Oh, interesting, this is the first time I saw that...
So, basically, they are saying that the off-flavor some folks were getting, that some described as "bunt oil" was, in fact, oil.

I don't know why that strikes me as funny, but it is. No offense to anyone, but I'm chortling and cackling.
And that the lack of flavor is due to the lack of airspace between the coil and the hat? Am I reading this correctly? I'm sorry, again, no offense to the good folk at Vision, but I had a bit of trouble parsing that sentence, I hope that's what is meant here. Sometimes I wish Esperanto had caught on. LOL Tech translation is a bear.
If that's the case, the solution is simple: trim a little off the bottom of the hat (a very little little, or you might get flooding - mind you, I've yet to manage to flood this thingie), and lift it. Screwing down the top of the tank will push it back down to where it needs to be, and the flavor should improve. Excellent. I'll try that on one of my tanks with weaker tasting juice and see if it works. Fortunately, I have a few extra hats lying around from dead Stardusts.
And they are saying that the next batch of heads will be built to have more airspace, if I understood this correctly. Sounds good.
And I wonder if the pips in the newer Stardust heads are crimping the airflow there as well. The original ones had a much bigger effective hole, and they seemed to have a slight edge in flavor.
The voltage rate they mentioned is what worked best for me, from trying different setups, so I get that.
I am assuming, from their lack of mention, that the funky coils that lit up from the leads were an error of some kind in the first group of units? I didn't get any more of those, and I haven't heard anyone mention them anymore, so maybe that's the case.
What I don't quite get is the issue of the burnt gaskets that some folks are getting. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure that would produce bad taste - the gasket isn't actually touching the juice. But, regardless, it shouldn't be burning. At the very least it destroys the gasket eventually, and it still may be contributing to the funk.
The gasket gets singed because the lead wires are heating up to glowing - with funky coils way before the coil itself, and with working coils at the same time as the coil itself. In that instance, it's inevitable that the gasket will get singed. A workaround solution is simply not to dry burn the coils, or so it seems to me. If there is sufficient liquid in the wick, the coil, and the lead wires, presumably, won't heat up to such a degree. So cleaning would have to be done without dry burning. Bummer.
I don't really understand why the lead wires on all the ViVi heads are heating up like that. I just checked my old tubeless Fluxo assembly, and there the leads don't heat up like that when dry-fired. Can someone check the a Stardust for that? My eyes are not quite up to the task.
I was sort of hoping that the tech gurus at Vision could explain that one...

Point #2 is interesting and might very well be a possible resolution for muted flavour.
Quote: "if you ever happened any Muted flavor or even no flavor, Please lift a little bit of the " rubber caps " inside of the coils this way will make it get more air and produces clouds of vapor and best throat hit or flavouring."
