Hey guys can someone please enlighten me on the difference between the dna 40 vs dna 40D? I just pulled the trigger late last night on the Vapor Shark dna 40 then of course today I noticed the VS rDNA 40 says it has "the DNA 40D under the hood". I guess all im trying to figure out is did I just purchase the older DNA chip from VS? Is there any benefits to getting the DNA 40D? Thanks in advance and Happy Easter!

DNA40 refers to the chipset. DNA40D is the board assembly. The "D" designates that it has a display. As far as I know, they both use the DNA40D board in the VS DNA40 and VS rDNA40.

I am so torn between this and the rDNA. Literally been going back and forth. I wish I was not deployed right now so I could see each of them in person and see which one feels better.

I have one of each version and to be honest I wish I had just gotten 2 of the rDNA versions.

The ability to change batteries is well worth the $20, IMO.

If the DNA had the wireless charging it would be nice, but that is on the rDNA version as well.

It is honestly not that much smaller either

No, the screen is the small one.. Forgot about that difference

Well, just bought the rDNA lol. Had it in my cart...checked out finally. I have been going back and forth for days between these 2 and the Hana V4d. I wanted the dual 18650 in the hana but I hear their build quality is not as good (glue, sloppy wring, etc.)

I don't think you will be disappointed.

actually, i called and they said all orders being shipped are now the large screen, no more small screens are being offered in any vaporshark.

I was wondering if they would update that...

I was gonna say...my DNA has the big display...bought in store last month.

Damn....just ordered the rDNA. Oh well....it doesn't look that much bigger...and having the ability to swap batts should be worth it. Hope I don't regret the rDNA over the DNA

I don't think you will regret it... I travel a lot and being able to just swap the battery at will out in the field is nice. Just pop a new battery in and charge the other when you get back to the hotel room.

I caved and ordered a DNA40 a couple of days ago so I should have it by Monday according to USPS. I'll post pics of the size difference between the DNA40 and rDNA40 (and DNA30 if it's not sold by then). The DNA40 is only slightly bigger than the DNA30. I like the size of the rDNA40 in my hand but the DNA30 is small enough to make it easier to carry when out but not small enough to feel too small if that makes sense. Being able to replace the battery is convenient but with the rapid charging, the DNA40 shouldn't be too inconvenient. My Hana mini clone has a LG HE2 battery (same as DNA40) but with a 500ma charger so it takes 5 hrs to charge. I usually let it charge overnight. The DNA40 and rDNA40 should charge in 2.5 hrs via USB as long as you have a >1.5a charger.

I put up my 2 DNA30's for sale along with my orange Cloupor DNA40. The one I didn't want to sell, the blue skinned DNA30, sold first.
