Check out the inside of my new Vmod done by ChopperStyles!
wow.... VV BOTTOM FEED XL VMOD... WOW
I'd like to take an XL and cut it down so that it fits a Kick + an 18350.
Thoughts/ideas/advice/etc???
Mike, I'm not sure why you want to cut down the XL. Why not Kopper Kick-o-phy it with the 18650? It's an idea, but I'm not sure it's worth the time/effort/expense.![]()
Honestly, no offense, but this seems like one of the worst ideas I've seen in a while. The small battery will be a nuisance to keep changing. The structural changes will weaken the base. The whole plastic innards are correctly sized with the hole in the outer shell, and everything snaps together nicely, aluminum on plastic body. The plastic in itself is not that thick, or strong. The Vmod is rigid, but it's because everything fits precisely together. Plus it fits very well in your hand as it is. A shorter body would not be as nice to grasp and push the button on, you tend to use your little finger for leverage. If you put a kick in it, you have to use a smaller battery already, but it's still a decent sized 18490. An 18350 is not a lot of battery, especially on a VV regulator. And with a good atomizer like an HH.357, the Vmod XL gives a purdy darned good vape on an unregulated battery. Just wait until you have one, and use it for a few hours, you'll see that it's very good the way it is. Then you can better think about what to do next.
Well, the Vmod2 -- the little brother -- is small, light and a great little 3.7 feeder. Here's a size comparison picture:

Yep! I like the size of the 14500 one MUCH better, but I want VW too (I want... I want... I want...)!
Because it's too large (for ME). The non-XL is a better size, but I can't put VW into it.
I actually understand, Mike! And feel much the same way. Would it be lovely to have a VW or even VV device the size of the Junior, and with a battery that lasted 17 days!
Like you, I have little concern for batt time. I have many mods around the house and never carry less than 5 in my purse at any time. For purse compatibility, I use the Junior, not the XL. I find the XL a bit too large for me, too.
Keep us posted on your search/creation!
