The FDA has a lot of people scared. That's one reason WL got swamped.
So when people start to panic, it ends up hurting one of the vendors who has had one of the best reputations for years. Not fair.
Businesses operate on an inventory, and are also dependent on THEIR suppliers from whom they order.
So they order what they will need, based on normal and customary customer ordering patterns.
Then, suddenly, in a week or 2's time, their orders suddenly double or triple or quadruple.....a business needs time to re-structure their inventory base as well as their own orders from their own suppliers who THEY in turn depend on.
Moral to story: Panic and Hysteria creates Chaos.
If you want to be part of that, then you have to take responsibility for your part in that. You then realize it's like going to the store for bottled water right before a hurricane is predicted to hit your town. Expect it to be tough.
I, too, have not been above doing this, as I have done it with a certain juice vendor from whom I had been unable to order. Then, I decided I didn't like the stress it made me feel, so I got hold of myself, stepped off the vulture merrygoround, and now will do my best not to be part of behaviors which create it. As a result, I"m not stressed and I also haven't stressed anyone else.
You also have to apply this to the "bigger picture" of life.....I live in a town that was partly wiped out by a tornado, and I can tell you, it is really ugly to see people climbing over each other for stuff. Best to try to be orderly and thoughtful and believe me, it all works out in the end.
