Any mystery holds interest for me. I don't comment unless I think I have something with at least some tiny value worth adding, but I read most everything too. Sometimes I know that opening my virtual mouth to add my opinion is just going to be incendiary and I "shut up shuttin' up". The intelligence thing I do ok with. The "wisdom thing" is a WIP.
>> Do you really believe that we're going to see the end of conventional cigarettes in our lifetime?
Unlikely. But does that mean we shouldn't lay the groundwork for the future?
Tombaugh's ashes are on their way to Pluto, I heard. He never got to see probes leaving our solar system in his life, but he's getting a ride on one - just a little late - that wouldn't even be possible without his work.
Newton never got to see images from the edge of the known universe, but we wouldn't have either if it weren't for him.
Should we wring our hands and say "the problem is insurmountable. Let's not bother...", or do we roll up our sleeves and build a solid foundation for the future?
>> I think that before that happens, we'll have to find that missing ingredient
And yet so many drop smoking instantaneously. People smoking four or five packs a day, even, forsaking in favor of vaping quite spontaneously.
>> I'm drinking gallons of coffee and eating sourkraut with soy sauce
I'm not, and I'm not alone by so very many reports - but then neither are you. I don't think we have any good studies suggesting that it is typical for people to quit smoking instantly with vaping, by the same token - nothing that says it isn't. Sorry that it's been tough for you, sincerely. I hope that doesn't leave you with a bad taste for something that has aided so many to near-effortlessly abandon decades of smoking.
