The Okra is a thickening agent. You could use a roux instead, I guess, but it wouldn't really be the same.

I see what you did there, and I quite agree with you! To be fair, I live in one of the regions that voted yes (West Dunbartonshire) for independence so I feel quite at peace with the result. It was never going to be a Yes win anyway; Scots people love to moan but are notorious for not doing anything about doing it.
