OP - i would stop vaping and see my GP if i were in the same position as you. You are more likely to have caught a bug from the seller than been harmed by a minute amount of silica dust. Back in the day us oldies used to breathe in half a pound of talcum powder after our yearly baths......
O/T
A long time ago and in a galaxy far, far away i would occasionally share food from my mouth with my then wife.....
I am no longer married.

A lot of the vape shops I’ve been in the guys working there share vapes with everyone. I remember I wanted to try a flavor when I was a newbie and the guy handed me some crusty looking rda and mod with the nastiness lip gunk caked on the drip tip and said try this. No no no no no no no I never ran so fast. I do not want natures love sore.

@Goto661, look at your ecig mod and atomizer boxes and tell us what you bought. Then, we can give you more relevant info on how to set up your vape. Coils don't come primed and you have to do that when you install one or the vape is hot and dry and terrible. It's a multiple step process. You add juice, wait, and add more, and wait until the wicking is saturated. I used to wait 15 minutes after it looked juicy to make sure all the filler was saturated.

You can't depend on the tank to work correctly when the coil wicking is scorched.

The more info we have, the better the answers you'll get.

Silica gel: What happens if I eat it?
OK, so, what happens if you eat it?

Nothing. Silica gel is a form of the naturally occurring mineral silicon dioxide, better known in its granular form as sand or in crystals as quartz. Its most notable trait is its porousness, which allows it to absorb up to 40 percent of its weight in water. Since at least the mid-20th-century, it has been widely used as a desiccant, placed inside containers to prevent the contents from getting damp. Most commonly, it comes in the shape of beads wrapped in a permeable packet. Used in everything from museum display cases to electronic equipment packaging to boxes of seaweed, it is popular in part because—contrary to the warnings—it's an inert, nontoxic substance that's essentially harmless. Indigestible, it passes through the body and comes out looking much the same as when it went in. At least one manufacturer even markets a modified form of silica gel as a dietary supplement, complete with "new citrus taste."

Have you tried somebody else's kit that they enjoy? Or tried a vape one finds better than others? IDK why nobody puts emphasis that pre made coils are horrible. They are not good in any shape or form.

There's tools that made building simple coils easy and so fast

There's a huge market for them as they are drop-in, use, toss-out when done. A LOT of people simply fear building, others believe it too complex, and others simply aren't able to do it for physical/health reasons.

Even with some companies trying to make it ubber simple, it never took.

For example: Look at the Bachelor RTA tanks, which you could buy the coils that were pre-wicked at the proper length, two per blister pack, all that was needed was to unscrew the leg holder screws (postless deck), drop the legs in the holes, tighten the screws and push the tip of the wicks in the feed holes and done, less than a minute. But it never took.

So for cartridges, yes, they aren't that great for the most part.. they are used up quickly, expensive overall, but it's about convenience... for many vaping needs to be as simple as possible, as otherwise the mentality is, "well a cigarette is light up and smoke" and consider that vaping should be as simple.

This.

The reason pod systems and AIO setups are so popular is because they appeal to that mindset. A good portion look down their noses at these simple systems but the truth is that they are probably the future of vaping.

Doubt the silca pack hurt you but ick someone blowing in your vape. I was never a big sharer. Even as a kid I would not drink out of the same cup or bottle as someone else (even family) whereas most of the people I knew thought nothing of it. They shared all kinds of smokes, drinks etc....

When I first went into a vape shop some years back inquiring about flavors they offered to let me try a flavor. I said "Great" not really knowing what to expect and then they picked up a common vape and they put on a new mouthpiece and gave it to me. I would not vape from it and they were all astounded that I would not vape from it. As I tried to explain a small crowd gathered. Some of the guys in there were muttering calling me "prissy". Far from it -- but I thought that was so gross who knows what saliva fluids went into to what was on the coil. If I'm standoffish with even those I know why on earth would I want someone else's fluids? They tried to tell me it was burned off and sanitized. No dice ---gross. Gross! Gross!
