Very interesting topic, OTD...thx for starting it.

Only in my 4th day of vape and have only used the 18mg. I smoked a pack and a half of strong menthols (gotta have that burn) Now I'm down to 1/2 pack but it's tough.

I'm using a 510 which I like, but that kick is just not there. Menthol juice which I got from the widow. Trying to decide whether I should up my nic or try to stick it out on the 18, since I just ordered more.

Can't vote yet since I'm not yet smoke free but looking forward to when I can. :)

Interesting indeed!

Although the total number of poll respondents at this time is low the results are telling. Perhaps the juice manufacturers actually stopped selling 36mg simply cuz the market, us, didn't make it worth while?

I actually quit tobacco as a natural order of events kinda thing worx4u. Vaping for awhile and no more analogs just happened. Gradual and no stress. Now, reducing the nic level down from 36mg is gonna be another story I fear.

Baby steps....:D

I voted 24mg. Thats what I been using for over a month now, but to start, I was using 36mg for about the first month or so (2 pk a day smoker for about 10 years, about 3 yrs at around a pk a day). Now, I wont use 36 because it just seems too high at this point. I adjusted to 24mg real easy, but cutting it down to less than that at this point just makes me vape heavier and seems counterproductive because of that. I need to learn to cut down on the vaping and get a good routine going, kinda like cutting down on cigarettes. 36 to 24 however has made me feel a lot better though, just gotta work on cutting that down somehow at this point. 24mg is the sweet spot for now.

Yeah, as I stated in another thread, I didn't start e-cigging to quit, I did it mostly out of rebellion against Big Gov, besides the other perks. But since I've started, I'd love to lay the stinkies down once & for all....even tho I love/hate them. :)

Maybe you could switch back & forth for a bit with the 24s til you get weaned. Good luck with it.....half the battle's in the mind ;)

The concentration of nicotine in the juice is a little misleading. If you vape 12 mg all day long are you better off than someone who does 36 mg a few times a day? There are so many options available to vapers that smokers don't have, it's hard to compare.

If I were allowed to post in the grown up section I would ask "What amount of nicotine per day (mg x ml used) do you need to stay off analogs" and then ask for details.

It seems that with options, various people have gravitated towards a more unique experience. Some go high so they can vape less, while others go low and vape more. I guess it all depends on if they want the 'nic hit' or the calming after effect (or both). And don't forget some people have juice stingy anemic attys while others have juice guzzeling oral fog machines. :)

But when half a mind is all ya got to work with....8-o

Good call on the switching back and forth. That very thought crossed what mind I've got left earlier this evening. Sounds like a good way to start the process!

My own experiences coupled with the tone of several recent threads has me curious about the level of nicotine each of us requires to stay off of tobacco.

I'm closing in on 5 months of vaping and 4 months of being analog clean.

I started out with 12mg juice. Went up through 18 and 24mg, hit 36mg and tobacco went good-bye!

When I go to use up the remaining juice I have that is less than 36mg I get very antsy after about 1 day. 3 or 4 draws of 36mg and I'm fine.

What level of nicotine do you use to keep tobacco at bay?
Started at 24 but wanted to lower nic level so ordered some 11 mg stuff. Good vap but am still stealin an analog every now and then. Got some 24 comming and hope it will "Kill the Beast" :>)

I voted 24mg, since that is what I started out with. I have been vaping for 9 days and have been totally analog free for over 7 days. I don't use the 24mg at full strength anymore. I have been using a mix of 24mg menthol/ 18mg RY4/ VG (glycerin) so I can vape more without as much nic. I was getting lightheaded/heartburn vaping alot with the 24 mg menthol juice at full strength. I used to smoke alittle over a pack of day (about 25 analogs) of menthol 100's (lights or full flavor, whichever was cheaper at the time).

Perhaps smaller steps rbonie. If the 24mg keeps ya off the analogs, cut some to 20 or 18mg and see how it works for ya.

I currently use 24mg.
BUt, Im wondering if I need somehting stronger,
I still smoke around 10 analogs a day, thats better than 3 packs though.
I think its more a mind thing than anything.
I just keep buying analogs.
Maybe, Ill try some 36mg, again, I have some in mint.

10 analogs from 30 is DAMN fine vaporich, no doubt.

Evening folks.
Fun to see this thread still has some legs. I've gone ahead and been cutting 36mg to 24mg, this is the 3rd full day, and haven't had any probs yet.

36 is what it took to "Kill the Beast" for me. Dropping the nic content in small steps is the route that makes sense for me. Good luck to the both of ya!

Amazing how often that's the case, vape replacing smoke. Always good to hear from people that take the time to find out what works for them.

18 MG here. I still have most of a bottle of 24 left. It was my first bottle (JC Original ordered from Amazon). I found the 24 to be just a bit too much; it makes me jittery.

After being off of tobacco for over 3 months now, I'm no longer in fear of going back to them. The thought of smoking a tobacco cigarette seems completely foreign to me now. And that is one of the greatest feelings in the world.

It's sort of funny. I always assumed that, if I ever managed to quit smoking, it would be so hard to be around another smoker. I wondered how ex smokers do it. The temptation. The frustration of not being able to have one. But it's so not like that. Tobacco cigs hold absolutely no attraction to me anymore.

I'm close to where you are 42109. Maybe with a higher nic mg I can get to where williesgirl is.

I have been a this two months. I am vaping 11mg all day but once a month I need an extra punch.
I have not tried the 18 mg so I can't really vote yet. I end up buying a pack of cigs and throwing them away so I will be trying 18mg as a back up as well as ordering zero nic juices. I think 16 or 18 might help with the oral fixation thing or if not the zero nicotine to keep it sane.

I started with 18mg and am now down to 11mg with anywhere from 0mg to 9mg tossed in sometimes.
It's taken me 3 months to step down and didn't do it in a hurry. Just kinda phased it in and so far I'm happy.
I originally took it up as a alternative to smoking and getting rid of the nic has kinda just happened slowly as I found I could go a bit lower and still be happy.

I would like to get down to 0mg just so I won't have to worry about obtaining nic just in case and then could just make my own.

I'm so jealous of you and your kind. You low nic people you! :D

Thought I was doing the baby step thing going from 36 down to 24 but it's not working well. Memory, focus, attention to detail and so on are really shot! I've held myself at 24mg since the 25th of last month and I'm at such a point of frustration I'm ready to just give up on trying to lower my intake altogether.

My stars. If all I had available was 18mg I'd probably end up the front page! 8-o

Honestly I bet alot of it has to so with the individual . I am one of those people that really smoking was a comfort habit and the process. I stressed, I had a cig. After work or needing a break, also ciggie time.
The nic addiction came as a side and wasn't the primary reason I smoked imo.

Vaping ( for me at least) satisfies the primary habit..hand to mouth, holding, and puffing and the routine involved. It's also allowing me to wean off the nic that came with smoking.

Strong flavors also helped. Weak flavors just don't cut it for me regardless of nic content . Weird eh.
