It's a possibility. But in 10 days I haven't had this issue.. with the same wick material.

That's why I re-wicked. And I let it soak for a good long time.. In the 2nd blueberry mixture. hah. Doesn't look singed.. I suppose it's possible though.

So far, still no coughing with a non-blueberry mixture. I could even crank the voltage up a bit after switching.

I'd pick my blueberries from a different bush then.... Just saying...

Sounds like your coil had a hot spot and you inhaled some burnt juice and cotton. I tried cotton when first started using RBAs and had a similar hit.......OUCH! Mesh ever since.

No hot spots, the coil singed the cotton (perfectly uniform burn the size of my coil). I couldn't see it until I took my wick apart last night. Rolled a thinner wick and let it soak overnight. Hopefully that'll help.

Sorry for the false alarm folks! I was sure it was the blueberry! :p Glad it wasn't, I love that stuff.

FWIW, BBXtra is a known tank cracker - just a heads up. Speaking of a different blueberry bush...I've heard good things about the new TFA Blueberry Wild (BBExtra is also TFA). I haven't tried that one, but I do like the BBXtra anyway also. I didn't notice a throat issue with it, but everyone's different.

I've gotten throat issues from a fresh coil (with large-guage Kanthal especially, not so much on Nichrome), but not a fresh piece of cotton ball (aside from a hot spot as mentioned). My cotton almost always falls apart after a week or two and it darkens pretty immediately. It performs fine the whole way through, I normally just pull it due to a left over taste or else it looking cruddy.

I dunno what the issue is, just sharing my experience.

Glad you got your issue resolved! Have to ever tried bamboo, or hemp for wicks?

...Until our lab is setup to process orders again, we highly recommend MyFreedomSmokes (myfreedomsmokes.com) as a trusted alternative source for pharmaceutical grade nicotine solutions.

Anybody have an idea if this means any nic orders would be delayed for the extra 5 days? I'm left assuming that is the case.

I looked at MFS but they are just that much more expensive that I don't mind waiting for WL. Its like $20 more for 500ml 100mg. Plus I need some stuff from WL as it is.

What WL flavor works best as EM? The Bubblegum concentrate, regular bubblegum or the cotton candy????
On the Perfumer's Apprentice, only cotton candy claims to be 20% EM. the others have artificial flavors, etc
WL also sells EM in solution and in crystal form

I haven't. At a vape meet the other night, some guy gave me what he called "ceramic" wick.. It was a braided rope type of material. We'll see how that turns out!

I was looking that stuff up last night. It's a combo of alumina, boria & silica.

The ingredients make me nervous.

That would be a solid ceramic wick ala scubabatdans thread.

But if it's a flexible tube, it'll be the blend I mentioned above I think.

The solid ceramic wicks are very rigid & brittle, no flex.

So now there's "solid" ceramic wicks AND "flexible" ceramic wicks? Ahh geez. I can't keep up with this stuff anymore.

Thanks for clarifying.
