katdarling, its a real good thing I didn't meet up with ya in my younger years in real life cuz it's very clear that you would egg me on into a lot of trouble......the good kind of course

Yes, and you would me as well! :D

Well RH, I cant explain the size difference her:confused: But I can tell you, as for the one that fires in the off position a simple fix is put the battery in upside down and it'll cure it:thumbs:
Now as for kat egging you into trouble, Hmm, maybe, well probably:laugh:

J/K Kat;)

No, you're abstolutely right Tat! No prolly about it. ;)

I had no idea! I thought putting batts in upside down would blow stuff up.

Okay, so it will work........I guess I need to understand the science of *why*.

if Kat didn't get me in trouble, I 'm sure "the bears" would...bears are very mischievious.actually, here is one in my front yard:

 no, no, in most cases, the mod would have a circuit protection to prevent it from even firing if it was upside down. But only because of the Electrical circuitry. The VMod is all Mechanical, so no circuitry. All thats going on is your completing a a loop with the atty firing. But with the battery upside down, it will still fire. The loop doesn't know if it's supposed to go forward or backward and the atty doesn't know which is supposed to be positive or negative, it's just a wire completing the loop. So I guess what is going on is the positive becomes the negative and the negative becomes the positive on both the mod and the atty. Don't know if it makes any sense, or even if i'm right, i just know it works from experience:lol:

So in short, it won't blow up:laugh:

Edit; I mean the metal from the "switch" contacting the battery completes the loop not the atty:facepalm: Yeah, it's late:laugh:

As you can see, that young bear has a necklace. That means it has already been "tagged" by fish and game as a possible nuissance bear.

Since this kind of bear has no history of attacking people, and all the ones that show up or come walking thru are terrified when they see me, I usually don't call them in a 2nd time. In this case, it is actually human error. You leave cat or dog food laying around, if you live on edge of national forests, then you get "critters" coming around.

Now, I keep my food in air tight plastic bins, and cats/dogs get fed on a schedule, ie. only waht they will finish.

I feel similarly about possums, raccons, flying squirrels, etc. It's important that I don't practice habits that lure them here, because blowing them away with a shotgun for simply finding food doesn't seem right. I haven't killed anything in 11 years, and don't plan on it. I think we can be selfish sometimes.....this was their habitat long before I moved in.

If it's not a predator that poses risks, I just buy firecrackers, light 'em and toss em. That noise runs them all off, and they don't come back, and that way I haven't hurt any wildlife.

A young bear came ambling across my woods last week......on his way to somewhere else. He was gone pretty quickly..... Yet, I have neighbors who owuld have just blown him away.......I am so against that. I think if you cannot tolerate wildlife you should probably not live in the woods, ya know? Plenty of nice condos in town to live in, etc.

But with the battery upside down, it will still fire.

Okay it all makes sense why it will fire, and why it won't blow up.

I still dont' get WHY turning it upside down works tho.....is it becasse the bottom neg side is more flat in this case, thus better contact with top spring when you press the button?

The batteries that are slightly to tall shorten the distance of the switch. So when you flip it around the button is to the bottom so with the flat part on top, you have a greater distance for travel on the switch:)

Can anybody confirm that Vapage has the new stronger plastic "inside" for the VModXL?? Mine started to have some leaking last week .... Waaaaaaah!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS THING!!! First I noticed that the little ribbon I put around the battery to help in getting it out was damp. Then while I was holding it in my hand, I noticed there was juice along the plastic rim of the bottom and it had leaked onto my hand. I removed the shell and it was little tiny dribbles all down the back of the plastic piece inside --- once again also damp ribbon! I wiped off (several times all week) and figured I could deal with a tiny bit of leakage, but today it seems to be getting a little worse. The weird thing is I can't tell exactly WHERE it's leaking from! Ugh! Does it with both attys and cartos! Any suggestions, help, tips? I REALLY don't want to have to send it back & do without my VModXL! BoooooHoooooo!!! And I REALLY don't want to send it back if the updated, strong plastic isn't in stock. Thanks guys! I'm SAD! :-(

I cant seem to recall anyone posting anything about the New chassis:unsure: Can anyone that has sent one back in for a new, recent replacement chime in here and let us know the difference? Also, if anyone would, what was the turnaround time for a replacement(now after Quick turnaround was en stated) ?

TIA:)

Last time I saw a post about the stornger chassis was post #773 by tearose. New chassis was supped to come into us around mid august it sounded like from reading that post.

Unforutnatley 2423, you may have to send yours back in unless you want to glue......however, it appears to be a priority, 24 hour turn around instead of weeks?

Thanks Tat! Are you having the same issues? It's not like it's EXTREMELY bad with the leaking ... More annoying than anything because now I find myself pulling the shell off and checking it all the time! LOL! Seems like it isn't leaking constantly ... But it IS doing it! Sigh!!! Sure hope Vapage has the new updated stronger version plastic chassis available now, but I'm not really sure as mine was on back order for several weeks during that last big 50% off sale when they sold out. Soooooooo I'm assuming I got a VModXL that they'd just received shipment on. I also just ordered a VModXL for my son who is new to vaping (he liked mine) and I don't want him giving up because it has a leak issue. Seems if they have the new updated version they'd be sending with the new kits. Maybe someone can clarify! :)

heads up on the hybrid atty.....

My last order, I noticed the newer slant coil attys will come in a vapage package, carboard top label, and the usual plastic ziplock little bag......BUT the new slant coil ones will also be individually wrapped again inside there.

Just look at my last 2 orders, and it appears the first time I received the old ones which have less wires and go straight across, not slanted.

The next order, I got the new ones.

And that was when I noticed the difference.

On another front, I have a "hot" battery in my new order. I just put it on the charger for about an hour and battery is very hot to touch. Gonna have to chuck it I guess. A 14500........it's the black topped one, appears to be the newer ones, the ones that came with my kit had the white tops like the photos i showed.

What do i need to know aobut hot batteries? :) Charger or batt most like culprit???

Yup 1943, the same issues(including the constant checking:facepalm:) I can see the crack, and I can glue it like I did on my OG VMod, but first I'm curious as to the "New" chassis and the turnaround time for replacement(I was not thrilled the last 2 times:() before I comit to glueing or sending back. Hopefully someone will come along that has actually sent one back RECENTLY:unsure:

I just ordered another batch of 1.5 B/F hybrid attys... noted; shifu only please.
thanks to the info on 50 off...
btw, i tried to throw an XL in my cart and looks like they're OOS since they won't go into the cart; get hung up on the color selection...good thing as I don't need more APV. (i mean when i go to choose a color, there's no selection and it stops right there.)

HOT BATTS... whenever I have my batts sit in the charger for more than a few minutes after going green, they get hot... no worries.. been doing that for a long time and no noticeable problems. note: I have Pila and another charger that reduces when it gets full.I can't vouch for other chargers.

Uke, the batts that are getting hot are the newer black topped ones that I photo-ed here, they are also shorter.

And they are hot way before the charger light turns green..........charger is still red.

The ones that came w/original kits were white topped. These ala carte ones are black and shorter.

I did write to CS to see if they did, indeed, change their battery spec. I know they don't work weekends, so I'll wait til monday to see what they say.
