Well I do the same with underwear wear them for 3 weeks then turn them inside out for another 3.

I noticed that your legs are touching the first coil. Does that matter, I always make sure they aren't. Does it make any diff?
Ok that explains that. That is the hardest part for me when placing the coil.It does look that way in the pic but the legs don't touch, barely. The oxidation layer that forms on Ti is an electrical insulator, so no, it wouldn't matter if they touched.
My observations so far using titanium wire:
I like it in my RDA's 26g I can wrap nice dual builds with reasonable sized coils. Provides a nice warm vape similar to kanthal. I tried a build in my sub tank and was not impressed. 5 spaced wraps 3mm ID ohmed at .27 400degrees on my dna40 at 35watts. Fired warm for the first 2 seconds then immediately dropped off. Was not even hitting near 400 degrees can't explain the throttle down. Flavor was muted considerably compared to the nickel build I had in it previously. Rebuilt it with ni200 and it's awesome again. In summary I like the nickel better in my tanks and I'll stick with titanium for the drippers. Anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I have had that happen in my STminis. Loose post screw, loose rba deck or loose rba pos pin. Undertightened post screws is the most common problem for me. Ti is pretty hard compared to Ni and requires a little extra grunt when tightening those post screws. I anneal my Ti before coiling to help with springiness and to help those post screws get a better bite. I'm very happy with my STminis with Ti builds.
@cigatron,
Did a spaced 6 wrap 26g on 3mm rod (don't have 24g yet) KGD in Subtank Mini. Ohms out perfectly at .30. It's annealed by me. Ti from Unaken. All connections are tight. Lots of vapor on IPV D2, at 25j @ 475 degrees. BUT MUTED FLAVOR.
Same juice, in another Subtank with stock prebuilt .5 ohm Kanthal coil, LOTS OF FLAVOR.
Is there TOO much cotton in a 3mm ID coil? All I can think of!
3mm coil ID is not the problem. Lots of peeps here run them with great results. My brother has the same build as you (6 spacedvwraps, 26g Ti, .32ohms) and runs his D2 at 38j and 540-550°f. He thinks the D2 is badly underheating and gets muted flavor at anything less than his current settings.
Re cotton: kayfun style build decks (st mini included) need A LOT of cotton in the coil, the wick tails barely touching the bottom of the juice well and the wick tails smashed flat against the deck walls to really rock.
Yes I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Seems no matter what I do I get muted flavor. My only other problem is the wick gets dirty very quickly like with in one day. Kanthal gives me leaps and bounds more flavor and cleaner wicks.@cigatron,

Good advice cig I cracked it up high and I get more flavor but still not much. My ti01 is not annealed also. Might try that.
Thanks CIG, I give it a try. Appreciate you confirming its not the cotton.
Wonder what folks really mean "technically" when they say a mod is underpowered? Not firing up to spec or temperature?
Re cotton: I actually said it's not the 3mm coil. It very possibly is the cotton, not enough of it. Flavor will be muted if you don't have the wick pretty tight in the coil.
Re underheated/ing: A term used to identify tc mods that keep coil temp lower than temp setting when temp protect/temp control is engaged.
I'll try more cotton if possible.
The IPV D2, does not show active temp while vaping, only the resistance. I'd like my next mod to have more feedback features.
You should also compare some BBQ while you are there.Yeah, the D2 is kind of feature-less. It vapes great though, according to my brother. Speaking of which, I'm going up to KCMO this weekend to his baby shower, we're going to do some head to head comparisons of underheating and temp control smoothness between my evic and his D2.![]()
