I've known Andria long enough that I know to spell it with an i, but my new phone has other ideas [emoji14]
I've added "Andria" to its dictionary now, so all should be good ;)

I asked my mom recently why they gave me such a weird spelling. Her answer? "Because it was different." Gee thanks mom, for sentencing me to a lifetime of being called "Adrian" by the dyslexic/illiterate. :D Her answer to that was "well I didn't call you Andria anyway, but Jill!" (my middle name, dropped when I got sober, since Jill was a pill of the first order -- Andria sounds a lot more grownup!) :D

KBOX jumps to 20 watts to 25 watts (uses presets only ... no biggie to me.)

20 watts doesn't satisfy. 25 watts does.

Maybe this is a matter of "you found what works for you so stop second guessing yourself" ?

There is a lot of variables to what your asking. Some of it is personal preference. A higher wattage vape is also a warmer vape which many of us like, but also wattage unlocks flavor. One of my favorite juices vaped in the tootle puffer range is one flavor and that same juice vaped at a high wattage is a complete different flavor. Also higher wattages is more clouds. As you said, if you turn yours up to 25 its too much clouds for you, but that doesnt mean its too much for me or anyone else.
It is all about where your sweet spot is. Like right now I have three vapes I am enjoying. One subtank mini I have at 20 watts, another subtank mini I am vaping at 30 watts and my TFV4 I am enjoying at 90 watts. To me each tank is set at its sweet spot for my enjoyment. One day you too might try some 24 ga or 25 ga coils and find its more to your liking at a higher wattage, or hate it. Its all about how you want to vape and whats the best vape for you.

It's all about the mW/mm^2 and airflow.

I am currently Vaping at 150 watts on a dripper with 28 gauge Clapton coils and a twisted messes dripper. It is a cool vape for me to be entirely honest my 200 watt snow wolf was far better for heat. Not for battery life though. I vape my artic at roughly 120 watts

Sent from my 0PJA2 using Tapatalk

Even vaping at 80 to 90 watts the snow wolf goes thru some batteries.

I have vaped as high of wattage as you are before but I always found that for me, the flavor just wasnt there as it is with a lower wattage. Like my Velocity. I have vaped that at 150 watts a few times and it produces massive clouds but the flavor I find is better on it with the same set up at 60 watts. When I did a quad coil in it of 24 ga, it was actually too much flavor at 200 watts. 10 minutes after putting it down and drinking water I still had that thick syrupy flavor from it.

OK, IOW, why do you guys use wire that takes more power for the same result? It's just a waste of battery.

OR, is there a difference? Since you guys vape up at that level, you would know (I wouldn't, so I'm asking rather than accusing.)

It doesnt really take that much more power.. I was a 29ga guy for the longest time. About 6-7 wraps in the 1.5 ohm region, always running at 15-18w or so depending on the juice. Got my Samurai Bonsai clone one day and was being lazy so I threw in one of the prebuilt coils that came with it. Those were like 24ga, and hit 0.5 ohms. 18 watts was weak. Cranked my Sigelei Mini up to 25w and it was such an awesome vape, like game changing. Was putting out alot more vapor but at the same time the flavor was worlds apart. I thought my DIY juice tasted good before but that made them taste GREAT. I couldnt do that with my 29ga coils without burning up a wick. Once again, a new dripper changed my vaping habits. I immediately bought a spool of 26ga, and started wrapping my coils around 0.8 ohms and there was no going back. Theres maybe a 1A difference in the amount of power Im drawing now, its nothing really. Im using a couple of mechs now so obviously battery life is different but on the regulated Sigelei, my Samsungs and LGs lasted just as long at 0.7-0.8 ohms as they did at 1.5 and gave me all the vape I needed just the same.

You could apply the same power using 29awg as 26awg you just have to wrap parellel coils. Heats up faster too.

That's why I love 29ga; 28ga is just too dang slow at 10w or less. 29ga even works well at my current normal, 8.5-9 watts.

To this day I have STILL not tried any sort of dual coil setup whatsoever hehe. The closest was doing a few twisted wraps with 32ga and 29ga but those were still 'single coils'. I have a new Derringer on the way so maybe Ill give the parallel one a try. I still have an awful lot of 29ga wire left thats just going to sit there for eternity (not to mention the 32ga spool I bought back in my Kanger Evod days). I wonder if I can even do parallel wraps with my Coil Master??

Here in a few days when I get my Velocity and figure out what power supply I want to buy, really thinking about a DNA200 mod, I'm going to do a bunch of experiments with different gauge wires run in parallel so that I can have maximum surface area and minimum coil mass.

Im pretty sure Ive seen it mentioned that you can with the Coil Master. I dont know about 26ga but the 29 should be small enough the screw will still hold it down and wrap it. I just ordered a stainless Derringer and another brass hybrid top to go on my stainless Stingray X so Ill give it a try hehe. Theres a first for everything right? :D
