Just got my DNA40 closeout today. I would say vaporshark is definitely putting glitchy boards in these and dumping them even though they are saying they are not. I'm OK with that because I knew that in buying one I would get a glitchy board. The board works fine besides the display and it does reset within a reasonable amount of time. Plus the screen is on the bottom LOL! The device itself is great, not sure how they crammed an 18650 in there. They did add a disclaimer the the site that said these may glitch and they are untested but its funny that they say you can remove the batteries to reset it even though this is a mod with a built in battery.

Mine had the screen glitch which I expected. It resets when the screen goes out in 60 sec. My issue was that it constantly fired after I let go of the button. They replaced it within a week. I haven't noticed a screen glitch yet but my Hana v4 has the screen glitch but the display resets after releasing the fire button. No other issues so I'm ok with it. The screen glitch doesn't affect the vape quality so it's no big deal.

None of my DNA40 boards from the co-op glitches no matter what I try.

I vaped it down to "Weak Battery" yesterday and it took about 1.5 hrs to fully charge. Nice.

Hey guys just Cruzing through this thread and noticed a page back you were discussing the $104 VS DNA40. I figured what the hell and ordered it. What do you think the chances are it's going to have the screen glitch? If it does glitch on me like crazy I'll just rip out the board and put a new one in. I wonder if there is still a 30 day warranty with VS? If there's no warranty I don't have to worry about taking it apart to fix.

I'm not sure what the chances are but I would just assume it will glitch and then you won't be disappointed. I'm not sure why you would rip the board out if it does glitch. I'm not really sure what the big deal is. I mean I get it if you paid full price but in this case you are getting them at a deep discount. Worst case if it does glitch the screen will reset after 60 seconds after it goes to sleep. Sometimes I've noticed that the screen resets itself too after glitching. The chip still acts as it should no matter what. And to answer your question they do not honor the 30 day warranty either for the screen glitch. I would be willing to bet if something else major is wrong besides the glitch they would take care of you but that is only a guess.

I don't think they "put glitchy boards in them" so much as these units may not have passed QC once completed. That's kind of a sucky way to go about things, but I guess when your production is entirely china-based you end up with this kind of dilemma.

Maybe but they do state in the disclaimer that they are untested. I would rather them be a little more upfront and say hey, assume the screen will glitch but the mod still works and it will reset itself after 60 seconds. I get why they are doing it, making lemonade out of lemons and cutting their losses. IMO it is a win win for them and the consumer but I think they need to be more up front about the chance of getting a mod with a glitchy screen,

ok they have updated the information since i last looked at it. so these are the power lock versions and that is the ostensible reason for the lower cost. they are not the latest firmware. some people prefer this firmware.

they are as upfront as they can possibly be about the screen glitch if they are not testing the units. you never have to change the board though, only the screen.

So it's the screen on the DNA large screen that is the problem? If that's the case I'm pretty sure that ribbon cable and board are different than that of the DNA small screen. Not soldered but rather a clasp connector for the ribbon. That couldn't be hard to replace.

Very simple once you get to the board.
So you've fixed or seen fixed first hand a glitching DNA large screen with simple screen replacement? I was told it was conflicting firmware programs. If so I'll order a new screen now so I can have it when my DNA 40 comes next week. Just in case.

On a recent endeavor I attempted to transplant a DNA 40 into my silver waidea VF. Everything was going good till I was putting the top plate on the flask when the atty out connection on the bottom of fatdaddyvapes v3 510 made contact with the battery positive terminal and shorted out the board. So I emailed evolv and explained what happened and here's what they said:
Hi Richard

Send it in we'll take a look at a possible repair.

Please send your DNA 40, the RMA form (attached), and a copy of your receipt to:

Evolv Returns
PO Box 1715
Ashtabula, OH 44005

Upon receipt, we'll repair/replace your DNA and ship it back to you ASAP.

Thank You,
Steve

I don't know if they'll charge me or not, guess I'll have to wait and see.

I have an intermittent battery drain problem on my new Hana v4. It went down from 4.2v (fresh charge) to 3.65v in 24 hrs with no use. It only happened once so far. This board also has a screen glitch but corrects itself when I release the fire button. No issues at all with my VS rDNA40 or DNA40 or home made DNA40s.

Ordered a DNA40 @ 20% discount.

For 80 bucks it can glitch all it wants!!!

On the other hand, one of my 2 rDNA40's that was just returned for the 4th time has the battery drain syndrome. UGH!!!
I just got my $84 VS DNA 40 yesterday from Vaporshark. Within 10 minutes of opening it up it glitch-ified in temp mode. I don't care it doesn't do it all the time. When I release the fire button it goes away. But man is this thing tiny! This thing is awesome! IMG_20150527_225114-1.jpg
