Alright I would not suggest you continue with the PG because I do not want you to harm yourself or die. I do suggest trying VG and I am certain you can find this (or it may be called "non-PG") at this website Johnson Creek Original Smoke Juice - The Best E-Liquid in the World - Made Right Here in America

otherwise I suppose there's the chance that you didn't have the same reaction quitting smoking because your lungs weren't trying to process out all of that gunk while you were still introducing a new substance to them. I had a sore throat for a week or two and when I would lay down especially there was a wheezing sound coming from my throat that did also feel tight. I had only been smoking for about a year. I have quit once before, also after smoking for a year and I didn't get that same problem. It probably has a lot to do with the tar or whatever it is getting loosened in your lungs but also pushed back into them in a sense and causing new side effects.

I'd add my voice to the calls suggesting perseverance. Vaping is different for everyone because smoking is different for everyone. That's why NRT is so unsatisfactory for the majority of folks trying to quit the habit - it's a very complex set of personalized addictive behaviours and responses.
It does sound like you may be having a bad reaction to the PG (not that I would know from personal experience - I'm fine with PG, VG, both together, but some folks are not so lucky.) If you haven't tried VG-based liquid, it's only a small extra investment to get a bottle and give it a go.

You may also find that that particular device is not for you - whether you want to invest in more kit to try is, of course, up to you. But a lot of people have reported that their first model x didn't do it for them, but then they found model y or z, and that hit the spot. Everyone's different I guess.
Fortunately there's the classified forum where you can trade or sell off equipment that's not right for you. If you know any vapers in RL, maybe you could maybe try their setup before deciding what platform (if any) is right for you.

It's true that "at least the effects of cigarettes are known" - unfortunately, they're known to be very bad indeed. They contain all the same chemicals as you'll get from vaping, plus another 4000 or so (including the carcinogenic ones.) The glycol content of cigarettes is a lot lower of course, so if it's an allergy issue that might account for it.

Good luck wherever you go with it!

10 to 1 that this:

"Now this morning I didn't even go to class because I felt extremely tired and coughing all the time (I'm a 21 year-old college student)."

Is just Cigarette withdrawal (that you would have got anyway if you had quit cold turkey) and that this:

"Before I went to bed last time I felt my throat as if it was tight and a certain discomfort right below my throat, as if it was pulsing."

is a PG allergy.

And how can you be sure that e-cigs are not as bad? Has it been tested?
You guys are missing the point here, these products are manufactured in china and god knows what they do in those factories.

Do you think that if someone dies from an e-cig the factory in China will be sued? This will never happen. We have no warranty that these products are safe, the only INDICATION that it is safe is from the companies that sell them.

Stop acting like little children and grow up and FACE THE FACTS. The FDA is created to regulate food and drugs. They need way more than a petition to approve something. THEY NEED SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCES that these products are actually safe. And please, don't show those amateur toxicology tests from New Zealand because they are BS and not reliable.

I definitely want to quit, but my days of vaping are over.

To all the kind folks here trying to help this person:
STOP.
Polaroid is not looking for help or suggestions, he is looking for a fight. Be glad...lol...that I am not a Mod around here. This dude wouldnt have one more post going up anywhere! Polaroid, have you considered that your symptoms are not even "vaping related"? Maybe you are in the beginning stages of something caused by your admitted cigarette addiction? We are all here to support eachother for a common goal, and common interests. Someone with Polaroids lack of self control should be banned. Its uncalled for, unwarrented, and unsolicited. May I suggest to you Polaroid, you join another forum, in a far off land. May I suggest to the moderators, that they remove his membership. Unbelievable.

Hello everyone,

It's sad but it is true. At least for me. I bought a Njoy NPRO last saturday because I really wanted to quit smoking. The first few days I really liked it. I had not smoked an analog since saturday and I was very happy until yesterday.

Before I went to bed last time I felt my throath as if it was tight and a certain discomfort right below my throat, as if it was pulsing. Now this morning I didn't even go to class because I felt extremely tired and coughing all the time (I'm a 21 year-old college student).

I was smoking regular strengh cartridges that had been purchased from NJOY.

This is just not good for me. I have spent aprroximetely $90 on a product that is certainly doing harm to me.

I have never had any of these symptons when I stopped smoking for a week or more. So my conclusion is that the only thing that could be hurting my throath and lungs is the e-cig.

I advise everyone one to stop. I know there will be people saying that it is healthier than cigarrets and etc. It may be, but IT MAY BE NOT. There are no sufficient tests to say that this is safe. That is one reason why the FDA has not approven the product, because IT HAS NOT BEEN TESTED.

There might several things hidden in the vapor and little you guys know. So please, I know that there we are addicted to nicotine, but just don't put something in your lungs that might cause you harm. At least the side effects of cigarrets are know.

I had issues at first, but I switched to non-PG and all is well.

Well sniping at an entire community because vaping isn't for you doesn't help your situation. Anyone who has spent anytime reading these boards is aware there are pitfalls to vaping in some cases. Negative reactions to PG / VG, nicotine abuse, etc. It's not an exact science. It very well could be the nicotine levels you are using in your carts are too high or you are allergic to PG- either way there may be solutions available. If you decide to throw you hands in the air and give up on it, please don't run around like someone with their hair on fire and try to bash the rest of us who don't have these issues.

We're all willing to help you, but this seems more and more like an anti-vaping thread and less like a "suggestions" thread.

Best of luck.

PS. You are the one acting like a child, please don't lecture us, especially considering the amount of research you have apparently not done. Take your ball and go home, that's fine.

PPS. Holy crap, Polaroid went from "I don't think this is for me" to an all out assault. Interesting isn't it?

So what research have you done? Are you a doctor?

At least I will live longer than you. Keep breathing the vapor of your e-liquid manufactured in China and good look with that.

You are the one with no self control. Just stopping smoking.

Possible sensitivity to PG or just your lungs starting to clear out all the crap from 5 years of smoking. I had a real nasty cough for a couple of weeks about a week after starting vaping and quitting smoking but it went away and left my lungs feeling about 3 times their old size. Or it could just be that you caught a cold from the damp air under that bridge.
