Anyone who preorders any vape toys from anyone and is expecting a guaranteed shipping date is living in la-la land. Sometimes manufacturers make promised shipping dates but often they don't.

Most e-cig manufacturers demand prepayment in full from retailers and communication on their end of things gets very sparse once they have cash in hand. The retailer is frequently put in the awkward position of having no information or misinformation to pass on to preorder customers.

Workflow delays, poor internal communication, spotty CS with a few oopsie decisions tossed in for good measure are pretty much the norm for any business experiencing exponential growth, particularly for newer business typical in the e-cig industry. Adding new technology into the mix such as the dna 40 further complicates matters.

Most online retailers use Facebook or somewhere on their site to post preorder delay information. I can't recall any who use email to notify preorder customers of delays. Someone who stresses over shipping time delays should avoid preorders like the plague. Waiting for the rDNA40s to arrive at a B&M retailer that provides exceptional customer service might be a better option.

Yes yes we are so modern... Here's an idea... If we are so modern why can't the updates be where the people BOUGHT the mod... Also don't tell people that it WILL GET IT THE 30th then on the 30th announce another delay... These kind of changes like a magnetic button wasn't made on a whim... The business I've run have doubled in profitability is one year and still we all make calls to all our customers of all delays... It's called professionalism

Best thing for you to do is talk with your wallet and don't buy one or anything from VaporShark. Simple.

Imagine how satisfied all the customers who pre ordered would've been if Vaporshark had originally stated release date of say thanksgiving, and then had beat their estimation by several weeks. Along the way announcing new things like the new sharkskin, and improved battery door with magnets, and the availability of aspire bvc coils with Ni200 coils. We'd all be applauding them for their innovation, for listening to reviewers, and for exceeding our expectations.

Why didn't they do that? I speculate that because if they had, they'd have lost a whole lot of pre order customers. A lot of us would've chosen hana, xpv, or vaporflasks due to them being available first. What a horrible way to treat your customers...

Rather than do things the right way and potentially lose out on a few sales but endear themselves to those willing to wait with excellent service, instead they've got a lot of angry customers who have been lied to about release dates multiple times, which accessories will fit, and why there was a delay in the first place.

Pre-orders = Working Capital ;)

Meh.

I was just being grouchy. I log on here and it seems to be a .....fest all day today. Not just this thread but most that I'm subscribed to.

All well that's to bad. I'm going to get grouchy and say something I may regret if I don't ignore this constant whining. The forum has tools for that and I will use them. YMMV ;)

Here's the thing- I didn't place my order thru Facebook. Never in a million years would I had thought I needed to check Facebook for updates considering they just told me on the 29th that orders were shipping the NEXT DAY!
Had I not been reading this thread I wouldn't have known there was yet another delay considering they first said the 27th.
Somehow we should believe that not a single person knew before today they decided to switch & use magnets instead?

I'm sorry, but using Facebook to say there was another delay is poor form for me- those that think otherwise, well....that's your opinion.
They could've sent a mass email to their customers or displayed the delay notice on their website.
Vapor Shark has been in business long enough to know this was not cool. They're not some tiny mom & pop operation.

^I have to agree with the above post... but as one who sees the benefits of magnets over screws, I can't fault them for the last minute switch, and sympathize with the difficulty of making that call and not being able to notify all the pre order-ers.
Is that the only reason for the delay?
I don't know because I never really looked into VS until today... I was lucky to snag one of the first Flask 40's from Hyperion on Oct.4 in the first minute of f5'ing, and I've been so happy with it, i'm looking for another DNA 40 device which brings me here.
(I just sold off 2 Reo Grands today to make that possible).

I'm pretty hard on my devices and intend to use RTA's and RDA's.
Will the issue I've heard about regarding leaks into the sides and back from the 510 air channels be a deal breaker for me if that's the case? Yes.
How could it not be?
and I hope I'm wrong because the VS looks sweet, and I don't want to have to buy another $300 dna40 device.

Starting to have a change of heart and really considering cancelling to get a flask instead. Didn't want it to come to that but having a hard time believing that I will get the VS anytime soon. I ordered the first day on the 14th and still haven't even received a confirmation email. And that's after emailing them twice with no response. I'm guessing they just have too many emails to respond to right about now.

More than once they told me the shipment wasn't rec'd on their end on time and was scheduled to be at their door on the 29th with our devices going out on the 30th so what "pre-production" are they referring to?
Now they'd have us believe the devices haven't been made yet which doesn't make me feel good about them at all.
I don't need a rDNA 40 in my life- I want one but not if I'm going to be lied to.
There's so many other things I could've spend my $201.98 on so I will more than likely be canceling my order with VaporShark.

This is kind of the "norm" for preorder items...I also preorder rc equipment and it is ALWAYS delayed....However i always get an email and an apology for the delay...Something vaporshark better consider very quickly...Posting on facebook about a shipping delay seems like a waste of time, as they are just subjecting themselves to alot of negative responses....

Canceling mine today. Had a friend who wanted it, but he was able to get a flask yesterday.

I'll be waiting for beyondvape to release a dna40 version of the solera for my second dna40.
