This thread has become a bash fest. VS has had their share of issues and missteps along the way. But this thread has had an influx of people that just want to bash, when the product has some excellent features and THE VAST MAJORITY of purchasers are happy. When a person comes in here to find out about the product and asks a question, the same few jump in and attempt to dissuade the buyer. As if their voice is the only opinion out there.
1.) We had shipping gate. VS was slow at shipping and they were not as communicative as they could have been. They were slammed from Shark Week and had to play catch up. One person got caught in the cracks more than the rest and had a right to be upset and to add insult to injury had problems with the device. Those problems still persist. But this is ONE person out of untold thousands of happy owners. It doesn't diminish that persons issues, it does however put it into perspective.
2.) We had reverse battery gate. NOT a VS problem at all. But they got blamed anyway.
3.) Rattlegate. YES if you hold the rDNA and shake it violently it rattles, due to the buttons floating on the board. There are numerous mods out there and most but not all have some rattle. If a little rattle annoys you then buy something else, but it doesn't bother most.
4,) There was chip gate. The fire button has a chrome overlay, that on a few devices, started coming off. Someone in this thread, after skimming the posts said their plus/minus button plating was coming off as well. This was a single unsubstantiated report.
5.) Scratch gate. There were some that screwed in toppers with a screw on the bottom of them that scratched the surface of the VS. Well duhh, what did you think would happen? Now the same aforementioned skimmer picked up on this and said their paint was chipping. Again the only report of this. Recently we did have someone get a scratch on the top of a skinned rDNA, because he/she had it in the same pocket as their topper. Again, duhh, what did you expect?
6.) A couple of peeps had the 510 connector get stuck down. Push it or pull it back up maybe? And then we had a discussion about juice getting into the 510, or through one of the case joints. I don't remember VS saying it was water/ejuice resistant. Meanwhile no one has done it, and had issues.
7.) Now we have battery gate. Everyone knows about the Sony stock problems, so we shouldn't be surprised they had to switch batteries. Someone at VS made a decision on a replacement and made a BAD choice. And to add insult to injury, they didn't correct their site to inform purchasers that there was a change. Most mods that have replaceable batteries don't even ship with one, which made the rDNA an even better deal. However they should ship what they sell , or call everyone that didn't know about the switch and offer them a refund or battery exchange.
I'm a happy rDNA owner, like most, but this thread has become a gripe fest. I don't represent VS in any way, except as a happy owner, and I wish more of the satisfied customers would post here.
Hi! Just a reminder to all the folks out there to make triple sure you have your polarity correct before replacing the battery.
I'm sure if I tried I could find the posting where I said "I'm not an idiot and would never do that ..." but as it turns out
I AM EXACTLY THAT KIND OF IDIOT!
Puffs of smoke. Extreme amounts of heat produced in about 8 seconds. And that lovely electrical wiring stench we love to avoid.

I am a real estate agent that multi tasks all day...so i am bound to put the battery in backwards again...maybe not...but i don't want to worry about it...I won't send it in for repair...rather put the 80 bucks towards a new rdna 40... I don't know if my fried one is worth anything...but if anyone wants its just pm me...I just want 10 bucks to handle postage and a small box...They will fixed the fried ones for $80 now. You should send it in.
Newport is for Newport Beach. Born and raised in Newport.
I am trying to craigslist mine. We shall see if I get any interest. Especially with this new release.
I ordered it the day after sharkweek at full price waited a month to get it. Got one by agreeing to a different color. Used it two weeks before sending for repairs. Got it back today just in time for the price drop on their site depreciating it another $20. Guess I am just lucky. Lol
I actually do hope this one is designed better and want people to get awesome devices problem free and vape happily. It will be interesting to watch how long the DNA 40s take to ship. Hope they sealed under the 510 connection. I always wish everyone happy reliable problem free vaping.
I think a majority of owners have had no problems... And your crusade just sounds like whiny first-world problems.. You've stated your case and let people's wallets decide... I think they won't have problems selling a lot of units as the small size and the rugged construction (not the paint) are a big draw for me... My rdna 30 works perfectly and I'm sure the rdna 40 I preordered today will be fine tooI am glad that you and others have had good experiences, but potential buyers should be aware of issues. Trust me, if I would have had seen some of the stuff that I have seen happen to others and I have experienced, I would not have purchased it. Once you purchase a product its the customer service that has to work well, which in my experience they have some major issues, but I hope they turn it around. For me, when a company pulls a bait and switch on customers that tells me its not a reputable company no matter how satisfied some users are because they have not had the need to interact with the company other then clicking the buy button.
The manager was pushing a free return label on me to have my slanted DNA screen "repaired" even though it showed up that way, but when I sent him an image of my taped packaging around my device and asked him to send the label now he doesn't respond. This email was sent last Friday. I am not sure exactly why you defend the company so much. When I saw people with issues prior to my device showing up I was glad that they had communicated their experiences, but mine was in transit.

....... This will be interesting.

Finally got a shipping notice, had ordered 2 1/2 weeks ago.
Well, I got my vaporshark RDNA back. Stood at the post office for a while and the supervisor found it by digging in a bin. That was super nice of him to make the effort. I think he felt bad it was the second delivery issue from them in a week. Yes, I get lots of vape mail.Got it home. Still has the VTC4 in it. Display is working. A note said it was due to ejuice and they fixed it free of charge and said to pay it forward. Fortunately, I have given away a ton of ejuice and gear to people so I have a head start on the PIFing.
That was very nice of them, and I did notice someone's post the other day that there is a service to replace the chips now which is a much better policy than people just being out of luck. Hopefully, the new RDNA 40 is sealed a little better, but nonetheless that was very nice of Vaporshark to make it right for me like that. Seems they are trying to create a better feel that people will be able to rely on them for support of their product. While obviously for those that have followed my story I have had less than an ideal experience. I commend Vaporshark for making efforts to make things right and ch,anging their repair policy making it a safer investment in your vape gear.
