Jelly Bean works just fine on my Galaxy Nexus, 1.2ghz dual core. Quads are the talk of the town these days. 8 cores are out for laptops and desktops. There will always be a new tech level we feel obligated to buy.

the 8 cores have been around a couple months now, i just recently updated my mainboard on the desktop...right when they came out newegg had a special going for 165 bucks on a brand spanky new AMD 8 core...so i jumped on it...overclocked up to 4.2 Ghz atm....next move is to move my OS's onto SSDs that fit into the PCI express slots so i have everything right on the board, found them on sale awhile back, saw some @ 120 for 40 gigs, just enough to drop an OS onto, if i grabbed a couple of those i could keep my extra storage on my seagate 7200 RPM HDD and kick the OS portions into 6th gear.

I'm way behind on upgrading my desktop. Since my wife and I bought laptops the desktop only does gaming. She gave her desktop to a BIL. I've built every desktop I've owned since the late 80s. Newegg and Tiger Direct are my favorite suppliers.

Just for reference, my gaming desktop is still on an AGP board with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ with a Radeon 3850 video card and it's maxed out at 2G ram. I bought the video card used from a private Ebay seller. It was the highest frame rate AGP card made. Past that point, I've got to buy a new motherboard, processor, PCI video card, and ram. I think my Antec 700 watt PS and my ATX gaming case will be just fine.

These days, unless you happen to run across a deal on parts, buying an entire package can be almost as good. I picked up a black Friday deal from Newegg last Christmas on a full size desktop that runs rings around the one I described above. I gave that one to my Mother for Christmas. She had an HP that maxed out at 512K ram. If was time! I got tired of it taking 3 hours to run a virus scan and upgrade her OS and hardware. When I was over there, I'd start maintenance. By the time we had supper and talked for a while, it would only be about 30% complete. Sheesh! The new one can do that stuff in 15 minutes.

Tried out the nexus 7 today, and aside from the lack of LTE, it's a solid device...still not quite Samsung calibre, (my note 2 blew it away) but great value for what's actually pushing the device.

The screen is gorgeous and the camera was better than anything else I've seen LG do (slight blue color, but hardly noticeable). I picked up a nexus 7st Google I/O and use it almost as much as I do my t-prime.

I think the hardware race is finally at a plateau, and the developers at the various houses can focus on really refining and advancing the Android OS and it's associated software :)

I don't know if you were just comparing it to LG but the Nexus 7 is made by Asus. I'm torn now, I was all ready to get a Nexus 10 but there have been less than stellar reviews on it from tech websites such as CNet and Engadget. The Transformer Prime TF700 looks really nice though!!

I recently bought the Greg Allman e-book "My Cross to Bear". It's about his life with the Allman Brothers Band. It has loads of video and audio dispersed among the chapters as you read. There's probably 25 video and audio files and all of those pages have a message that says, " There is audio/video content at this location that is not currently supported for your device". As I began to look for the right player, I found out that these books support Apple IOS and the Kindle is restricted from using the player. Only Apple tablets can play the content.

Anyone else run into this? Does it make you furious that Amazon would offer this edition of the book for more money and download it directly to your Kindle, only to find out that it's not compatible? Would a Quicktime app allow viewing of these videos and songs?

Heck no! Apple is lame! Lol Does anyone know if I trade in my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus to Best Buy, can it be rooted? I want the Asus TF700t and it would be nice to get $100 through the trade in program at best buy!!

Why not just use Wugresh's toolkit that can be found on most Android forums and un-root it? Best Buy will probably not take it rooted, the warranty is void that way.

Awesome! Thanks.

No problem, some people think it's cheating, because it does everything for you. I think its awesome I don't have to use ADB sand copy and paste commands. If you need a link let me know and I'll PM you one, but my guess is you know how to work the search function of your computer or phone. His toolkit is very popular so it shouldn't be hard to find:D Let me know if you need any help.

I'd like your opinion and others opinion here as well...should I get a Nexus 10 or an Asus TF700t? They both look like awesome devices but I have called around everywhere locally (Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot and Walmart) and no one carries the Nexus 10 in store! I would sure like to at least hold one before I buy it, ya know?
