I have used the same method for over a year: 4oz mason jar with about 2 pipebowls full of tobacco...50mls of a 50/50 vodka/PG mixture. I place the mason jar on a regular coffee warmer for two hours giving it two vigorous shakes in between. After the process is complete I strain the mixture through a coffee filter into a 30 ml bottle. I have been yielding an average of 30mls. of liquid per operation.
I then make a 5ml sample with 6 drops of flavor. I drip it into my LR atomizer and give it a try before setting stuff out to steep. I mostly steep for 48 hrs. using the same coffee warmer intermittently.
I've come up with some awesome(and not so awesome)vapes.
I have to say though, that the American Spirit Natural, which is a roll your own tobacco hasn't had time to enjoy the steeping process yet and I'm on my second bottle;it's that good!!!
I also like mixing my extracts with commercial tobacco flavors. I find that a little Desert Ship from Inawera added to my Navy flake covers gaps between layers..etc
Well, that's my 2 cents worth.
