Ordered VS rDNA40 this week and a Lemo Drop. Not new to RBAs but this will be my first mod that will be able to go above 15 watts and rta.

I've been reading part of this thread and others and I'm worried about the QC on the DNA40 chips. I'm overseas and will have it shipped to me by a family member and having to send it back if there is an issue would be a huge hassle. What are the latest updates on the issues people have been having with the early batches? Still going on?

Also people using the VS 40 with Lemo have any issues with the contact not making a solid contact? It also seems common. I saw putting in a o-ring in the base connection is a common mod and wondering if this has been necessary.

I've only seen one mention of a screen glitch with the new chips and it appeared to be a different glitch so it seems to be fixed, especially when you consider the large number of units that have gone out with the new chip.

I've been wondering whether anyone with the rDNA has had connectivity issues with the Lemo too. In the Lemo thread someone mentioned that they had issues on a Vapor Flask but not on their rDNA, I don't recall anyone else with issues mentioning the rDNA but I didn't read the whole thread. The good news is that the o-ring fix is simple and seems to work for most people.

I've bought 12 lemo/lemo drops. I own 3 myself, the others were gifts. All were able to make solid connection with the RDNA (can't say for other mods) without any modification at all. The rDNA has a spring loaded 510 which starts of pretty shallow so it'll be fine. The issue arises when you wanna use it on other mods, or like a hybrid mech, since the 510 pin is a little recessed. But specifically for the rDNA it'll be no problem at all.

I've found the lemo to be the most consistent and reliable performer for me on the rDNA

When you fill the Lemo how full do you fill it. I have been having terrible leaking problems. I put the screw in and filled it up. Didn't check it for a while when I did it had leaked all over my P3. Once it had leaked about 1/4 of the tank it stopped. I couldn't believe it leaked with the screw in. The .... plug did the same thing. Not real happy about it. I have several different attys and none leak like this does. I wish I had only bought 1 instead of 2. Not impresses except once it stops leaking it works great but the leaking issue is unacceptable.

Might wanna direct that question to the lemo thread; you will probably get more suggestions there. My only issues with the lemo leaking has been when my chimney shaft o ring was the wrong size.

Anyways, I fill it up almost dead full, leaving just a tiny bubble haha

Overall, I've been very happy with the Lemo Drop / rDNA 40 combo. I had a few connection issues, but seem to have them sorted out (see post here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rta/601945-lemo-rta-build-pics-post15114804.html#post15114804)

I think you'll be very happy with your purchase!

My Lemo Drop made a solid connection on the iStick; not so much on the rDNA until I did the o-ring thing.

When this happened to me it was due to this screw not being super tight. (ignore the take screw out part- this pick was used for something else).

I hope you hold on to it and try some other things on it before you decide to return it.

I would love to try and help you figure out what the problem is so I'm with KTM, let's start with the basics:

What attys are you putting builds in?

On your attempted builds: ga., dia., wraps and target ohm.

The only thing I can get a good, consistant nickel build on so far has been the Lemo. I've tried the erlkonigan every way to Sunday and on several occasions wanted to stomp a mud hole in it!

Bottom line: IMHO not all attys play well with nickel! Don't get too discouraged, I hope it's not the device and it's something that can be fixed with a little help from the people that have had a little success with the VS!

Hey sorry i havnt responded, I have been on travel all weekend. Thank you for reaching out to help.

I have tried 4 toppers so far all resulting in the same behavior.

1. marquis RDA
2. Aeolus RDA
3. Venturi RDA
4. Rogue RDA

All builds I am doing are 28g spaced coils 3mm-4mm diameter single coils. All coils I have tried are 0.11 to 0.15 ohm

I am still having issues with the rdna40, and now after spending 2 extra days with it over the weekend I can def say there is something up with my chip. I believe whatever part of the chip is reading the temperature is faulty.

Here are a few things I have noticed :

1. My at rest readings are off, which is why I am hitting TP almost instantly even at like 5 watts. On a new fresh coil (spaced) 0.13 ohm 28gauges single, when firing at 410TP, and 12 watts I hit TP in almost 2 seconds resulting in almost no vapor. This is true for any wattage above 5.

2. The breakpoint between working and not working on my device is 490F. The device works as it should @ 490f and above, but does not do me any good because it defeats the purpose of owning this device. Vaping at 490f , the wicks get charred. Once @ 490F, I can actually fire for more than 3 seconds and not hit TP. Once I switch to 480F, the bug happens again.

3. If I vape for a little bit, unscrew my atty and screw it back on. My at rest readings will change, I know this is not what you are supposed to be doing b/c it trips up the chip, however if i do this I can actually vape @ 410 TP and the degrees meter will actually read below 350f.

4. There is no ramp on my degree meter. Say I have it set at 450f. If i fire, it reads 350 for a split second then immediately 450F then "Temperature Protected" all while producing barely any vapor.

I have tried almost 20 builds thus far and tried to get my wicking correct with rayon. I feel like I have done the builds perfectly. My ohms dont jump, there is nothing that would tell me suspect there is a bad connection anywhere. This chip for whatever reason below 490F does not work properly.

Edit: Here is a pic of one of my builds

The family is doing well! I have been using the new VS rDNA40 as my out and about mod. the small form factor is very nice and you can palm most of it so its less obtrusive than my solara. I like the heft of it, but it would be a nicer out and about vape if it was lighter. For those of you who have the Vaporshark DNA30, is that one lighter than the rDNA40?

I have the 30 and 40 Vapor Sharks, the 30W is lighter, but not my much.
