I had the same trouble and it was fixed by changing bottles, too. I am wondering if it's the amount of pressure used in squonking that may be torquing the bottle out of alignment while it is threaded. Then, once distorted, it doesn't go back so it starts leaking. Not sure, just my hypothesis. I put a tiny square of the receiving end of some velcro tape behind the bottle (on the post that separates it from the battery) to minimize the amount of distortion created on the bottle. So far no more leaks. Just a thought.

Cnew, perfect! That is precisely what I was going to suggest. Lucid, in addition, you may want to put an O ring on the neck of the bottle to prevent over-tightening. Lastly, I did have occasions where an air bubble would form right at the opening of the bottle. Check for that, too. Let us know when you get and try out your new bottles.

fourth! WHAT a BUMMER!!!

Told you...you are 'cracking' up !
Sorry to hear that...
Would have been nice if they told you in advance !

Got my six XL bottles and a label to send back the six vMod 2.0 ones today.
Yesterday- got my second XL...in silver. (Looks nice with the long empire SS drip tip I put on it !)
Really like it...but using the first one (black) as my main vape PV now.
Made the modification you suggested Forth- cut a little patch of rubber membrane for the bottom...
Much cushier for the little finger now.
Also, had to put a little piece of black electrician tape on each side of the cover where the bottle is...
The edges of the cover were so sharp, it was cutting the bottle when it moved around in my pocket.
The tape will do until I soften the edges this weekend.
Now, I will also add a little patch of the same rubber membrane behind the tank as was suggested.
And do the same things for vMod #2.

I will tell you that I have moved over to the atomizers now...
and, so far, so good.

'Fraid not! The package had all the rest of my order...just not the shell. It's listed on the enclosed packing slip...but is missing. I contacted Vapage and finally Jenny replied this evening and said they are "looking into it" and someone will call me tomorrow. Sigh.

That's a bummer !
Odd that it was on the packing list...
But not in the box.
Think they might be having a little problem in shipping !
I'm sure they will fix it...but the hassle, and dashed hopes....

I got my small size Vmod today. What a difference for my hands. I don't know how long that little juice bottle will last but i know it won't be able to last all day. The reason i got the small vmod is because the XL is so hard for me to hold without straining my hand. This way i can take a break and rest up.

I don't know about anyone else but even though I love the Vmod and the VmodXL i feel compelled to get a REO Mini. Just because it is so sturdy plus they do sell a complete repair kit. I don't judge anyone for their choice of mods because we all are different.

Hi more !
I looked at the reo mods too...
The reos are a very solid unit, but I don't do PayPal and have read that the square corners are not as easy to hold as the vMod.
Also..a couple of people have said the door slides off, if you pull it from a pants pocket...which is where I keep my vMod until I make a leather holster for it.

I got my second XL this week...very happy with them and I now feel that these complete my vapping mod purchases.
I mean, twelve is enough for one guy !

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions regarding my leaking issue, everyone. I'll be sure to let you know how things go when my new bottles come (sadly it looks like that'll be after the weekend). Could I trouble anyone to post a picture of their spacer/bumper for stabilizing the bottle?

I didn't get a call from Vapage, after all. But Jenny emailed and offered apologies and said they would be sending my Cracks shell right out.

Of course, in keeping with my usual luck, my Vmod suddenly stopped working. I think something went wrong with the switch. Had to open a ticket and will send it back to be fixed or replaced. Still have lots of warranty time. But I'm heartbroken all over again. Sniff. I hope they run a really good sale on the Vmods again SOON so I can buy a back up!

When the half of sale coming again!! Only reason this thread is bookmarked for me.... all this talk but no vmod. Lol

I'm on their mailing list... fingers crossed. Anyone know if there's a rhyme or reason to when they do the big sale or if there's a particular holiday or time of year they do it?

I'm too cheep to pay full price for my first bottom feeder.

 DJ, let me know if that statement still holds let's say... in 6 months?

I'm not sure a picture would say a thousand words in this case, Ace (like how I did that? ;)) I just use a small piece of velcro butted up between the bottle and the chassis wall that separates it from the batt compartment. I don't even tape it or glue it in. Just rest it there, and it provides enuf cushioning.

fourth, don't smack me, but could there be the slightest chance that you inadvertently twisted the on/off on the button and locked yourself out of VMODian vaping? It's happened to many people.

Hello fellow VMOD users. I'm hoping I might be able to get some help with a leaking issue I've been having. I searched this thread and found a little info about leaks around the top of the bottle/threaded area, and that's what I'm experiencing. I first had the problem last week (after using the VMOD 2.0 for 2-3 week), but the problem went away after I switched the bottle. Today I started having leaking again. I've inspected the bottle very carefully and can see no signs of cracks in the neck area or anything.

Are there any other known causes of leaking? I've got more bottles on order from vapage, but I'm really hoping I can figure this out, because this is the device I use for work and nothing in my arsenal is really going to be a suitable replacement for that.

Thanks,

Ace

Ace, there IS a seal that is supposed to got into the area where you screw in the bottle. This often falls out early on, so much so that many people don't even realize there is supposed to be one there.

Look up in there before you screw the bottle in and see if it's in there. It is just a very small gasket, clearish color. Once that is up in there your problem should resolve.

That was the ONLY time I ever had a leak.

If you order new bottles from vapage there is a seal included.

As for comfort, yes, I have found the vmod design, including the window placement for squonking, to be much more ergonomic and comfortable in the hand than the REO. However, both mods have their pros and cons, like everything else.

Sometimes, even just size of a mod can make or break the experience, some are too small and hit your hand in the wrong place or you feel cramped, others are too tall or too heavy........I have tried out a whole lot of mods since I started vaping, way more than I ever thought I would! Just had to test and try 'em all. You do find your 'sweet spot' but I can't say I've found "nirvana". There is always something I think can be improved LOL

Is that all along the side of the bottle or is it just by the top/bottom of it? I'm pretty sure I don't have any spare velcro around so I'm going to need to improvise something.

The seal is still in there. I tried to look in there as best I could when I started having problems to see if it had gotten out of position or looked damaged in any way, but it seemed to be fine. I think my problem is with the bottles.
..............

On that front I've got good news and more good news. My bottles from Vapage came today instead of Monday and a new bottle seems to work just fine. Something else I did to test things out was screw a cap onto one of the old bottles and then squeezed it - juice came out from under the cap just like it comes out of the mod when I'm using it. I tried the same thing with a new bottle, and there was no leakage.

Looking at a new bottle next to an old one I can see the uppermost threads on the old bottles look more rounded and less defined than the new ones. I'm thinking that must be the problem. I'm guessing the solution is finding ways to protect those threads by stabilizing the bottle and/or adjusting how tightly and carefully I screw the bottles into position.

I've seen people talking about putting an o-ring on the bottle to prevent over tightening. How tightly should the bottle be screwed into place? I've been screwing it in firmly; it seems to turn in smoothly with very little change in resistance all the way until I can no longer see the threads on the bottle. Is that too tight?

Thanks again, everyone. I'm so happy to have my VMOD 2.0 back. It's quickly become my constant vaping companion, and I imagine this will be something I always slip into a pocket even when I'm going to a place where I feel comfortable taking a larger mod.
