LucidAce, it is indeed along the side of the bottle... separating the bottle and the wall of the battery area. You could prolly use almost anything that would cushion/stabilize it a bit.

Glad you discovered the seal and the problem with the threads on the "bad" bottle! Your test of putting a cap on it (off and outside of the VMOD) then squeezing it to check for leaks should be underlined for all current and future VMODians. Good job!

As far as tightening goes, I think I mentioned that I use an O ring at the bottle neck for a dab of more stability. I also think that with ALL things e cig vaporizing, finger tightening is always the way to go. Just tighten til it stops. It doesn't have to be screwed in massively (over-tightened). Less worry about what you see in terms of the threads, and more attention to the feel of it. You'll find your bottle tightening sweet spot! :D

I didn't get a call from Vapage, after all. But Jenny emailed and offered apologies and said they would be sending my Cracks shell right out.

Of course, in keeping with my usual luck, my Vmod suddenly stopped working. I think something went wrong with the switch. Had to open a ticket and will send it back to be fixed or replaced. Still have lots of warranty time. But I'm heartbroken all over again. Sniff. I hope they run a really good sale on the Vmods again SOON so I can buy a back up!

So Sorry Forth....
Yes, When it rains...it pours...!
And didn't you just pack up some of your other Vaping equipment....?
I know you have backups...but still ....

Day 2 with atty's from vapage. I really like these. Wonder how long the atty's last, it probably depends on what type of juice is being used.

My first atty lasted four days...
Which sounds awful for a $9.00 item....but I am going to call it 'my learning atty' !
I know I abused it...flooding, cleaning it out several times...hitting it too long and too hard....
So..your mileage will defiantly be better than my first. I put another on #12... But haven't used it yet.

I sound like an atty abuser !

But, as I think Andy Thacher sayed...just hit it for two seconds at a time...and it will last.
On round two...I'm going to go for distance....let ya know.

The rain is a-dumpin' and I'mma mighty low.

Light rain, light rain.
Baby, fallin' down....

But someone offered to sell me one of their spare Vmods at a price I could work with to get me through...so maybe next week I'll have something to make me smile again. I don't know how long Vapage takes to do a warranty job. Meanwhile I had my VV Gripper (but am avoiding using it except to check ohms because it's my last dependable ohm checker, and one of my VV Grippers already died, so I'm paranoid about this one). I dug up my Ovale V8s and they are doing fine, really. And my eGo T Mod. They work. Not the same. But they do work. I find myself dragging super hard trying to get the same "punch" the Vmod gives...mostly to no avail. End result is I'm pulling/dragging mightily and puffing constantly! It's exhausting.

But we do what we have to do.:glug:

My Shifu/Pro Slant Coil Spec atty's have lasted at least a month to 6 weeks or so, with a lot of daily use--2-3ml through it a day. I most frequently use a 65/35 blend on my v-liquids.

Only very occasionally have I had that good result with any other atty, and then never consistently. The consistent quality standards of the Shifu/Pro Slant Coil have been far far above the average atty as well as Vapage's earlier versions.

We sure do! You will make it Fourth. Good you sent it in and are taking advantage of the warranty. I hope you get the new chassis back quickly.

Here's some data that could be useful in the future, or for other new Vmodians:

The Vmod is all mechanical -- so the most logical thing it could be is that the firing connection simply isn't happening, or the battery is dead. (Yes, I returned another mod one time that wasn't firing---and it WAS my battery. )

When you get your loaner take a careful look at how it works.....and that might come in handy for the future. It seems to be rare, but I have heard of the connecting wire popping out. Someone handy could pop it back in.

I also know that there is a micro difference between my vmods in how tight or far down I have to screw in the atty/carto to make connection. Sometimes the threads are a little tight when they are new, so the normal "finger tight" rule didn't necessarily apply. Even now I will finger tight - no fire - turn another 1/8 to 1/4. Perfecto!

Also, could it be that you were using a carto with a flat pin and it didn't connect? Sometimes they just arrive differently or get squished in a bit after use. (especially on other devices) At one time there was a video that showed how to carefully raise a flattened pin on an atty or carto---that works great, if it isn't done too frequently with the same atty/carto/device. I should know, I ended up killing a mod once by doing it too much......and it was off to the repair man.:p

Thanks...but I did check everything I could think of to check, except I didn't know exactly how the wires work. Yep..I know it's mechanical. I was hoping I could figure it out, but I couldn't. I tried 3 batteries and put a voltage meter in and there was NO power to the connector. I put those same batteries in another PV and they worked. I did check to be sure the switch button was "on" (!!) I checked a couple of cartos just to be sure. Nada. Yeah...I know about the flat pin syndrome. In fact I'm fighting one now in a carto tank I'm having to use while I wait on my Vmod(s). I even washed the chassis. All of it. Not necessarily in that order. ...but of course, if there's no power to the connection...it ain't a-gonna work.

What burns me up is that I DID look at how the switch/connection worked when I first got it...and I STILL couldn't figure it out when it broke! WAH!!!

DJ, I somewhat respectfully disagree with Sir Thatcher. The entire process of vaping almost requires that we slow down the speed of the vape. I never really understood that as a newbie, but I watched enuf YT vids to see how people vaped. It looked incredibly strange to me in the beginning. SUCH long drags! But I practiced and I got it. What I've come to understand more recently is the reasoning behind the long puffs. Since we are inhaling a non-combustible product, and one which needs to warm and then vaporize, the length of the draw gives the coil a chance to get to the correct temperature to be able to vaporize the liquid. Now, having said that, I do have another non-Vapage atty (think $$$) that takes no time whatsoever to heat to that point and drawing on it is a very cigalike experience. I also have a mod that performs in the same way (high voltage/wattage).

fourth, I'd recommend the same for you. Believe it or not, slowing it way down will give you a better (should say "better") vape and perhaps be more relaxing. :)

So Aaaaaandy, if you're miffed with me, come on out to Cali and we'll discuss it over some Bounty Hunter. ;)

Ms. tearose, great explanation on the pulling of the pin. Phil Busardo did a pretty good video on "pulling your pole".

(Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger-ette. ;))

Kat- totally agree with you.
To vape...we must get a 'goodly' amount of nicotine laced vapor into our mouth and sinus cavities.
This requires long, full draws, not a 2 second hit. On my eVic and Natural this is usually 6-8 seconds with a RDA.
Now, I can see Andy's point...a wet coil, 2 second draw..coil is still wet and cools quickly...
This would tend to promote a longer life for the atty coil...just not a very satisfying or productive vape.

I modded both of my vMods tonight...added a strip of rubber membrane material behind the bottle area.
The membrane is sticky on one side and has a yellow plastic on the other...which cannot be peeled off if you wanted to.
It fits perfectly, helps hold the bottle firmly and the yellow on the inside kinda makes the liquid in the bottle glow...:2cool:
Same stuff as I added to the bottom of my black vMod...per: Forthrok's suggestion- as a cushion !
The rubber membrane material is about 3/16" thick....nice call gals, I like it !
And I went back to MadVapes to get 30 more 2 ohm cartos. In my last order, I bought 10 and 4 packages of their 'Sunrise 1.7 ohm cartos'.
Well, they work, but not to well-and not to long...like a tankful. I opened one, and thought I had not taken the white cap off...
It was filled to the lip with poly fill. I took it all out, and filled it 3/4 the way again.

Forth...I am so sorry for you troubles...it just sucks !!!

Here are the pics...

100_0424.jpg
Mod #12 and #11

100_0423.jpg
Naked vMods.
Note the yellow plastic behind the bottles. That is the Rubber Membrane...which is really 'Ice and Water Shield' used in construction as a waterproof membrane around foundations and on roofs.
The yellow side is plastic...and cannot be removed, but one could peel the rubber off- not easy, but can be done.

100_0421.jpg
The silver and black vMod XLs has it behind the battery- The black vMod XL has a cushion on the bottom.
Haven't done the base cushion yet for the Silver one....this weeks todo list.
Kat...Notice the GLOW ...(oooh....ahhhh)

100_0417.jpg
I didn't notice that the plastic had a black line through it-until I put it on....
But it worked out just right.

So...There you go !
Forth- Sad for You...but know that it will get fixed.
More...PM me if you want some, will mail to you- else you can buy it at HomeDepot...but it's expensive.

I love it love it love it! Glow proudly!

I'd like to find some at Home Depot, but that store annoys and frightens me. ;)

LOL. Just grab one of the dudes (or dudettes) that have the orange smocks. Make sure it's someone that has a multitude of measuring devices hanging off their belt. You usually can tell the ones that know what they are doing there. If not one of those types, be sure to tell him/her that you're looking for a specific item for your VMod (or whatever) and watch their eyes go cow-like when you try to describe it. I've done it. It's fun. Kind of scary how many clueless employees are running around that place.
