I kind of feel like I'm hijacking here and sorry to everyone for it. Last comment on this one for me...

You can put a dna chip in any device you want to, it just comes down to fitment and buttons. Most mainstream box mods are designed for their chips and they typically use the on-board buttons. This is the only part that makes throwing a dna chip in any other mod difficult, It's all about the buttons. Just don't over exceed the rating on the batteries (i.e., putting a dna 25 in an MVP 20).

Well Damn! I went ahead and order one. I was really looking hard at the rDNA 40 but like the size of this newer one better. Not a cheap item but not bad really if it performs as hoped. It will pair up nicely with my Provari 2.5 mini and I already have an Aspire Atlantis sitting here that I bought not knowing it wouldn't work with my setup (NEWB)!!! That's my rational for buying this rather than returning the Aspire ;)

The Atlantis doesn't have nickel coils available.... I am hearing they are on the way, but I have not seen them yet...

So it has been 3 weeks since I got the DNA-40 and I am still loving it.

And then I get the call just a few minutes ago that the rDNA-40 has shown up at the shop so I get to go pick it up after work today.

I am stoked for this one, no more plugging in and charging for me, just replace the battery and go!!!!

So after 3 weeks, I am convinced that the build is the most critical part of using nickel.

And the nickel OCC coils have been bothersome for me. But a RBA section in a subtank mini is the way to go... Or drippers with a single coil also works very well.

I'll post up later with how it goes with the rDNA-40...

Not to mention the $80 or less rDNA 40 clones that are going to hit any day now.

That said, had this been for sale a month ago, I'd have placed an order for the Vaporshark DNA40 and been set for mods until after CNY.

But it's a bit late now, I've got a Cloupor Mini in hand and one of those Vaporflask DNA40 clones on the way, and still had enough change left over to buy four more LG HE4s and 240ml of good ITC juice. :)

Wow, Croak is hellbent on not spending money to support USA made products. He will order a clone on a slow boat from China in a heartbeat, as long as he saves money, that's all he cares about. He probably spent hundreds of dollars a month on analogs, this must be his way of getting even. After buying his cheap Chinese clone, he frets over how well his POS compares to the authentic, built to last American made device. In this business environement, the Chinese can copy American technology without repurcussions. Hey, the ecig was invented in China, more power to them. Let's get real here, if you live in the good ole US of A, your cost of everything is higher. Higher pay too, with benefits and pensions and an hourly wage. Let's support American made devices, built by fellow Americans, and stop undercutting our economy to save a few bucks. Yes, they're overpriced, but it's supply and demand. I want to save money too, but I'm not jumping on the clone bandwagon on brand new devices the day after they're introduced to the market.

I agree pmadden. I've had my dna40 since Monday and love it. Very well built and the battery seems to last forever. I haven't even charged it yet. Today I got the kanger sub mini and nickel occ coils at my local vapor shark store. So nice to have a vs store close to home! I'm vaping that now and like it even more than the atlantis. Better build and better flavor.

I just ordered the VS rDNA 40 and the Kanger Sub mini with nickel coils myself. I had to use Vapor Sharks website, as I don't have any stores near me in NY. I see your from South Fl, my whole family lives down there, I'm the last holdout, but not for long I hope. Sunrise, Plantation and Hollywood are towns I've been visiting since 1980, its like my home away from home. I have a timeshare in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea that I use so I don't have to cram in the spare rooms or the couch, lol.

I'll be waiting for my vape mail, I can't wait to get my hands on the VS. I'm using an iLeaf 20w , after using evod style for 2 years, and since I bought the stick I was introduced to a whole other level of vaping. I haven't touched a stinker in about a month, and I don't see myself relapsing anymore. I really love vaping, I've begun trying out the different flavors instead of using the same tobacco flavored ones I was kind of stuck on. I've lowered my nic levels from 24 to 12 ( sometimes 18 ), and am feeling much better than I have in years. I was POD for thirty years, and vaping is my new vice. Enjoy your DNA and I'll see you at the vape shop by the beach sometime soon, lol!

Great timing for you, my rDNA just showed up and it has the "atty lock" feature and you will need that if you plan on using the pre-built nickel coils in the Sub-tank mini...

Now I need to contact Vapor Shark to see if I can get the DNA updated to the same as the rDNA....

You may want to step down to or 6 mg nicotine though... With the Sub-tank you get a much bigger hit with less nic.

I just sold one of my IPV mini's to a fellow vaper and he bought a Subtank mini and had to go down after a weekend of going out.

LBS great little town. I used to work there. I moved my juice down to 6 as mentioned above. I first tried my 12 with the sub and about died!

Could you help us out with the "atty lock" feature Con? I just received my Shark 40 and loving it, but it should come with detailed instructions to get the most out of it. Thanks!

Has anyone tried modifying the VS DNA40 to make the battery permanently replaceable. Haven't received mine yet, but based on the pictures it looks like the battery is just soldered to two connection plates. Seems like if you could remove these (i'm guessing by unsoldering them somehow), you could hammer them into a slight cone shape for some spring action (with a flat spot in the middle for a nice contact), and then use epoxy to secure them to either end of the battery compartment. Or even just go the janky route and duck-tape the leads to the ends of the battery. Anyone see any problems with this?

The only problem I see with this is that removing the back plate introduces the risk of a button falling out. I don't know about your vehicle, but mine is equipped with a black hole in between the seats.

Hey guys can someone please enlighten me on the difference between the DNA 40 vs DNA 40D? I just pulled the trigger late last night on the Vapor Shark DNA 40 then of course today I noticed the VS rDNA 40 says it has "the DNA 40D under the hood". I guess all im trying to figure out is did I just purchase the older DNA chip from VS? Is there any benefits to getting the DNA 40D? Thanks in advance and Happy Easter!
