What you said is true. But I like to experiment. It all depends on how many wraps to get acquired resistance. I was able to fit 21 wraps of 28g in Tilemahos.

You wouldn't happen to remember what the resistance was, do you?

I edited my original post because I realized that it came across as somewhat inflammatory and my intention wasn't to incite an argument.

Thank You SSG. I do not like to have arguments on the forums, but only to help each other. Some ppl try to start fighting with me and I simply don't reply back. I can value, and take consideration of someone's opinion but when it turns into an argument, then it is not worth the time. You may simply see things a different way, and that is OK.

To answer your question: The 21 wraps of 28g ESG titanium was a dual coil on Esterigon. The resistance was cut in half due to this so it ended up being 0.4 ohms. If it was one continuous coil, I'm guessing it would be in the range of around 2.1 ohms.

Now that I think of it, maybe I won't try the 50mm titanium after all, due to the fact that even though the ohms might be low. A thick coil takes longer to heat up. I will just stick to 28 or 30g for now. Here is a pic of 21 wraps/dual coil 28g titanium in Tilemahos.

Actually, on my JGG, in my Ithaka, it was heating up just as fast (instantly) as kanthal. I don't know if it was because it was in the mech mod or because of the 7.4v.

Esterigon and GG4S are the only newer GG mods that I don't own, so I don't know if there is anything that would cause the Esterigon to heat the coil more slowly than on the JGG.

so is the ESG stuff the best suited for our use? are there any US vendors selling Grade 1 Ti resistance wire?

i see the etsy link above... is that the same grade 1 as ESGS?

i really wanna try the titanium wire, but want to ensure its ok to use obviously. any help is appreciated!
Titanium grade 1 is only safe to use with VIR. ESG wire is not pure titanium and can be used where kanthal is used. And yes ESG wire seems better thank kanthal.

excuse my ignorance, but what is "VIR"?

so i shouldnt use grade 1 Ti on a mech mod?
VIR is the new chip that is part of proteus mod. It is a temperature control device. Ti should not be used with mechs since its dry burning can lead to white flakes. Oxidation of Ti is not safe.

so grade1 Ti is no good for mechs, but you said that the ESG stuff is ok anywhere kanthal is used? does that mean mechs also?

any oxidation on any wire is dangerous 2click, so VIR is the solution of all vaping issues right now, like burn taste-formaldehyde-acrolein-wire's oxidation.

As for Ti, its the safest wire you can use

but not grade1?

im sorry im not picking up what you 2 are laying down.

i want to run Ti wire on my mech mods... what do i look for?

you can run any Ti on your mechs clicker.

But dont let any of your wires (Ti, nichrome, kanthal, etc) go red hot. Its a procedure that you must NEVER do

well i know for a fact that the kanthal i use gets red hot sometimes (not intentionally). so what levels are the dangers at? any level?

i have dry burned in the past also.

thanks for the help!
