when i smoked tobacco i smoked hand rolled organic tobacco or drum, minus the little filter gadgets you see some using. i smoked fairly heavily and frequently. at this month's christmas party a boss of mine told me he'd sometimes watch me smoking outside in between studying and serving customers, and it seemed to him like i was trying to extract all that i could from my portion of tobacco. i felt 2 hours was double what was comfortable for me to go between cigarettes, but would tolerate it for work or classes. if i had to go without a smoke for 2.5+ hours i would become pretty agitated, shaky, and dizzy. i could go on, but i think i've made a clear point of my melodrama when abstaining from cigarettes for a temporary or undetermined amount of time.
i've recently picked up a job working the door at a privately owned venue and the breaks are pretty sparse and a good night, and nonexistent on a busy night. i've worked for 6 hours and was allowed one 5 min break, where i could choose to use my pv or use the washroom. the next week i had only time for a few puffs before i had to slip it into my pocket and continue serving patrons. this past friday i forgot my fully charged battery at home, and the battery i had with me had died after a few puffs.
since using a pv i definitely feel as if my cravings are less emotionally and physically intense than was the case with tobacco. while i definitely crave nicotine as i did before, the intensity of it measures slightly above my need for caffeine. i can also now survive comfortably without vaping for about 3 hrs. it definitely feels more productive and less distressing, which is another definite plus for exchanging habits. i also wonder if this is partially because my vaping sessions can be rather continuous while i can the appropriate time, so abstaining for an indeterminate amount of time is less demanding.
anyone else feel the same way?

Also cause of the other substances in tobacco, even organic tobacco. Leaving out the whole tobacco alkaloid in favor of just the nicotine. Or at least that would be my guess.

Difference might be like drinking a soda and drinking coffee. Both get you caffeine but one has a whole bunch of other stuff in it.

I'm not a doctor I just play one on TV :)

I have no urgency at all now. While I love to vape and I vape for hours on end, I can go a whole day without a vape and not have a nagging need or even a thought about it. When I was smoking that was not the case at all. And if I had a drink, cigs were an absolute MUST. I feel bad saying this but I have overdrawn my bank account for 1 pack of smokes. I am so glad to be free of that nagging anxious feeling.

I feel exactly the same way as Mariah - no urgency - I used to take at least 5-6 small breaks at work every day when I smoked - now I don't even vape at work at all! Nor do I really think about it - I vape quite a lot at home and definitely in the car...yes I totally agree - I love feeling free from needing to smoke! :)

My personal experience tends to support what others have already said.

I vape 36mg nic, and am considering a nic concentration that I can't mention on these boards. I vape fairly frequently during the day and evening hours, and again, right before turning in. I consume a lot of nic. I happened to get ahold of a bottle of juice from someplace that I don't recall, now, and tried that continuously for two or three days. Deciding that I'd buy a bottle of that flavor, I got out my glasses to see what it was, and where to get it, and discovered that I'd been vaping zero nic for at least two days straight--with no effecta that anyone would label withdrawl.

My conclusion is that nic isn't as addictive as we've been led to believe, and that it's something else in the cigs--which I don't miss at all.

The first time I started vaping (2 years ago) I noticed the same thing. A few weeks into vaping, and I realized I had been awake hours without my morning vape.

I'm on my second time as a vaping newbie, and am again seeing the same thing. It used to be habit to sit down in the morning and check my email while I smoked 1 (or 2, or 3) analogs to get me awake and ready for the day. Just today I noticed I had finished going through emails before I even picked up my pv. I am looking forward to being able to go longer without.

I thought it was just me that had experienced this! LOL
