the reality is, voltage or wattage, I change it on a tank by tank basis anyway (be it for different resistances or different juices). Just like voltage, there's no one magic wattage that I like to vape at. It all depends on the situation.
Wattage tends to vary linearly, voltage tends to vary by its square. It seems that wattage should be easier, but when you get down to clicking buttons, there isn't much to choose between them.

For example, on a 1 ohm coil and using silly numbers to make the maths easy:
5V = 25W
5.1V = 26W = +4%

10V = 100W
10.1V = 102W = +2%

25W to 25.5W = +2%
100W to 100.5W = +0.5%

So in terms of percentage change in vape experience per button press, voltage is actually more linear.

Took the SVD out of service today still working. Will take it out for a spin from time to time. Awaiting Innokin's next move with this device.
Any guesses? Complete revamp and re-design or a non cosmetic "Fix"?

what are you using now?........if they just fix the fire button problem, that would suit me, & maybe lighten it up a bit and make a 26500 tube for it...not much to ask for.

Does anyone who got an SVD in the past couple of months had issues with the power button?
I understand that lately they changed the color of the button, so maybe they also improved something about its durability?

Thanks!

The pre-production version had a clear button. The production version is black. The production version is the one with the problem I am sorry to say.

Well, the replacement SVD was in my mailbox last night. It's just as solid as my first one. Currently running it in 18490 mode, brought it to work with me today. Hopefully this one will hold up better than my first one.

Fingers crossed.

I am waiting to see if Innokin actually addresses the issue. There have been too may complaints for the problems not to be widespread. Will it be a revision or a complete new model?

My 510 threads are starting to wear out on my SVD after 4 1/2 months. My Vivi Novas, IGO-L and Nimbus no longer catch the threads. Thankfully my Kayfun and Protanks still thread on and stay. When I get a chance I'm going to order a 510 to 510 adapter that hopefully threads on, or an ego to 510, so I can use my other devices.

It's been a great mod otherwise, I've enjoyed using it and like the looks of it. But I think im moving on. I have a Caravela clone on order. And I do want another VV device. I was looking but I see the same old out there: Vamo, Zmax, Provari etc. I want something new.

The ego to 510 adapters have worked for a few people saving devices. This is an old Vamo standby which had a lot of connector issues. It should work for you.

the new airflow adapters work wonders for saving threads also plus airflow cntrl to boot.

Thanks, I'll look into this.

Good question. From a cosmetic perspective, I'm okay with the looks of the SVD; I also like the "one-tube-fits-all" setup. Since we've already seen a few Chinese 20 watt mods hit the stores, I can envision a rev 2 (or three?) having 20 watt capability.

Maybe a more robust electronics package, and making the 510 connector out of high-grade stainless steel.

I did that on my Vamo until I found a replacement top cap. I'd hate to have to use one on the SVD, it's already tall enough as is. Heck, in 18490 mode, it's about 1/2" taller than my Provari in 18650 mode.

I believe they are sticking to copper/brass on connectors for conductivity. I have seen some plated ones in chrome or some such material. I have on one a Vamo v2 since the top caps do not remove. It is the only way to use some Ego threaded tanks. It looks odd and does extend the overall length.

Got my replacement SVD today. Should have kept the first one :( This ones got problems right out of the box. Wouldn't work with Kanger Aero, gave battery errors till I switched over to the iclear 30s. The button is spongy like you describe Dan. Not at all like the old one. When you turn it on it won't work right off and I have to click it one or two times after the initial three to get it working. Not getting near the vapor either. Ahhhh I don't know glad I've got back up cuz I think this is going to be on the shelve. I give it a couple more tries tomorrow. But I won't be spending another 17 bucks to return this one...

Got a chance to go to a local B&M and paw through his SVDs. Unlike the three I have been through (Original purchase and 2 replacements) the ones there did exhibit a stop at the click point when the firing button is depressed. I can only assume the switch problem has been addressed by Innokin. I will just have to continue to use a soft touch with mine.

I tend to agree, retic, about VW not being necessary. Of course, VV isn't either, as long as you can get or make your coils in the right resistance! Since that's not always an option, VV and VW have a permanent place in my vaping box.

My other issue with Provari is the lack of native eGo threading. The larger thread is mechanically much more robust. So a Provari with VW and eGo threads would be a nice choice to have. But they don't give us that choice, so I'll stay with my SVD :)

Wow... David you probably saw me asking about a link to this thread, over in the vv3 thread; I figure since I love the vv3 so much, another Innokin that has more capacity would be right up my alley, but I don't care for the box mods, and the 134 is just kinda weird looking; this one suits me a lot better -- love the changeable battery feature particularly. What "wows" me is someone saying that anything is in any way better than a p'vari -- most folks act like those are the Ark of the Covenant or something. :D But I'd definitely prefer to keep eGo compatibility since all my clearos use that.

I like all the features of this one, and although at first I thought it looked huge, having seen some pics of it in people's hands, I realize it's not THAT much bigger than the vv3, although I do like that it can take the larger batteries, the 18650s; I also read the rechargeable battery thread in the ECF library, and apparently the 18650s aren't just bigger and longer lasting, they're actually even safer, and that appeals to me a great deal.

The one thing said that gives me pause is about the fire button -- sometimes falling out? Anyone have any info about that?

Thx!
Andria
