I have been trying to follow this thread, but I don't have time to go sifting through 40 pages. Does anyone know the date that this will be voted on?

I already picked up another mech, but I'm debating on whether I want to shell out for an SX mini M class, now, or wait until a dual 18650 mod comes out cheaper than the Boxer mod.

I also am thinking about buying nic, but I've never mixed my own juice before, and don't even know where to start with flavorings or hardware supplies.
I do have a strong chemistry background, so the mixing and calculations aren't the issues. It's really what supplies are important that I don't know about

Really folks, It's losing battle if you get the true meaning of this. It's regulation, once regulated it can taxed and monitored for compliance. I'd say once it all comes down the DIYer will be the most hurt. What finally got you vaping, for most it was the high taxes on cigarettes. Back in 2008 it's wasn't a big deal "a fad", they said, and I was the weird guy puffing on a pen with a light on the end. Now with huge numbers vaping and sales well into the tens of billion dollars and climbing, the governments are wanting their share. Why is it a losing battle, less than 2% of Americans vape but it can generate huge taxes once it's controlled and regulated. Once it shakes out it most certainly will cost you more, a lot more. The real battle is not protecting your local vape store, your favorite custard, or cool PV, it's how much are you willing to pay to vape.

...

There Isn't a Vote for the FDA Rules to get thru the OMB/OIRA.

It will be Reviewed, Possibly Amended/Changed, and then Approved by the OMB/OIRA. The Senate wants the OMB/OIRA to "Fast-Track" things. But most people think they will Not.

So we are Probably looking at somewhere between 90 ~ 120 Days.

Your numbers are Not Very Current. Check out this Thread...

5 New Estimates on E-Cigarette Use

I agree that there will be New Taxes. But let me ask You a question.

If we All sit back and Do Nothing, how Confident would that make Lawmakers feel when they go to Draft Proposed Tax Legislation at Both the Federal and the State/Local Level?

I listened to the recording that included Mr. Godshall. It appears the participants believe restrictions would take a year or two to kick in but I'm going ahead with one more nic buy anyway and take a bit more time deciding about hardware.

In Malasyia, as we speak, Health Ministry swat teams are rapelling into vape shops and and confiscating e liquid. I wish somebody over there would put some video of that happening on youtube. That might rally the troops.

Apparently the OMB has the option of telling the FDA to go back to the drawing board and that might kill the effort. When-you-wish-upon-a-star...

Yea we can kick up a little dust. A politician is like an dog after a bone when it comes to taxing a few. Easy pickens not many lost votes. I've been fighting the fight since 2008, and I'm tired. Like a lot of others I have a lifetime supply for what ever happens.

JMHO but, get some nicotine stored away in your freezer. The other supplies will be available and you can read the DIY section here at ECF to learn more about it before taking the plunge on the other supplies. This will tell you everything that you need to know about storing nicotine long term kurtnicstorage

Vape shops should all be doing the following...

--Check out SFATA at the very least, and join if possible
--Send all of their customers to CASAA to at least sign up and be counted

Madvapes definitely knows what is going on.
But you may want to stop by anyway, because it must be an awesome place!
:)

Exactly and I have needed a reason to stop by and check them out anyway ;)

Thanks Salemgold. I already started looking into the DIY section. I was planning on getting nic from Myfreedomsmokes. Any thoughts on their product? I have been slowly cutting back on my nic anyway. And am down to 1.5mg. I am pretty sure I'll be off it at some point in the net few months. So If the ban will not go into effect, I may end up with way more nic left over.

That's why I'm also equally interested in stocking up on tanks and RDAs.

My liter bottle of nic came from MFS. It's fine. I'll get a couple more from them. Don't be intimidated by all the gourmand talk in the DIY section. I bought just one flavor, called Cuppucinno by Cappella, also from MSF and added 3.5% to my first batch and it was better than any pre mix I've tried and my vaping buddies at work liked it too. DIY does not need to be complicated. Once you've made a batch or two you'll kick yourself for waiting and you might not feel the need for store bought pre mix.

I know people who Deal with State Policy makers. These Policy Makers have kinda an inside joke when it comes to Taxes.

"It Isn't if a Tax is Fair. Or even if the Tax does what we say it is Supposed to Do. It's how Few People does it Piss Off? And will there be any Political Blow Back from it?"

I'm kinda Tired of the Fight Myself. But I'm not quite ready to Lay Down and become a Door Mat to whatever comes down the Line.

I have More than a Lifetime of what I need to Ensure my Vaping isn't effected. But that Isn't why I keep Fighting.

I keep Fighting so a Current Smoker can have a Decent Chance of Success when they decide to Switch. Perhaps not as Good as I had. But a Decent Chance.

“The premature disclosure of this unverified but confidential information during a period when the regulation remains under review by the Executive Branch is of serious concern,” she (Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash.) said.

--

“I would be very concerned to learn that TVECA gained access to confidential information about federal policymaking on such critical issues ahead of the public,” Murray said in her letter.

Oh Yeah... It would just be Terrible if people Actually knew what was going on with a 7 Billion Dollar Industry that effects the Lives of 3% ~ 15% of the United States Population.

Better to keep things like this Hidden and Out of Sight.

Never throw away a bargaining chip until you absolutely have to.
If you throw it away for no reason, it becomes useless, and you've just lost a lot of ground.

Well, not only that, the 'purist' smear is totally out of context - it might sound good or even reasonable, (ie sound reasonable not really reasonable), if we were actually in a negotiation with something on the table, but that's not the case. We are on the eve of a final rule or worse. (without intervention from a GF date change from Congress). So whether we are 'purists' or 'willing compromisers' is rather moot, "at this juncture". :- )

Apparently only when they want us to know.

It's sort of difficult to blindside the vaping community when the information leaks out ahead of time. These guys are just desperate to kill vaping, and they've got to hurry before any Republicans can make noises.
