Oops, my bad. Apologies for taking the comment out of context.

I used the XL all day yesterday with the Vapage atty and managed to vape through 6 ml of NLV Renegade. Now I am still new to this but 6ml is more than I usually go though. Was reading the Atty review section and saw that the atty was reviewed as being a bit of a juice monster. Up till now a 3ml tank and some dripping I have been good for a day.

How much do you burn through ? Not really concerned just curious.

As noted I have been a bit OTT this week with 2 Provari's so the 357 is going to have to wait but again the reviews section has led me to the SmartVapes dripping atty. Interestingly they sell a 306 version but no 306 drip tips but thought I would reach out and see if anyone had played with this ?

Given I am only 24 hours into having this mod so far I must say it has given me the most consistent and best tasting vape I have found. I will confess to being a big 18650 fan, just throw it in and you are good for a day without any concern.

With this mod about all I will carry with me is a spare atty and a battery in the car.

The Provari and the Mini has a lot to do to make me consider not making this mod my day to day PV. Yes the variable voltage is nice but there is enough play in LR to make up for that for a set and go device, I am too busy during the day to be concerned about the difference between 4.2 and 4.5 volts I just want a good consistent vape. At home I can worry about that.

Another advantage is not having to give any thought to juice VG/PG ratio's. Put it in the bottle and it will vape. Wicking is never a problem.

I could go on for another few paragraphs but I am preaching to the converted so best shut up lol I can summarise it best as I have no doubt that Reo's etc have a nicer build quality but the VMod just plain works and works exceedingly well. Considering the amount of change you will get out of a $100 I haven't come across a better option for a throw it in your pocket and go PV.

Finally got into the backyard in the daylight and found my bottle! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Good kitty, no wait. BAD kitty.

Yes, and I must say I do like the SV dripping attys.

Battery in the car? I'm no batt expert, but I somehow don't think that's a good idea. Anyone else, please chime in?

Andy, please DO go on! We all love this mod, but anyone new reading this thread will benefit from your experience. :)

Andy, dahlink, it's like this: there are no "juice monsters" or "juice misers". There's just HOW MUCH F%$%#^@ VAPOR DO YOU WANT? If you have a powerful feeding PV like an XL, with a big battery, a big bottle and a strong LR atty, and especially with a VG-oriented e-liquid, you are going to get a LOT of dense vapor, kind of like shoveling snow. It has to come from SOMEWHERE, no? Let me guess! Maybe ... your e-liquid? :p

If you get your technique down, where you mostly auto-feed, i.e. you prime with a squirsh, and then keep the VMod XL slightly tilted, the finger on the button, and VAPE, DUDE, VAPE, you will become a geological fixture of the Ring o' Vapor, a Veritable Vaping Volcano. Woody Reo and the Work of Art Contingent can contemplate all they want. My Provari is a RESEARCH INSTRUMENT. But day to day, in the trenches, I be XL INDUSTRIAL! I LOVE it. Dude, I go through a 30 ml bottle in a little over two days, and my wife vapes un poquito too (a 4ml EMDCC on a 1000 mAh eGo), bringing the 30 ml bottle's expectancy down to 2 days even. I've been buying VG in 2 liter lots, but I'm switching to the gallon size. None of that 30 day steeping for us. I've taught my wife how to shake the blend and I've told her to work it good under the hot water tap, or she won't get any! Her former little 510 rig on the charging shelf now only elicits hearty laughs. Shameless! Stop at Nothing! Vape on!

Up to a few months back Provape offered a Provari Power 2500 mah protected 18650 batt (for about 6 months or more). They said just what Fernand said.
Now they are back to a AW IMR 2000mah only; and that one is said to be more like a protected 18650 than the AW IMR 1600 batt they used to say was the only batt for Provari (they recommend only the 2000 now). Never knocking Provape.... just saying.

What I'm saying is I agree with Fernand, about using P18650's but recommending AW IMR 1600 (or 2000) for the XL (or the Provari) is the norm and what I prefer for LR attys on a 3.7 PV.

Kind of wishing I had just did the glue fix on my XL instead of sending it in... but in the long run, I'll be happy if/when I get it back. Not sure I'd recommend it unless you have a back up XL.

Lol

I think I am seeing your point of view. Since I got the Vari's I have been using them for comparative dripping, Vanilla Straits and Vanilla Love and struggling to tell the difference, however come to going to work tomorrow I won't be leaving without my XL. It maybe joined by the black ProVari once the tank I ordered eventually shows up but that will be for changing pace with juice. The Mini is nominally the wife's so won't be stealing that one.

For this week I made a couple of modest purchases for the XL. I got hold of a couple of the 4.8v batteries, charger and a couple of SmartVapes Dripping atty's. If the 4.8's work out I will buy another pair.

Make no mistake Reo's are great devices, I am going to write this kinda quietly, however the VMod compared to the base technology of Reo's is better. Do you need a drip shield for a VMod ? Tissues in your pocket ? Nope. Why ? Great design.

Hats of to the Reo for being able to run a truck over it but I don't actually own a truck. Being someone that likes reserves once the wife has gotten over the financial shock of this week I can see another XL and maybe a normal VMod in my future.

The 4.8s are like a grenade, short but sweet. Just need to carry more than one. They're great with SR atties for when you're cleaning your LR deevices.

I dunno about them kicks. It ain't natural. If the Great Spirit had wanted us to vape with eelectronics, He would have put a Bluetooth interface in the XL.

Very happy still with the XL but have to say kinda perplexed by the Vapage atty's.

I bought the mod with 5 First shorted. Second was dead. Third was a vaping beast that died after 2 days. Fourth was DOA. Fifth again seems to be a vaping beast. Upside is that after the second I had a ProVari to check for shorts.

On reflection this may not be the forum for this.

Is it me or is 2 good atty's out 5 a.bit bad? I use the word bad but that isnt the term I am thinking. All these were brand new out of a sealed packet.

Tried one of the cartos due to the luck I was having and that lasted about 15 minutes as the flavour didn't compare to atomizers or single coil 1.7's or Boges come to that.

How long are atty's lasting you?

Pardon me for another kicked in V-MOD XL question but I really need a help on my modding. I've been struggle with make it work last few hours and I didn't have any luck.

I search kick in vmod and ended up this thread. I read several great idea here and tried two methods cracker75's small metal plate and chadster214's molded alminum sheet.

#2 http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...m-feeding-mod-vapage-com-252.html#post5494157

So I decided to try...

First, I got

- V-MOD XL (brand new) - (I had to buy one because I only have vmod v2)
- AW 18490 fully charged
- Kick
- multimeter and voltage meter
- metal parts

#1 small plate

I couldn't find any metal sheet at home so I pull out metal sheet from my old battery box, insert onto ground wire and I didn't solder (I will once it worked), place the battery and boom, no fire. I gave up tried different angle and wiggle parts for 30 minutes.

#2 alminum sheet

Again, I couldn't find any metal sheet so I decided to use stainless mesh sheet but I have no clue if it good or bad. At least it's metal sheet and easy to cut by scissors. I cut sheet and bend to make sure bottom part touch the negative spring. Kick will be face spring down so ground spring will be contact well. I poke around everywhere abour 30 minutes and gave up second methods.

I tried to think hard and vape hard but still have no clue. I place 18650 battery (no kick) and it work like a charm so vmod is okay. Also, same 18490 + kick into my P18650 is working properly.

Am I missing something? :(

I will try to buy some aluminum sheet soon but any suggestion/help will be greatly appreciated.

if you're going to make the aluminum sheet. make sure to have the sheet extended all the way to the bottom spring.( slide out the bottom spring, slide in the aluminum sheet and re insert the spring) Also make sure you sand the ground contacts because some aluminum sheet have clear coating on them.

Ok this is the easiest way to kick the vmod imo go to ebay and buy some coper foil its conductive on both sides http://www.ebay.com/itm/300644280208?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 cut it to fit bend the spring out of the way
b82a01b6-f65b-7c23.jpg
cut out the area where the spring wire goes in then put the spring back in place
b82a01b6-f6a6-56f6.jpg
then cut another piece of the coper foil and place over the spring wire that goes up the side
b82a01b6-f6f5-3928.jpg
pop your kick in and battery and enjoy its easy to do and it looks really nice and clean hope this helps

Looks like I get to wait another 2 weeks or so before my VMOD XL ships?
Wish I would have known this when i ordered it. Kinda sad ya don't get any kind of confirmation or email saying it is backordered and caught in customs, and wont ship for 3 weeks!!

XL's normally show up weekly on the Classifieds board.

I would be tempted to pick one up from there, I did.

I agree! this would be the easiest way to mod for the Kick. Only a few measurement and you're done!
