Trolls - and their allegiance

It is a definite yes that all the "insert conspiracy theory spy entity here" constituents are here present and not accounted for. They may in fact be being helpful, if they are here making the effort to gather enough material to damage vaping in general or form some kind of report I do not think they would sabotage the time investment by trolling. But that's just me.

Unless they were to represent themselves as a clueless vaper who always tasted grammas skin when vaping  (sorry just had to sorry if it goes over your head)

As for the moderator sucking up/bashing or whatever;

These people are doing work for no pay, on their own time (or their bosses time). They are following their own set of rules, just like we are supposed to follow the rules that apply to members. If you think you can do a better job then you should apply when they need moderators and do so. If you think they are just doing their job poorly, see previous statement. If you just want to complain and be difficult... Hello Troll.

Rules, I will have to admit, I have not read them. (Is that breaking a rule in and of itself?) I keep meaning to but man, that is a lot of words and I have limited time. There are these people called moderators, as long as I am not too much of a jerk I shouldn't have to worry, and if I am one of them will be kind enough to point me to the specific rule that I broke. I did read the classiffieds/co-ops rules. :p

Just want to make it clear that what I said about the mods was a joke. I love it when they cut loose a bit and wouldn't want their job even if it paid a gazillion. Pretty sure they get a lot of animosity aimed at them behind the scenes. I'm sure you realized that but just want to make sure there's no misunderstanding on anyone's part. They do a heck of a job.

I thought pregnancy testing included in utero screening for potential coil builders and the sort of people that are born knowing Ohms law.

Unfortunately, they are precisely the people that find me at parties and vape meets. So being an elite vaper .........i say i'm a veteran vaper and deaf in which ever ear you are talking to.

Of course they know better than me. I don't go to many parties now!

Kind of like saying I haven't notice any spies. You won't unless they screw up.

The ones we coming call trolls are nothing more than juvenile delinquents.

If the big boys send in a troll, we will never know it.

Yeah, I think that's probably true. The one poster that I first thought was a troll, I've since decided is just terminally, willfully stupid, and put that poster on my ignore list. Of course, being terminally, willfully stupid doesn't necessarily mean that poster is NOT a troll, but I tend to agree with Wonner, real BP/BT trolls are probably not quite that stupid.

Since this has evolved into a suck up to the mods thread at the moment ;)

Which side is the bread buttered? It is important to always know the answer to that question! ;)

-- My Disqus profile is banned from ABC, CBS, and CNN (among others). My Livefyre account has been suspended at least 20 times. If I post a comment on a story on HuffPo, first I get about 100 or so death threats in my "other" folder on Facebook and then my post gets deleted... I could type a couple of paragraphs and continue that story... Granted, I understand those who think politically different than I do wanting to maintain the integrity of their echo chamber, but it makes me appreciate forums like this one where I'm more or less free to say what I think and join whatever thread interests me without being censored. The only people I can thank for that are the mods.

I think sometimes it just comes down to understanding the difference between a debate and getting .... hurt when someone doesn't agree.

There's a poster on here I've had a couple of recent disagreements with. He has one idea about the way certain things are happening and I have a different view.

But isn't that the core of a discussion forum? To bring together people who have different views and discuss them in a forum of peers?

This same poster has liked a couple of my posts and I believe I've liked a few of his. Just because we disagree about something doesn't mean we have to disagree about everything.

I think that's honestly where it breaks down at times. If someone disagrees with me that's fine. I don't mind at all, especially if the state their reasons and put their side out there. Those following the discussion can listen to both sides and make their own conclusion on which the believe to be most accurate. But when someone doesn't agree then just automatically disagrees with every thing that person says from that point on, that's where problems arise

But honestly the best way to combat that is to simply present you're ideas in the clearest way possible and if someone disagrees rather because they truly do our even just for spite just accept that's their right and move on. If you can't with good argument get them to see your side of it, then just accept that you never will.

Either way it doesn't make then a troll, at least in my opinion

And another thing:

I want to be able to post in the New Users Forum.

Yes, I know I have a huge post count, and yes I am an established elite vaper, but I got some stuff to say to those young punks.

When your done working on Post # 131, please address this issue promptly.

We have a ticket system. Why don't you log one to get your work done?

We'll get around to it. *snicker*

I like to pretend that I am sitting in front of the person....I think a lot of times people will say things on the Internet that they would never dream of saying to a person in front of them,,,

I don't think it is disagreement per se as much as it is the language and tone one uses while disagreeing.

How about the username? :D I'd be sent to the corner for a week if I reposted it here.

Yeah I was wondering about the name filter....but then when pbusardo starts every vid with "Can I taste your juice?" and there is a youtubez reviewer called s--k my mod....well...times are different.

Trolling implies a certain hidden agenda to me. BT and BP would never bother - they have openly advertised to pay vapers that have had any side effects to contact them and get paid to tell their stories!

I much prefer a good old saute'ed trolling, which at least teaches me a few recipes, rather than the usual diet of misinformation and spurious links i can get from the media.

And never confuse trolling with a bloody good argument as to the merits of different hardware. i say potato...

Well said..

We do have a Bootcamp for learning how to have debates appropriately on ECF, that also includes a free "thicken your hide" course. It's called the OUTSIDE!!

Since you mentioned it (which we shouldn't be doing), you had a "Rule Reminder" that showed up in your Infractions tab. It's where Reminders and Infractions go. That was a warning. An infraction carries points. Points stack up with repeated infractions and have consequences. There are no limits to the number of Reminders you can get, but there is definitely a limit on the number of Infractions you collect.

Jerry has been around for almost 5 years, and it's become a sort of a joke that he does not have a single Reminder/Infraction yet. Does that mean he is flawless? no.. it just means that he knows how to play within the rules. Not that hard once you get that part figured out.

I have a question about this... I have 2, what I thought were 'infractions,' but there don't seem to be any points attached, so I guess they were just reminders -- do they ever fall off completely? Or do we have to look at them forever everytime we go to the My Settings page?
