Well the Jeep I've been looking at for months has disappointed me. Apparently a kid keyed all the cars in the poor guy's lot since the last time I looked at it. So my nearly pristine looking black Jeep now has scratches all over one side of it. We started it up for the first time today and it had some hesitation so we were thinking there might be a problem with the battery. Then we took it out for a test drive. I drove it around a parking lot. Turn radius is good. We learned that the #3 on the AC does not work. #1, #2, and #4 work great. The heat smells like burning solder but other than that it blasts heat well. It tracks strait when you take your hands off. Has disc, not ABS breaks. The muffler is starting to sound loud but nothing major. Has a coating of rust underneath but no holes. So then we ran a vin search. Its been in 4 accidents, 2 of which the airbags were deployed. The front bumper is hanging on by a
thread. I think it's missing a bracket. The right rear view window doesn't adjust electrically. Theres a spot of bondo underneath the Jeep logo on the back hatch door. & the 4 wheel drive stick was nearly impossible to move into the 4wd gears. (I don't know what that suggests) Half of the back axle box was wet. I'm not sure what the liquid was. It has a check engine light but the guy says that he believes its a loose hose in the engine compartment and he will fix it when I purchase it. OH, and, when I parked it in the parking lot, the battery died and we had to ask someone to bring us back to the dealership. Its a 2005 Jeep Liberty Sport, trail rated. All this for just $6500!!

We're going to offer him $4200 and we're going to hope to get it for less than 5300. Even in "Fair" condition with 120k miles a 2005 Jeep Liberty is worth 7,500. SO if I can get all this fixed, does anyone think this is a good deal, or should I be looking else ware? mehhhhh. I need a vehicle asap.
