I don't know either lol. It is close enough.

I got my thermocouple interface to work (finally) so I need to find a block of time to get some data.
Well I looked it up on Wire Wizard at Steam Engine. I plugged in 26awg 5wraps 3mm Ti1 and thats what it came up with for TCR in vaping range. I also plugged in 1mm spacing 20mm leg length

Yes, we understand. We're wondering where steam engine got that number. ;)

Well I was just thinking of getting some 28awg Unkamen and wrapping a 5-6 wrap coil to see if what I think about the Ti mode on the SXM is true. If you have a .45 coil the mode actually works. Just daydreaming about experimenting.

Just bought a roll of 26 & 28 from Unkamen, seems like they have a lot of gauge sizes to choose from, prices much less then ecig sites. Hope it's not too springy, but this site seems to be the site recommended often by the more experienced titanium builders here and in other threads. Thanks to all the trail blazers!

$5.20 Ti Grade 1 Titanium Heating Wire for Rebuildable Atomizers - 26 AWG / 0.4mm*10m at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

this looks like the fully annealed acid pickled 24g jewellery Ti Gr1 I got in the UK months ago. Except its 26g!! Great if its real as it is so easy to wrap. Zero springiness!

Speaking of that, has anyone here tried the "VaporTech" Ti wire? You can find it at most of the Chinese sites like FT and Angelcigs. Just wondering if its matte or shiny and what the quality is.

That's the wire I wrapped the claptons with a couple pages back. Springy and brittle.

Well I'm still in my test period using Unk and Crazy Wire. The Unk is still using about twice the juice as the CW 2 weeks in and still vaping great. If I didn't DIY it would get expensive but I like the vape a lot better then with CW. Going to go 1 more week and see how it cleans up when I rewick but for now I am sold on it. I have 2 STM's with Unk and 1 with CW both same build. The Unk goes through a tank a day the CW about 1/2. But more vapor with Unk at a lower temp. Go figure. And don't get me wrong the CW is still great but the Unk to me is just a little bit better. Oh and also I am no expert just a vaper for 6 years so my testing is by no means from someone who has a lot of equipment to test it just know what I like. And it is a little stiffer the Unk I mean but if you use a coiler like I do a coilmaster and wrap a contact coil then stretch it into a spaced coil it works just fine. I heard that it was partially annealed but IDK about that either and I just take it off the spool, wipe it with alcohol and wrap it no preheating. One thing I do though is after it is wrapped and placed I pulse it at 250F 12J on the SXM in NI200 mode till a little wisp of smoke comes off and thats it, no more.

Yup:

Titanium spool summary: "Authentic Vaper Tech Titanium A1"

Spool and packaging:

Label seen is on both faces of the spool.

Spool attachment method - hole to the face of spool:

Requires peeling-back/removing the label on that face, but there are labels on both faces.

Cleanliness:

Graphite present. At most, same level of graphite as Stealth Vape and Crazy Wire, possibly fractionally less, but definitely requires cleaning.

Thickness (26G):

Callipers varying between 0.40 - 0.41mm, which is correct for 0.405mm 26G

Springiness:

3.0mm Kuro rod, coil expands to 3.27mm = 9% Spring Factor

Compares to: 8.3% Stealth Vape, 8.6% Unkamen, 10% Crazy Wire, 10% 3FVape

Finish:

Shiny (like all except Unkamen)

lars.simonsen@gmail.com seems to be the writer of Steam Engine if you want to know where he came up with the numbers. Not sure if he speaks English but if your Norwegian. LOL Oh just read he reads English also.

Most Swedes and Norwegians are just as fluent in English as they are their mother tongue.

I think that might be the same as TA1 Titanium Wire 30ft - Wick Wire Mesh - RTA’s & RDA’s . If so, I just recently got a spool of it and have made a couple coils. I don't really have much to compare it to since the only other Ti I've used was Spider Silk, but I didn't find it hard to work with.

Why are many pulsing in NI200 instead of the titanium mode? I'm using an IPV D2.
TKS.

I just use it because that is the mode I vape it in also. The temp isn't right in either mode I just want to heat it enough to get that puff of smoke don't want to change colors or anything. I figure that is the extra oils leftover from alcohol wipe.

I got that on Tuesday as well and I'm really happy with it. Clean and easy to wrap, the 28 ga I have zivipf needs to be thoroughly cleaned and lightly torched before it can be used. Thinking of ordering some more 26 ga as well as some 28 ga, even though I have close to 25m of the zivipf 28 ga left.

I was wondering about getting the 28 as well but there is at leasy one review that says it is springy. A bit odd. Maybe there are mixed batches?!
