I was leaning towards the Panasonic ones, I've heard they were very reliable and lasted a little longer then most. Still doing my research and that includes all the input from all the people I've been introduced to here.

I prefer AW's (Black or Red) or the Panasonic CGR18650CH. I have been spending a lot of time trying to sort out the other green Panasonics and am far from being able to recommend them as the world of batteries is becoming a new challenge to understand.

This was very recently updated and is what ECF Says:

Rechargeable batteries

We now advise that Li-Mn or top-quality Li-FePo4 rechargeables are used in APVs, in preference to rechargeable Li-ions. We suggest the best option, in order, is:

1. AW IMR Li-Mn rechargeables.
2. Panasonic hybrid cells. (Sony spinel cells are new on the market at the date of edit [2013-09-01] and it is likely they will also prove acceptable, they are an Li-Mn type). You must ensure that Panasonic and Sony cells are sourced from an authorised distributor, as they will become extensively counterfeited.
3. AW Li-FePo4 rechargeables [Li-FePo4's mostly NEED A SPECIAL CHARGER]. Note that these batteries are mostly 3 volt nominal so the system voltage will be lower than normal. They are the best choice for stacking as long as they are not counterfeits.
4. Good quality (such as AW or Pila) protected Li-ion rechargeables.
5. Branded protected Li-ions come next - such as *fire Li-ion rechargeables (for *, insert Trust / Sure / Ultra-).
6. The least-preferable option is a generic protected Li-ion.
7. Unprotected rechargeable Li-ion cells should not be used.
8. Standard cells (non-rechargeable) MUST NOT be used.

Li-FePo4 cells can be used provided that they are top-quality, ideally they should have a rating of 4C or higher.

I'm home and as promised, I mounted an RM2 (mini that was machined) to my XL.

http://sdrv.ms/18VjmaM link to my Skydrive.

Here is the O-ring I used. It came from a multi pack from Home Depot.

http://sdrv.ms/15TtgZy again, a Skydrive link. (I really need to get my photobucket going again....

It works great !!! I don't know what a non-machined down one would do or if it would work as I don't have one. It's another great option, although much more expensive, to the A7. However, it took all of 2 minutes to attach and no fiddling with orings to find the right sizes to seal it all off.

Question about the white. How dirty do they get? Considering a paint job on one of mine that has some wear marks from riding along on the motorcycle.

I got my white shells during last 1/2 off sale! I think I like them the best out of all the different shells I have for both VMod models! They were sold out of the white last time I looked or I would have gotten a back up in both sizes. The white is an anodized shell similar to Reo's! No issues with em really getting dirty ... But I tend to baby my mods too! LOL!

Well I feel like an idiot. I thought I had my A7 working on my Xl. Wrong! I had an extension which is 11.5cm long with an o-ring seated at where the adapter connects to the A7. It seemed to work fine, but then I started getting dry hits, so turned it, gave it a squoank and tried again. Dry hit again. So I took it apart, and noticed I had juice all on the inside of the cover piece. Ok no problem, just need to put an o-ring between the A7 and the inside of the well where the device goes. But then I can't make a draw. With the larger o-ring I can't draw anything. Does this mean I have to drill an air hole in the A7? I was hoping not have to do that, in case I decide to get rid of the A7.

I screwed everything down tight and marked where would be pointing up as I vaped with a sharpie. I also marked where about the coil would sit. Then schwacked it with a nail punch so the bit wouldn't wander. Using a 3/64ths dremel drill bit in my regular drill, I drilled the hole. After cleaning it out, I took a few pulls and it was really tight so I opened it to 1/16th and it was good. It works equally as well on the Reo, but I plan to use it on the bogger. ....if it will ever ship.
