otherwise I suppose there's the chance that you didn't have the same reaction quitting smoking because your lungs weren't trying to process out all of that gunk while you were still introducing a new substance to them. I had a sore throat for a week or two and when I would lay down especially there was a wheezing sound coming from my throat that did also feel tight. I had only been smoking for about a year. I have quit once before, also after smoking for a year and I didn't get that same problem. It probably has a lot to do with the tar or whatever it is getting loosened in your lungs but also pushed back into them in a sense and causing new side effects.
