Is the resistance supposed to jump all around while firing it? When firing my Atlantis with the 0.5 ohm coil, it jumps from 0.7 to 1.3 ohms really quickly.

The .5 ohm coil is kanthal right? That resistance should not jump like that. Since these are prebuilt coils, I continue to suspect a bad connection within the device or at the 510.

Yes it is. My guess is that it's the device that's bad. All of my attys are behaving the same. Pretty disappointed, but I guess I should have expected something wrong with it. Now to decide to swap it or return it.

If it were me, I'd just get it fixed. Sucks to wait all this time, only to wait longer, but you're not alone. Anyway, I'd start a dialog with VS tomorrow. Who knows, maybe they'll find a way for you to fix it on the spot.

Thanks, that is what I'm going to do. Just not right away. Have already done that once. The ffirst one I only had for a few days. Then sent it back for 10 days. This one also started glitching the first day. So I want to use it for a couple of weeks before I send it back and I'm with out it again. Otherwise in almost a months time I'll have only had a VS for a week.

They have a 4 month warranty so there is no rush. In the mean time I'm gonna play around with trying different things. Hurts nothing, just my nature to play around wih broken things. Besides I want some time to pass and hopefully get into a better batch of boards before I have to send a third one back. Nothing against VS. The issue is with Evolve since it is happening with other brands also. VS has been handling this very well and I'm sure this will all be resolved soon enough. As I've said before that's why I'll send it back for a exchange and not a refund. I'm actually considering getting a VS DNA 40 for its smaller size (and TP) when needed. Also with two if one goes back I'll still have the other. I need a TP capable back up.

Gotcha, I know your pain, I returned the first VS rDNA 40 I got for the same reason! And I tried everything I could as well to try and have it function w/o all the glitchyness!

I'm with you on not having a TP device, I now have 2 rDNA 40's and once you have that feature, it really makes it tough to use anything else!!

Exactly my thoughts. I too didn't grab the S/Skins and prefer switching batts to USB charging.

The rubberized coating feels very nice btw ~ a li'l bit of care and it should last long/er than the plain paint jobs.

Mine has held up quite well to the few I've seen on some reviews and in pictures. I really like the coating. I just avoid putting anything in my pocket along with it. I won't put loose change or keys or anything scratchy against it.

I'm using the prebuilt Atlantis and Subtank coils. They shouldn't have any connection issues. The connection issue must be within the device.

There are many many reports of these pre-built coils having problems.
Just tucking the wire and hoping a bit of rubber will make a stable connection is optimistic at best.

I am not saying your device is perfect but I really think aside from the screen issue the things you are experiencing are entirely due to doggy connections from the device forward, in other words your attys.

Well it has been 48 hours with my Vaporshark rDna40 and it has happened to me. My screen glitched. I could see the top of the text and some snow with it  I took the battery out and seems to be fine. My build date is 02/10/15. I am a little upset. I sold all my mods because I loved this so much so I don't have a back up if I send it back in. Now the wait is 30 days ...! It hasn't done it since I took the battery. Should I wait? I had my lemo drop built to 0.16 and was running it at 30 watts at 540F. I don't know if that could have made it do that? Any ideas?

Isn't that too high?

1. If it glitched once - it'd happen again. Pls RMA it within the warranty period.
2. Always have a backup - you knew that didn't you?

Give it some time. Like I said earlier, what is the point of RMA'ing it right now, it doesn't appear they have the issue corrected. My plan is to just record any screen issues with my phone and hopefully they will figure out the problem before the warranty expires. In the meantime, simply removing the battery seems to solve it, though I could see how that would be annoying if you are using a nickel build.

The Subtanks do have a connection issue to the rDNA40's, at the 510. I have 2 rDNA40's and 2 STm's, I had to extend the deck screw on both to get them to work properly on my new rDNA, they worked fine on my original but both had issues on the new one.

That might be the case, but I've tried multiple RDAs that are having the same issue. All built using kanthal and the ohms are jumping over 0.5 ohms higher than the build shows on all my other devices and ohm meters. When I have a solid kanthal build that reads 0.5 ohms on all my devices and meter and then it reads over 1.0 ohms on my VS then something is wrong.
