My husband tried vaping with me. For whatever reason it just never stuck with him. I don't think he cares to look for juices, or equipment ... he just wants nicotine and a cigarette is the easiest way to get it. So he tries to cut down .. occasionally uses the patch on trips.

The thing is ... we used to go out on the porch and have a smoke "together". It was one of our "things we did". I can go out and vape with him, but I'm not going to go out every hour or more in winter time. I'd prefer to stay in the house because I can. So I do go out with him occasionally .. but it's not the same.

He realizes this so it's not a big deal. It's just a change we needed to get accustomed to.

My wife is a vaper too... we started at the same time and supported each other.

There were people in the beginning who were negative or skeptical... that wore off and they are all impressed now that we've been off of tobacco for so long.

A lot of non vapers don't seem very interested in the health benefits but they do find technology and culture interesting.

One thing that really helped was educating people about the scene. With some of them I was showing them my devices and mods and telling them about the voltage, what it was called etc etc... now they ask about what device I'm using or whatever. With others I would share lingo or acronyms which they found interesting. Some people found the flavor selection interesting and now they're curious about what juice I'm vaping.

For smokers that act negative about it... I remind them that their cigarette tobacco gets coated with over 500 separate chemicals before they even wrap it with paper and then I say "eew."

I'm pretty sure that non smokers think were goofy for being addicted in the first place and I know that smokers take it personally when you explain "mine's healthier than yours".

I try to skip the health argument all together... it seems to be a turn off unless you're talking to someone who smokes and really wants to quit. The most I say is that I feel like I never smoked and in some cases I tell them it's great to be addicted without having to put the tar and carcinogens into my body but I usually try to skip that.

This was kind of off topic but hopefully you can get something from it.

Best, CB

I have a passive aggressive husband when I comes to my vaping. He has been after me for the 10 yrs we have been together about my smoking. Hell he used to buy my patches for me, then he was mad that they didn't work. Fast forward 5 yrs, he shows me an ad for an ecig, I blew it off. Then I went on my own to get a green smoke kit I even used it for a day without him noticing I wasn't smoking. Then I let the cat out of the bag so to speak and told him what I was up to. He was all for it when he thought I was going to save money and stop vaping. In all honesty that's what I wanted when I started too. I was already planning on stuff I was gonna buy with all the money I saved!

That all changed when I started buying other equipment. Now he resents that I vape, and he looks at me like I am smoking a crack pipe or something. I have been asked by him when I am going to stop vaping and I told him flat out I DON'T see that happening, I might however drop to no nic, but not today, and I won't be pressured as to when either!
Getting a mod for my 10 yr anniversary is NOT in my future......

It really upsets me that I am so excited and eager to learn and he is so not interested. Kind of hurts my feelings, def makes me feel lonely, guess that's why I spend so much time on here, o and he resents that as well "u lookin at vape stuff again?"
I mean I at least can fake that I care about football and auto racing, can't he support one thing for me?:glare:

*lol* Trying to understand a woman is like trying to understand the universe. You may think you have it all figured and then you get thrown for a loop.

She she smokes you can't really throw an "well at least I'm not smoking" at her without making it seem like a dig at her :( If you get some sort of good flavor juice and ask her to try it she might think you're trying to tell her she's fat and should vape sweets instead. You just can't win so you have to perverse till she comes around.

i got her to try a few flavors with the help of a freind who hooked her up with her own ego! she likes the coffee alot and will try "some" flavors but some of them she reads the name of and goes "naaa" i tryed telling her you cant judge vapor like that you just gotta try it, it will supprise you. but yeah oh well atleast progress is being made! just got my packed from VB and she runs up "what flavors ya get? are you ordering more this week?" lol atleast i can order w/ out hiding it now! :)

Yikes, If you read my earlier post in this thread youll find I went through the SAME with my DH. Hang tight to your PV, tell him to leave you alone and eventually it does work it's way out. Just don't let him bully you into quitting. Your doing great......I bet you can even get a mod for your anniversary if you work on him :) hugs and good luck.

My bf is a non-smoker and he is not happy that I haven't just "quit completely" and that I am spending $$$ on e-cigs. He also constantly complains about the smell and doesn't want me to use my e-cig in my own apartment (which he doesn't live in). I can use the least smelliest juice and he will still complain.

I'm quoting the above, but I could quote lots of you! I would never put up with a BF/GF giving me cr*p about smoking OR vaping. I've been married over 30 years. my smoking was never a problem before we got married (including the year I lived with him). but the minute we got home from the honeymoon it was a problem. what? too bad so sad. so for all these years I have put up with his cr*p. I never agreed to go outside to smoke. he doesn't harrass me about vaping or stopping vaping. but he won't let me vape in his car and he doesn't seem happy or proud that I stopped my 40+ cigs a day habit. I still smoke 2 cigs a day (it might be just because I am that stubborn) and I smoke them in the (my) house and I vape in the house and in my car

from what I've seen people don't get better about that stuff after marriage, in fact it gets worse. so if they are giving you a hard time before marriage....it will only get worse.

edit: I'll give my DH credit for not bothering me about the money I've spent though!

If she's like this and you're not even married.... It won't bet any better. Something to think about before you marry her.If she's like this about vaping, she's going to be like this about other Things too.

I wish I could "like" a post 1000 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh, and for the OP, I still love my little joye 510's almost a year later

Detroit - Good job! Just keep searching for juice. :)

Tell fiance that how they come up with some of the names .... no one knows. I think they try to name them something no one else is using yet to be unique, but all the common sense, you-have-an-idea-of-what-they're-talking-about names are taken. I got one called "Sunset Dreams"...... ???? I tried it and still don't know what it's supposed to be.

A few I like are from Vapor Room -
Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble
French Vanilla Coffee
Cinnamon Danish Swirl
Red Energy (like a Red Bull)
Creme de Menthe - this is good but pretty strong though, so it's a once in a while thing. And of course all are GREAT with just a touch of sweetener.

@ Beans, my10 yr anniversary is tomorrow, so I won't hold my breath, but I will not stop vaping either!! I bought some stuff to build a box mod hoping maybe we could do something together? We don't work well as a team, so idk. He is off work the rest of the week, so maybe he can help me build a mod, but I don't seeing him buying me one! :)
