Yeah that is how I felt about it too Classy...but the Cajuns think you are being sacrilegious if you leave it outta the Gumboz....People have gone missing for less in the Bayou....

You can't make no Gumbo without the Okra you!

The Okra is a thickening agent. You could use a roux instead, I guess, but it wouldn't really be the same.

I can eat it (after soaked in salt water) smashed flat, rolled in egg then corn meal and crispy fried...but that's it.
If it's in anything...it gets shoved to the side.

You won't eat my shrimp and okra curry?!

The quality of trolling in this thread reminds me of the sex thread on Board Game Geek; one of the tamest things I've read on the Internet. ;)

You would know something about "tame" coming from Scotland. Now there's a place where people complain for hundreds of years about how mean the English were to them, but then when they get a chance to secede from Great Britain, they get timid and run for the hills. Talk about tame!

(that's how you troll someone :) )

That's mean. No more Scotch for you.

I loved Scotland, stunningly beautiful and you got to love the hairy cows.

I see what you did there, and I quite agree with you! To be fair, I live in one of the regions that voted yes (West Dunbartonshire) for independence so I feel quite at peace with the result. It was never going to be a Yes win anyway; Scots people love to moan but are notorious for not doing anything about doing it. :)
