Left Coast!
Hey folks - quick question:

I'm using a 1.8 ohm Cisco 306 hybrid on my VMOD 2.0 and it has been doing really well. I've had the VMOD for about a month or so and absolutely loving it. Recently though, I've been getting an extremely cool vape and poor vapor production which I can't stand. I know it isn't the attie as it works fine on other batteries. Could it be that both of my batteries (included in the kit) have gone bad in a matter of a month? Is there anything else it could be?

Also, I want to give this little badboy a bath - any recommendations?

Thanks!

I suggest to give that badboy a bath!! use warm water and soap. also use your spare bottle and fill up with warm water attach it to the VMOD and squeeze! to clean the chamber. clean the battery contacts also after drying. or if you really want a consistent warm vape.. Kick it!

Given the batts are fresh, I guess its getting too much juice in the atomizer... symptoms of flooding are exactly that.
Thats the trick of B/F'ing

I thought that might be it, but I switched the attie straight onto another battery and had no issues. I even blew the attie completely out, screwed it back into the VMOD and dripped 3 drops in. Same thing - weak and cool vape. I'm hoping the bath and contact cleaning will work. I'm also going to give it a good inspection to make sure the battery contacts are making good connections.

simple guess; not enough power? the Ohms do creep up with use... that's why i always use 1.5's in my non VV devices... mine only last a week or two anyway.

That's what I am thinking too. I bumped up from 1.5 to 1.8 because the 1.5 were a little too warm. I have some more 1.5 Ciscos to try again and a 1.5 357 on the way.

try cleanning the atty.
soak in vodka etc,, blow out and dry.

Yeah, definitely not the attie - it's fine on other devices.

Well, I've decided to take the risk of sounding like a complete and utter doofus .......... because ... well ... if I don't ask, I'll never know! For all of you 306 users ... I don't know if they are all the same size but I have some IKV 306's that I would love to use with this fine vaping machine but ... holy crap ... it is so short it just disappears and I had a heck of a time getting it back out again! The drip tip that came with it is very loose so it is not usable at all for screwing it in or out. I am thinking that this is the problem?

Does anyone else who uses 306's have this problem and, if so, how do you solve it? Or is the drip tip you have tight enough to do the trick?

Am loving this VModXL!! Starting to get the hang of it now and have only seriously flooded it once today, lol. The flavors, though! Wow! This is what vaping should be!!!

FisherPal, I have never used the IKV 306's or IO6's, (too many inconsistency issues with IKV's), as yet as I am extremely happy with the Cisco spec 306's.... IMO there is not a better, more consistent atty, than a Cisco spec LR306 1.5ohm atty out there!!!! I have noticed on occasion that the drip tip sometimes will spin and not come out when trying to remove them as well. Something I did realize is if you put just a little downwards pressure on it as you are trying to remove it, it will come out every time. I think it has something to do with the pressure from the gasket inside the atty connector. I don't have this problem all that often as I only remove the atty like once every 2-3 months or so. I vape only one juice so I never have to change atty's out till I think I need to put in a new one. I have still to this day not had an atty really go bad... Lucky me.... Hope this helps you out....

The inconsistency's I am referring to is him changing vendors and the atty's just aren't the same as they were several months ago. Vapor and actual atty diameter tolerances are quite a bit varied from the new vendor. There was some discussion about it back a month or so ago in their subforum....

Howdy guys and dolls,

I've "liked" the carbon shell parts of the thread, here's hoping.

Fisher Pal, yeahhhhhhh babyyyyyy, so glad you were finally able to get your mitts on your XL. It is a wonderful device! I'm still using my first silo, been vaping watermelon and its great. I've got 10 x 10 ml's due in tomorrow, so I thought I'd save the hybrid for some nice enhanced juices, probably the Kailua and maybe the key lime pie...decisions, decisions, lol. When I saw your post about receiving it, just had to say congrats, and then to hear how much you are enjoying it....wow, fantastic. If and when you try the silo, I've found that after i vape, i hold the device, silo down when not vaping on it. I only have to hit the bottle once in a great while. Seems to keep a flow going so I seldom have to hit the bottle to send juice to the atty. Batteries, well, I go thru one battery for about every 1/3 to 1/2 of the bottle if I start with an almost completely full bottle. I go thru a bottle 8-9ml in a little over a day. Yeah, I know, I vape a whole lot more than I ever smoked. Guess it's a good thing I have 4 batts laying around, HA!

As to the rubber dip, I've thought about it and use it on tool handles all the time (its a good idea), and I may try it on a case once I get another one, cause I have a habit of screwing stuff up, ask my wife, she'll tell ya. One of my friends has a bunch of leather pieces and he's bringing some over this weekend, gonna see about making a cover and of course I have no leather working experience since the cub scouts back in the early sixtys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we were still using dinosaur hide way back then.

I wonder just how hard it is to use carbon fiber, hmmmmmm. I researched it at one time when building recumbent bikes, may have to look into it again.

Congrats again Fisher.

Vape loud
Vape proud

Big Mac

Sounds like a good idea, but keep in mind the tolerances inside the mod are not very much and you might have a problem putting the case back on the mod if the dip is too thick... Just a quick thought....

Fisher, a couple points to respond to what you said...
that "smoke" when you squeeze, doesn't necessarily mean it is bone dry ( i think you figured that out by now)... it merely means you have a hot coil which is right since you just vaped it a second ago, and juice IS getting there, which is a good thing... if that's your intention.
I tilt it right after a vape (even tilt while vaping because that's a good way to keep the juice there when firing; called "fire feeding"), to keep the coils wet ( a good thing for the atomizer).
You can never really visually gauge how much juice is in there, and the KEY to vaping is having just the right amount of juice on the coil. Too much is a fail, and too dry can be a bust. BUT better slightly dry imo, because you can just add more, VS too wet and your stuck with junk vaping until you get some of it gone.

Bottom feeding is the same as dripping, but you cant really see the juice ... so you have to get to know the device well.
1. take the atty off and tilt and squeeze (lightly lightly) and watch how much juice comes out.
2. know that tilting will allow some juice up in there too (at least it does as long as I've known the XL)
Trial and error to get that 15% up to about 75%.
3. you can tilt/squeeze and with the d/t off and visual it for yourself...
just until you get to know your b/f... then it will be your bff.

LOVE IT Uke!!!!!! That sounds so much better that tilt and vape....

Howdy folks, Muzichead,

Yeah, if I use it, it will have to be brushed on or done a different way, dipping will add too much to the interior and, as you said tolerances are way too tight inside. I've got leather coming this weekend, so maybe a leather cover is gonna be the way to go. Just don't know yet.
