I just got a VS DNA30 and like it so much Im thinking of buying either the VS DNA40 or VS rDNA40 and Im torn on which one to get. I already use wireless charging on my phone but is the $30 extra really worth it for that and removable battery?

With the removable battery, when your battery dies (which it will), you simply remove the battery and replace it with another one. With the non-removable battery, when your battery dies, you need to send it in to get the battery replaced and Vapor Shark will charge you $25.

The reason I got a rdna 40 was because I liked the rdna 30 quite a bit.

As afar as the wireless charging I don't use it because of the heat. It just gets to hot and VS had a disclaimer on their site that because of the heat screen clouding could occur. It is just easier for me to swap out batts.

realistically....how long would a DNA40 last before you had to send it in to get a new battery? Average life is about what, 500 cycles?

I only ask because I am thinking about getting one.

LiIon batteries usually last 300-500 cycles so at least a year of everyday use. Swapping out the battery isn't that hard if you know how to solder. Even if you don't, you can learn how by watching youtube videos. $25 is a very reasonable charge for the service though.

I'm really tempted to get a VS DNA40. I love the size of the VS DNA30 but also love the DNA40 chip. Since building my DNA40's, I haven't used my DNA30's much and miss their size.

Since you know how to build you might want to check out Fluid Vapor's new dna 40 DIY kit they had made although I don't see it on their site yet. The box is very similar in size to the VS DNAs. I don't think it's cheap but it looked super nice when Rob, Fluid's owner, previewed it on VapeTV.

The kit includes everything you need except the chip. The box is milled anodized aluminum with a magnetic battery door and spring-loaded 510.

I think I am going to order one......because in a year...I will probably be upgrading anyway....lol

I just want the DNA over the rDNA just for the size

I bought a used DNA30 that needed a new battery and since I already had a few 1200mah batteries, I picked it up and replaced the battery. It was a 10 min job (very easy). I was still waiting for my DNA40 boards so it gave me a something to do and I think the Evolv chip gives a much better vape than the clones. And no delay to fire from sleep.

I like the size of the rDNA in my hand but the DNA is easier to carry around in my pocket. I put a DNA40 lg screen in a Hana mini clone and upgraded to a 18650 battery so it's like the VS DNA40 but bigger

They have barely had time to get back from Vape Bash so I don't think they have had time to get the kits up on the web site yet so no link. However, if you email them it might prompt Rob to get the kits up a little faster.

Tease! :p

I have an extra DNA40 small screen that needs to find a home.

Love that Hana mini, I wonder if there is a no logo clone still being made?

It's a tie between the Hana mini and rDNA40 as my favorite mod. I tried to get the logo off but I don't think I can w/o damaging the finish so I left it (Serial # is 666 ) The only mini clones available now is on FC (search for "DNA30") or eBay as just an enclosure. The FT version I got was tall enough to get a 18650 battery in it.

Not on FV's website yet and I can't find the vid on VapeTV -- do you have a link to the vid? Thx.
