I'm currently using 16mg since that was the highest available from a suggested site. When I first bought my starter kit 3 weeks ago I didn't realize that all the carts were zero nic for a couple days. I bought some "high" carts and haven't had a cigarette since then. I just ordered some 48mg to cut with VP since the 16mg is still too weak. The last pack I smoked was Bali-shag but I was also smoking Parliament lights about 5 packs a week.

Been vaping for a year now after smoking for 30. Gradually increased the nic content from 18mg, 24mg to 36mg which finally killed the cravings for an anolog. Haven't bothered smoking since then although there has been the occasional 'shall I?' but remind myself of the last analog I had and it was fairly horrible. That aside I found that as I found the right balance of device and eliquid for me, quitting has been so easy. I always started this, as I had tried pretty much everything else, with the mind that I wasn't going to try and quit analogs but that if it worked then great. Been smoke free for a while now and am back down to 24mg with no problem. Plan to get down to 18mg before packing it in altogether.

I have been smoking 1/2 to 3/4 a pack of camel lights a day for 6 years. i typically vape 18mg. sometimes 24mg depending on how i feel...i started off a little high, i suppose.

but then again i can vape on 6mg, and even zero sometimes and feel just fine...i dunno maybe it's more of just the oral fixation than anything...one of these days im gonna try and vape zero all day and see how i feel.

I first started with prefilled 'low' (8mg) carts and that first week was a little piece of hell but got me off analogs regardless. After asking on here I ordered juice in 18mg according to what my smoking habits had been before the switch. It helped so much! After vaping the 18mg for a few weeks I started cutting my nic level. I'm now at 12mg and vape 5ml every 3 days or so. I am hoping to cut to 8mg then 6mg and so on til I'm at 0mg. I will most likely continue vaping as I do love the act of it as I did with analogs. It's very relaxing to me and I can't imagine not having that pleasure in my life :)

36mg for 6 months now......Plan on cutting down to 24mg in the not to distant future!:)The Wiz!

36mg got me off analogues...after a couple of months, 18mg is easily enough to keep me off them. If 18mg had been the strongest available when I started, though, I probably could not have given up analogues.
TWM.

...In times of high stress, in the morning and after meals I vape 36mg+. Other than that I vape anywhere between 24mg all the way down to 0mg... Talmadge

started at 18 for a week...........when the 36 arrived I never touched another cig. last week I dropped to 10mg and didn't notice a thing. As in nothing, no problems. I am currently vaping 8-12mg and could vape zero, but the flavor sucks and I think nicotine makes me happy.

... Since I've moved to vaping with 6 volts, I'm now at 12 and sometimes 8 with no problems with cravings.

I'm pretty surprised how many 36mg users there are. ..I use 16, 18, and occasionally 24mg liquids, just on what's available from my favorite supplier at whatever given time...Do any of you notice a difference between 16 and 24 milligram liquids?

18 mg is doing me pretty well... 24 mg just kept giving me headaches...

I'm currently using 16mg... I just ordered some 48mg to cut with VP since the 16mg is still too weak...

I cut 48 down to about 19. I seem to be vaping more esp first thing in the am...

2 days into this poll and it's proving an education for me with out doubt. I thought I was going to be happy at 36mg only and what with the sales of that level pretty much coming to an end I've been stocking up.

I currently have 240ml of unflavored, 100ml of coffee, 45ml of RY4 and assorted smaller quantities of 36mg.

The responses continue to highlight some very promising trends. First and foremost, the respondents are aware of their nic intake and adjust according to their needs. Responsibility w/o governance.

The other significant trend I'm reading here is the number of folks that are successfully controlling there addiction while purposefully reducing their nicotine intake. Gives me hope that I can do the same!!

Just received an assortment of bottles and a syringe in today's mail. If I can do as others, start cutting my nic down, that ridiculous amount of 36mg I've accumulated should translate into enough juice to last me, hell I don't know, looong damn time

Great input all!

I was a 40 year 3 pack per day guy. I had been using the 36mg until the past couple of weeks. i just can't find the 36 hardly at all now. I have switched to 24mg and fear I am already having trouble. I hope I am able to cope with the lower nic. So far I just vape more often and put a big demand on the 510 atomizers. I'll just have to do what's necessary. I don't want to go back to analogs.

I smoked Marlboro Ultra Lights for over 10 years and before that I always smoked a light cigarette of some kind.

I started vaping on July 8th and I vape 5mg nic, but I vape non-stop, all day long. I tried vaping the 12mg and about fried my throat and lungs.

I'm still waiting on all my supplies but I think I'll try bumping it up to about 8mg and see if that keeps me from vaping like a steam engine all day.

I smoked 1+packs a day for 21years(marl reds). I started vaping with 24mg and dropped the analogs the first day I got my 1st e-cig. I wasn't trying to quit. After a week I got a really sick feeling while I was at work, like real bad, felt like vomiting and laying down but I just worked through it. Then a week after that I was getting bad headaches. I started to cut my 24mg by 50% with VG and the headaches went away. I think the sick feeling was widthdraw from the chemicals in the analogs and the headaches were from too much nicotine.

Now I can go all day without touching my e-cig. I enjoy it when I get home and crack a beer. I vary my nicotine as I feel like it,12mg-24mg,but the funny thing is that I don't feel like I even need it, I just enjoy it. I haven't voted yet because I'm not sure what to vote for.

OK, after typing this I figure it was the 24mg that got me off the analogs even though I feel I don't need any now. I vape because I like the feeling of the nicotine rather then the urge of having to have it, goodbye addiction.:D

I smoked a LOT of Drum rollies for the last ten years. Smoked Newport or Marlboro Reds for 21 years prior to the Drum.

Started vaping 18 mg and had to jump up to 36 after a week. it helped a lot but it is still not enough. Not chasing any kind of buzz but I think it's gonna take 48mg to kill the monkey on my back. It took me 31 years to feed the monkey so I'm in no hurry to starve him- I plan on reducing my nic VERY slowly- maybe 2-4 mg per month but only after I have a solid month 100% free from analogs. Still smoking 1-3 per day most days although I have had a few Zero-cig days in the past month.

To all the net-nannies/nicotine police who think they need to protect me from "hurting" myself with 48 or even 36: Mind your own damn biz, get a life, and stay outta mine.

I'm only on my 5th day of vaping and I'm having trouble finding the right amount. I hope someone can make sense of what I should be doing differently.

I'm a 40 year smoker, one to two packs a day during that time. After much reading of these forums I got a 510 kit and an assortment of PG 18mg flavors (because the small bottles from the supplier were all 18.)

I'm going through a fair bit of juice, about 4ml per day I think. But I'm not vaping a whole lot and I'm not finding it entirely satisfying.

Is it normal to get just 6 to 8 draws from 2 or 3 drops of juice? I discovered that I don't really like the cartridge approach - for me, it takes too long for the atty to reload, and even then I don't get what feels like a great hit. So I soon turned to dripping. I drip 2 or 3 drops depending on how dry the atty seems, then get a handful of hits which feel almost good enough, at 5 to 8 seconds drawing for each.

Any advice? If I up the nicotine level will those draws be more satisfying? Should I try to adapt to more and smaller puffs or just keep going for a killer puff that will feel just right? If anyone has advice I'll much appreciate it.

BTW, I have more flavor samples on order, and some 24mg in a flavor I like, and some 36mg unflavored, and a Janty Stick. I'm determined to make this work but I'd sure to satisfy something that I'm missing, not sure what that is (physical sensation, nicotine, or what?)

Sounds to me like you need some higher strength nicotine juice.

Is it normal to get just 6 to 8 draws from 2 or 3 drops of juice?
With a 510, I would say yes.
Sounds like you sit on that button for awhile though, just like me.

I discovered that I don't really like the cartridge approach - for me, it takes too long for the atty to reload
Oh yeah, so you're a power hitter as well.
:)

Search for the "Windmill Method" which I will be calling the "Thermometer Method" from now on.
Or try the Pyramid Tea Bags as a substitute for the factory cartridge filler.

You are in serious need of improved wicking.
Some of use suffer this daily.

Thank you so much Deadcat2, that's a huge help!

I'll up my nic level as soon as possible.

I found your posts about "Thermometer Method", they're good reading. (I'm not allowed to post links yet but if anyone reading this wants to read a wonderful description, search for "variations shake verified" and find a post by Deadcat2)

I'll buy some Pyramid tea bags today and then learn the Thermometer Method. (I'd rather be shaking that nylon toward the atty than 8-o polyfill )

I was a 1-2 pack a day smoker for 13 years. About 5 of those years I smoked Newports, and the rest I smoked Camel Lights, Reds, Wides, or Turkish Silvers. I have juices from 5mg all the way up to 36mg. I really don't like anything over 11mg, as they just don't taste as good to me. I've been making some blends that come out to around 8mg, and that seems to satisy perfectly.
