That's great! Eventually he won't even like the taste of cigs! Some people just take longer than others, but with such a great supporter by his side I know he'll be smoke free! :D

Awe, thank you!

He's really trying. He started vaping about 2 days after I did and after taking some hits from mine and catching a buzz. He was shocked that he got that feeling from something that wasn't a real cig. He was quite impressed by it.

Steve,

thank you for coming back. I think I will take you up on that. I just cant get the draw Like I want it, even with the toothpicks. I tried.

Jleigh,

Steve just posted that you can request the older style when ordering. Right it is just affecting the auto batts that have the larger holes which are the new styles. Some ppl, as Steve posted, do like the easy draw batts but it's just not to my preference.

Yes I know, but I think the purple batts are new, and I don't know if they even come in the old style, hence my question. :)

VERY glad I saw this post. I was about to place a battery order for the purple auto, but not if the draw is that light. And jammed toothpicks, tape, and carto condoms on my battery is NOT going to work for me. :p

Do all the purple batts have the new airflow design, or can I request one with the old airflow?

Funny how these new battery's work best, draw harder, more laike a cigarette, and they work perfect. my gut say's, you have a bad switch on yours, and you would love it with a good switch, and a hearty draw:D

You are very lucky for our V4L warrantee, cause, it is the BEST in the world

V4L will male ya smile:p

Nope. It means that you are a nice and kind person who figured out how to get the best out of what life offers you. A rare gift.

[Clapping]

I have just about all the Autos. I agree they have different characters. But I was a smoker. I suck on a burning stick full of leaves. No one consulted me about optimizing the device, a device that hadn't changed in hundreds of years (other than to make it more toxic and more addictive...).

I don't need another hobby, but I'm fascinated to watch it grow AND get to play my bit-part in that process.

Interesting times. A time when we get to see, in the US alone, a half billion dollar A DAY industry get stood on its ear and served notice.

I know I'm probably in a bit different place than most, but I'm just enjoying the ride.

My dear Adrenalynn,

nothing gets by you, does it? And I thought you had little interest in things not related to quantum physics. I do read your posts even though I have no idea what you're talking about half the time. Humanities. No degree in fine arts will help you if your battery goes bust. But you're an endless source of information and amusement.

Do you really believe that we're going to see the end of conventional cigarettes in our lifetime? I think that before that happens, we'll have to find that missing ingredient that is still lacking in our lovely vapor. I have some thoughts about it, there is a lot of research being conducted right now that indicates that MAO-inhibitors might be involved. Nonselective MAO-B, in particular. I'm following some studies, I'll report when I'm satisfied. In the meantime, I'm drinking gallons of coffee and eating sourkraut with soy sauce to help me with the transition to vaping. :D:D:D

Any mystery holds interest for me. I don't comment unless I think I have something with at least some tiny value worth adding, but I read most everything too. Sometimes I know that opening my virtual mouth to add my opinion is just going to be incendiary and I "shut up shuttin' up". The intelligence thing I do ok with. The "wisdom thing" is a WIP. ;)

>> Do you really believe that we're going to see the end of conventional cigarettes in our lifetime?

Unlikely. But does that mean we shouldn't lay the groundwork for the future?

Tombaugh's ashes are on their way to Pluto, I heard. He never got to see probes leaving our solar system in his life, but he's getting a ride on one - just a little late - that wouldn't even be possible without his work.

Newton never got to see images from the edge of the known universe, but we wouldn't have either if it weren't for him.

Should we wring our hands and say "the problem is insurmountable. Let's not bother...", or do we roll up our sleeves and build a solid foundation for the future?

>> I think that before that happens, we'll have to find that missing ingredient

And yet so many drop smoking instantaneously. People smoking four or five packs a day, even, forsaking in favor of vaping quite spontaneously.

>> I'm drinking gallons of coffee and eating sourkraut with soy sauce

I'm not, and I'm not alone by so very many reports - but then neither are you. I don't think we have any good studies suggesting that it is typical for people to quit smoking instantly with vaping, by the same token - nothing that says it isn't. Sorry that it's been tough for you, sincerely. I hope that doesn't leave you with a bad taste for something that has aided so many to near-effortlessly abandon decades of smoking.

I agree with Aubergine and Adrenalynn that these batteries have personalities, they are all a little different but they are all good. Learning how to deal with them is part of the fun of vaping. I had a friend once, a pipe smoker, who had an extensive pipe collection and choosing the right pipe for every occasion was a very important part of his smoking ritual. He was very fussy about it and we smokers didn't really appreciate it, after all, one cig is just like another cig. Now I'm beginning to understand...

Adrenalynn, I don't want to hijack the thread, we'll discuss MAO-inhibitors some other time, but I want to let you know that I wasn't complaining at all. I'm not having a hard time, on the contrary, without even trying I went down from a pack (more or less) a day to 3-5 "anchor" analogs (morning, evening, sometimes midday) while I'm still learning the ropes and experimenting with batteries and flavors. I am a success story and I suspect that I smoke those anchor analogs only because I can't believe that I actually could stop. Or because I'm afraid that I actually might.

Cigarettes were easy to pick up, too easy. I learned it from watching parents, started sneaking around with friends, and mastered it on my own doing. All I had to do was light the end with a match or lighter and start puffing away, and as I got more used to it, started inhaling the mess without coughing.

But, with vaping and battery operated cigarettes, there isn't anyone to watch and learn from. There's a learning curve apparently that some of us can't seem to get our minds wrapped around. This isn't what we're used to but we keep at it because we want it to work for us. The easy thing to do is go back to cigarettes while the hard thing to do is ask questions. Vaping mimics smoking, the act of; so, why is it a challenge forsome and not others? Why can't I just adjust my draw to the way the battery was made like some of you can?

I'm not an engineer, or an electrician, or a scientist. I have no idea how or why things work and I really just don't give a .... about the INS and out of it. I'm just a mom and all I want is for this to work, dammit! I don't want my kids exposed to smoke day in and day out when there is now something I can do to prevent that.
