Thanks Duane for your thoughts on the wire. For shipping cost etc, I'd have to assume while I'm in the USA it's probably not worth getting the stealth vape stuff sent over. Assuming there isn't a local distributor. As they're not making wire I'm sure we will see rebrands of the same stuff start flowing.

Rio grande is extremely soft. I find that a benefit when making the coils in 24 gauge. Especially since one pulse turns it hard effectively and I'm making spaced coils.

I'm probably down the street from you btw!

With the long life of titanium coils, the cost of wire plus shipping from England isn't a big deal in my vape budget. These wire spools weigh next to nothing and if I'm not in a super hurry to get the product I don't find the shipping to be unreasonably expensive. That said if there's a wire I like available in the U.S. I'd certainly prefer to buy that because a penny is still a penny. :)

Fortunately the performance of Grade 1 wire is essentially the same and the only real differences are convenience differences like softness, cleanliness and ease of cleaning old coils.

I didn't realize it was so inexpensive. I was just going to have my nephew grab it for me before his trip but there's no point if I order a bit. I need to find some good 28, I'm happy enough with the 24/26 and between the two have 80 ft

I'd also like to correct an incorrect statement I made. The rio wire and the unkamen wire are the same reflective mess and color. I washed both and built back to back and they look similar to exact in appearance however the malleability of the rio is greater as stated by a long shot. I just built a 4 or 5 wrap 26 gauge 2.5 mm and it's almost .4. Also the DNA 200 seems to work better IMO wih Ti wire. The yihi 350j test firmware does as well but that mod seems to hate half of my atomizers so the jury is out still.

On the DNA 200 it's set almost to the minimum at 220F for a mouth to lung vape from a tai fun get 2 clone. I'm finding it almost difficult to get a good build that's not a super harsh hit with 26. I'll have a play but am open to ideas.

For the first time since using the ti firmware on my sx mini I got the rattlesnaking last night. I'm not sure why I never have before though. I've been running that build for a long time now. At first I thought it was one of my birds making that sound, lol! I have two African Greys. They make interesting sounds all day.

Pete is a Yellow Crowned Amazon, at least 32 years old. He's wild caught so I'll never know his actual age.

Miss Merlin is a Congo African Grey. She will be 25 next month. She's special needs (blind).

Oobie (the bird formerly known as Sophie) is an 8 year old Congo African Grey.

Rowdy is a Nanday Conure. She's 16.

ok, been playingh with the SV Ti wire, 26g. It is the best of any I have tried and I have tried a lot! End of story as far as I am concerned! Worth every penny!
SV = Stealthvape

Or

SV = Sweet Vape

?

There has been confusion about that stuff before and I banged my head several times before realizing two different shops.... [emoji14]

I'm curious as to why everyone is using such thick gauge wire. Even with Kanthal, I use the thinnest possible (32 ga) as I don't care about high ohms with a regulated mod. Thinner has less mass, so heats and cools more quickly. Faster vape, less browning of juice. With Ti, the resistance is far less, so it STILL allows for 8 or 9 wraps with 32ga, so lots of surface area and very fast heat/cool cycle. Am I missing something?
