The whole “horde hardware because they’ll make it illegal and it will vault in price “ argument has been used many many times by firearms manufacturers and has resulted in some people having vaults of hundreds of weapons they hope to sell one day for gigantic sums. It so far has not materialized despite something like 6 rounds of frantic warnings.
The only example of where such a thing happened that I know of was Australia. Black market prices did skyrocket, but demand also dropped drastically. It’s a single data point though.
My personal suspicion is IF a ban goes into effect one might get more for a device if sold, but the actual selling becomes exponentially more difficult to the point that it may no longer be worth doing.
How many firearms do you own?
I've never seen or heard of any firearms manufactures telling people to horde now because the price will go up once they are illegal.
Every firearm I own has increased in value and are still legal.

I know some folks (one immediate family member, actually).

It's worked out very well for him, but he's been methodical with his selections. Some rather interesting ones, for sure.

By today's standards, possible, in which case Clinton & JFK wouldn't be dems either.

The US has splintered, possibly irreparably.

    Article V.
Haven’t seen any dog whistles about that one myself, but I also pay as little attention to the extremist left as I do to the extremist right. Extremism is not new. There have always been people claiming their extreme view is the only real one. I have seen claims that Clinton would have been considered a moderate republican in outlook compared to earlier periods, but it’s been generally attributed to a shift from the right rather than the left. Both were considered conservative Democrats within their period.
The issue is there is both a largely static continuum when looking at the history of American politics as a whole and a very fluid one when looking at particular periods. There is also the world continuum where the whole of American politics can be compared against the rest of the planet. Both as a whole and by period.

I suppose you are not familiar with what has happened to the market value of transferable full-autos since 1986, when no more were allowed to be registered. Or even what happened to the price of pre-ban semis and magazines that were previously standard-capacity for them during the ten years of the "assault weapons ban" between 1994 and 2004.

That said, I don't think the same thing will happen with vape gear. It's too easy to make, it's not serialized, and there are no mandatory records of purchases or ownership changes.

Now high-quality nic base, that may well go up in value if/when the FDA restricts it, or when it's excessively taxed. If nic base were taxed to generate revenue similar to cigarettes, it would cost thousands of dollars per liter.

I'll offer you a counter argument.

450-480,000 people die from lung cancer every year,,, most are not vaping,,, so as time goes on,,, good luck finding 4500 (1%) available working mods/attys per year for sale

    Common parabolic pattern:
    1%
    2%
    4%
    8%
Etc. With each cycle,, our gear ages,, some holds up well,, some not so much,,

The US is the primary market and producer of firearms though. It is A primary market for ecig stuff but not the only one. It is almost not a producer at all. The vast majority of hardware is imported. The behavior of other countries is going to have a much larger impact on hardware manufacture than it would for the firearms market.

...and I recall vendors at gun shows pricing $600 AR-15 rifles at $1500-2000 right after Sandy Hook. Hell, $10 magazines went up to $25 - if you could find any.

Granted, it was temporary, and driven by uncertainty.

I think the least expensive AR15 I've ever built was $1200.

It is getting nearly impossible to tell these days. I blame tinfoil and think it should be outright banned. Sure, some people use it responsibly, but too many people (an epidemic really) are making hats out of tinfoil in an attempt to block the carefully metered doses of mind control rays being beamed down upon us from government satellites. This means the rest of us are not only getting our standard rays, but all sorts of wave-form interference from all the reflected rays of the tinfoil hat wearers. Second head mind-control rays are harmful and we should not be subjected to them just because a few individuals are addicted to their own thoughts. Think about the children!

Enough is enough. We need to get out of our chairs, go to our windows, open them, stick our heads out, and calmly declare "I'm slightly perturbed here and I'd like the government to protect me!"
    BRAVO!!! HAHA!!!

I may have missed during the skim but I don't believe it's really chance the site owner started a marijuana area. Maybe it will be like, USA users get bleeped out if they mention nic vaping (kidding) but there are members all over the world and maybe there will be some "super secret" forum for those of us in the US like the Singapore forum, who knows.

I plan to chill until something happens if it does. I mean something will but I won't be wasting sleep over it quite yet..

You know what's stupid... they ban e-cig and legalize marijuana...o_O
This may be what you are saying but what I find the stupidest is the blaming and banning of ecigs for the problems associated with THC vapes that ecigs did not cause, while NOT actually doing anything about the THC vapes that caused the actual problems in the first place.

it’s like that stupid chain of multiple misreasonings that cause villagers to kill anyone that wore glasses during “the Great Leap Forward”. So many levels of stupid piled on top of each other it’s hard to even unravel.

Yes, I'm confident that's correct. I've said it several times: I expect there will be hardware vendors overseas who will be willing to ship products the US. The questions are: Will there be a straightforward way to pay them, and what the chances of interdiction will be if those items are not legal in the US? These factors will have an influence on the price at which such items trade for within the US.

It's actually quite simple to make an Altoids mod. I'm working on a couple wood mods right now.

The price of primers and powder skyrocketed during Obama's presidency, a person who was wise early on had an investment as valuable as gold.
