Mine is out for delivery today, yay! This is my first "higher end" mod. Right now my highest end mod is an MVP 2, which I still love. But I really liked the high output and small size of the VS. If it's as small as it looks in all the pics, this will be my going to work mod for sure. Can't wait to get home!

I placed my order today and received shipping confirmation this evening. I doubt I will have a use for the full power but I really like the form factor and size of the unit. Hoping it will be pocket friendly.
I'm glad to hear it doesn't have vent holes. The last thing you want to do to a lipo cell is punch a hole in it. My only concern is when a lipo cell is pushed hard and gets hot it will swell. Does anyone know the c rating of the cell used and if there is any room for expansion inside the case?

Enjoy! I never go full power, it kills the battery too fast. Loving my 1.2ohm Spheroid at 16watts for a most of the day vape with intermittent usb charging. Perfect for the pocket, even the front shirt pockets.
On venting there is the void around the battery cover, when I charge it I see the light coming out of the void and also near the firing button, Li-Po's vent like rockets so I do not think that will matter it will just pop in your hands. But like I said the DNA has over heating protection so it will most likely burst in a hot car or on a charger and not while vaping.

IMO, it's semi-proprietary -- it's not a standard size that you can buy from multiple manufacturers like an 18650.

Well, it's not in there tight like it would be in a tube mod. And if worst came to worst, I think the display window would break and then you'd have a giant vent hole.
Good point...I suppose there are enough openings on the chassis to allow it to vent.
I've read three reports of the battery in a Vaporshark venting. One guy threw it in a sink and drenched it, and VS took care of him IIRC. The other is on another forum, and they fixed it for him but didn't replace the entire unit. The third was on FB and I never heard whether it was fixed under warranty.
So they can vent despite the protections on the chip, and you don't want to be holding it when it does.

Best vape mail day ever today! Got my VS DNA 30, Aspire Nautilus, and three liquids from Nicoticket. Loaded the Aspire with Frenilla, and vaped half the tank on the Shark. Probably the best experience I've had between mod, tank and liquid! I'm really blown away.
The VS is tiny, even smaller than I thought it would be from pics. I can't believe the power this little beauty puts out! Feels solid and well made. Nice fit and finish and laser etched graphic. I never thought I would spend this much on a mod, but I'm glad I did. Actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow with this little pocket friendly device.

Anyway, a couple of questions: firstly, upon receipt, i charged it til the battery indicator was full (though the red light never went off) and proceeded to drain the battery in about 25 minutes with a 1 ohm build at 30 watts-- is that normal? Seems just a bit too short, even for max wattage.
Secondly, how long does it take to charge this little guy? I plugged it in for a few hours, vaping intermittently (not very frequently at all), in an attempt to get that red light off-- never happened. I just plugged her in for bedtime and fully expect it will be charged up come 8am, but really was expecting it to charge fully at least once today. Thoughts?

Red light turns green when it's fully charged. It's not fully charged until it does. If you vape it while it's charging, it will charge almost continuously because it's then charging at the voltage limited, low-current range. Charge without using it at all and you'll get it fully charged in 3-4 hours max.
As for how long it will last at 30 watts, we can do back-of-the envelope calculations:
1200 mAh x 3.7V = 4440 mWh, / 30 watts = 148 mh. Huh, a milli-hour? Sure, there are 3600 seconds in an hour, so a milli-hour is 3.6 seconds and we have 148 of them, so 533 seconds, or close to 9 minutes of actual time on the fire button. Of course this assumes you can use the whole 1200 mAh of capacity, which you can't really, and it also neglects the fact that the DNA itself is only 93% efficient. So maybe you'll get 6 minutes of actual time on the hot button.
I've always thought actual fire-time would be more interesting that the "puff counters" you find on some mods...

I ran my v2 Origen 0.6 ohm setup at 26 Watts last night, and I can assure you, the actual time on the fire button is in that range.
That said, I love the vape on this VS so much more than my mechs, I may be liquidating most if not all my mechs and going regulated-only.
So, I left it plugged in all night last night and the red light never turned green. I think I heard of this issue before. Should I be concerned? I was thinking about just dealing with it, but then again, why would I?
I left mine plugged in over night and had a green light and full charge this morning. I am interested to see real world battery life on it today. (Brought an ego setup as backup) generally I am gone about 12 hours per work day, that may be asking a bit much. But I am loving the VS so far!

Do you not have access to any USB power that whole time? My experience from back when my VS was my primary mod was that an hour or so of top-off sometime in the afternoon would get me through the day. If you commute in a car, I'd get a car charger; pretty much any USB car charger will do the trick.
I do, and will probably leave a spare charge cord at work. I still have gotten comfortable bringing two mods though, just in case of a breakdown.
Not sure if anyone touched the subject after you asked <KDM> but I verified with VS today on the c rating for the 1200mah Li-Po... It is 15C.
1200 mAh (1.2 Ah) battery rated at 15C should be able to deliver 1.2 x 15 = 18 Amps.
18 Amps is well in the safety zone for the DNA30 either way sub ohm or high ohm you will not get close because of the ohms allowable limitations. Hope this helps. Though the c rating gives the 18 amp limitation the cell is only 10A maximum output according to stat charts. I guess there is some room in the battery for glitches. --this is only my best opinion--

Thanks Cloud Junky for the info. I'm familiar with lipo cells having used them in RC vehicles. I haven't used them in a while, due to my son losing interest, but I still have a large collection from 2s to 6s cells and chargers. Have some 5s 65c rated, would hate to carry it around in my pocket!
I haven't read through this entire thread -- only about half -- and therefore don't know how much this has been discussed; but one thing that I am super impressed with is their receptivity and responsiveness to all the feedback they received re. the 20. Before I ordered mine, I watched every single video review of the first iteration, and I was really put off by some of the aesthetic qualms that the big reviewers had (rough seams, sharp-edged firing button, two tone logo, finish scraping around the 510, etc.). Grimm, Busardo and co. should get their hands on a new review unit and update all that (i know: long review queues) because it seems to me that every single thing that they and others mentioned as negatives has been addressed and fixed on the new dna 30 units. I love the fit and finish. I actually settled for this thing because I couldn't get my hands on an opus D; as it turns out, i am SO psyyyyched that it worked out this way-- i really doubt i'd be happier with any other dna device out there right now in terms of size, fit, and finish-- im serious! The changes on the 30 really speak volumes about VS as a company and, from all that I've read about the quality customer service in this thread, I will now support this company 'til the end. Sign me up for the (hopefully) upcoming big brother to the VS!!
