Or you could just plug in your mod....if it sizzles, quickly throw it out the window. Any reason to buy a new mod.
Aw... don't mind me, I was out in the sun all day.

Heh. My last two 'mains' have been Sigelei. I have been lucky(?) enough that I got two mods in a row out of them that were built like tanks. I once dropped the first from the back of a brick porch. It landed square on the tip of the tank and then bounced down every one of ten brick steps. The tank (original Nautilus was on it at the time) flew apart without breaking the glass. The mod didn't even have any serious dings in the coating. I pressed it all back together and kept vaping. I may have to shoot this Fuchai at close range to justify buying a new main mod.

Hey, no reason to leave out the West Coast! ;)

Ride The Ducks of Seattle -

I'm saying for when you are out and about and you need a charge but you want to make sure that the charger you have access to has a safe Amperage. Like, say, your tootle puffer isn't supposed to be charged at more than 1 Amp. All you have access to is your friend's cell phone charger because you are in your friend's car running errands. You don't know if your friend's charger is 0.5, or 1.0, or even a 2 Amp charger. You could just plug their cord in to your phone and check with this kind of app.

If the charger is in the mod, the wall wart output merely needs to be rated equal or higher than what the charger is rated for. The charger will determine the current it needs, the wall wart doesn't push it in. If the wall wart is say 500 mA output and the mod can charge at 1 amp, either it will seem to take forever to charge, or the wall wart will fail. (If it fails, it may or may not damage anything on the output side, depending on failure mode. I.e. the mod...)

Let me give you an example:

I have a Vaporesso Aurora. The specs on that little stealth vape tell me to charge it at a maximum of 1 Amp, and it came with a USB cable that fits into any one of a bazillion car cigarette lighter chargers. I have several car cigarette lighter based USB chargers from various sources. Many other people probably do as well. I have seen them rated at anywhere from less than 0.5 Amp to more than 2.0 Amps. Several weeks ago I absentmindedly plugged my Aurora into the 2 Amp car cigarette lighter charger that is meant for my cell phone, because it was low and I was going to a back yard party, and I have two car cigarette lighter ports on my dash and center console. After driving for a while I picked it up to move it and it was extremely hot. I'd rather not heat up any of my vapes in that manner. It seems pretty dangerous, and it can't possibly be good for the mod. Now, if your mod has protection that will not allow that to happen, that's great. I'd rather not risk it though.

Point taken! My observation about my use and charging mods in the car....the app is great and would probably use it in the first week or so due to the novelty factor. After that, well, I got in the habit of checking the mod after a few minutes. If it feels warm, stupid used the wrong plug, better change it. I here a dual port plug in my car, one is 1 amp, the other 2 amps.

While it's still on my mind I wanted to bring something up; USB cable charger Amp ratings. A while ago I downloaded an Android app for my cell phone on a whim. It tests your current charge rate when you plug a charging cable into your phone. It seems to be accurate. The name is Ampere and it is available on the Google Play Store for free. I'm sure that there are other apps that do the same thing so I'm not so much recommending this particular app. But I am recommending that people who can use an app of this nature should have an app like this. I just recently (Doh!) realized that this is pretty handy for making sure that you don't charge a mod's battery at too high of an Amp rating if you end up in situations where you may not be carrying the charger designed for your particular mod. Seeing how this is the tootle puffer thread I would imagine that there are a lot of people visiting in who use mods with internal batteries and could use something like this as a safety feature. You could plug your phone in first, read the Amp rating, and then use the charger if it is within the safe parameters of your device.

I tend to use mods with 18650's in them but I do have a device with an internal battery. I will also shortly have a total of two devices that can be charged via USB even though they use 18650's. But I don't charge via USB unless the device requires it. I have an Efest LUC 4 that I use religiously because I'm paranoid. But if you do want an app like this, here's a link to Ampere:

Ampere - Android Apps on Google Play

I haven't tried the app, but it sounds like a good way to check your phone's current draw.

I bought this one a couple of years ago. Just plug it inline between your USB power source and your device and it reads the voltage and current being delivered. It's quick, easy, and cheap at $10.99.

USB devices use a current limiting resistor to set the maximum current level that the device will draw. That circuit allows you to use a high amp USB charger and not burn up your device. Still, it's best to use the charge port that produces less heat in the device. Who knows if the current spec is correctly implemented in a given USB device? It's normal for a USB device to get a little warm during charging.

And cig lighter adapters are all over the board... as are many in-the-mod chargers.

A bit of excitement in Motown today - my RX75's came in from 3avape! 12 days from order to arrival, pretty good for Chinese free shipping. One to play with, one for the stockpile, less than 33 bucks shipped. I like the squeeze to fire, set it and forget it and so do my Vivi Novas and Eggrolls.

Would this be referred to as the EggReleaux?:D

Definitely crickets chirping around here today.

Can tell TC is making a difference, when I first tried the SS drip tip on the doggy it was getting too hot, even at 12ish watts. Running at 440*F and I can use my SS drip tip without any overheating.
