I was sitting outside enjoying a vape on my break at work, when all the sudden I heard someone say "Is that one of those electronic cigarettes?" It was a new guy that had only been there for about 3 weeks.

I turned around ready to start my speech and I noticed that his "cigarette" hadn't burned down any. He was using a super mini. Anyway, we got to talking, and it turns out, he has a bit of stock and is planning on selling them.

Other than him, the only other vaper I know is my wife.

Nobody in Ft Myers Florida, and nobody in Switzerland so far.
I did see a TSA guy vape in an airport before i was vaping.
I asked him what it was.
It is because of this man that I now vape.

I've not noticed anyone though there seems to be quite a few of us in the Tampa Bay area. Then again, I don't get out much.

Last Saturday I took both my 510 and SmokeStik with me when I got my hair cut. I knew the guy smoked -- I had told him the last time I was in that I was getting an e-cig. I asked him this time if he'd checked them out and he'd forgotten. So I let him try mine and he thought they were cool. I told him to check out the forum.

I know there are a handful of forum members in the area. A guy I work w/ got one about the same time I did after we talked about them on a smoke break. He got his from the mall and I ordered mine.

I have not seen anybody in this area (mid-west Wisconsin). Relatively, a small population here, about 55,000 people or so.
I did meet another vaporer on this forum, he lives about 5 miles down the road from me.
I believe vaping is too "taboo", for most to make themselves noticed.
I have yet to feel comfortable to vape my Prodigy in public.

4,000 people in town here and I know of only 1 other vaper, got him started,but I've heard of 2 others but not met them yet.

I only know of one person in a 20 mile radius that has one. And he was the one that convinced me to get one and told me about the whole thing. I need to find him somewhere up at the bar that I saw him and say thanks now that I finally got mine today!

Nope. Haven't seen anyone around here with one. I've told quite a few smokers that I know about them, but all I've heard is, too expensive or too much work involved.

I was having lunch with my daughter at a mall in Columbus Ohio. I asked if I was allowed to smoke outside on the patio where we were eating. The waiter rolled his eyes, said he was a smoker too, but no smoking on the patio. I will never eat at places that take smoking bans this far, but I was with my daughter, so I did not want to make a big deal. I then asked him if I was allowed to vape, and of course, he was all excited when I showed him. Funny thing was, he came back outside a few minutes later and pointed to a guy at the inside bar, vaping on what looked like a Dura. Very few people have knowledge of e cigs, despite what it appears on this forum.

Interesting. And you're from a pretty big city as well huh? I guess when we 'hear' of the thousands of people on this forum, it's deceiving. I really thought someone at this point would say, yeah! I was in my car....blah blah blah.....but no. Not one yet.

I found out about them from a woman @ my regular watering hole. I've since turned several people on, mostly at the bar. But I have people come up to me all the time asking "Is that 1 of those electronic cigarettes?"

Yeah, I always think and hope I will see someone else with one, but it never seems to happen.

Columbus is pretty big, but it's nothing near like Austin, TX or anything, I don't think.

Sunday morning about 3 weeks ago, I placed my order with JC for a sampler pack. Johnson Creek is only about 15 minutes away, and I thought it would be cool to try the local juice.

After placing my order, I went to do some shopping, and ended up at a strip mall in Brookfield. When I was walking back to my car, these two guys walked out of a Pier One, and one of them was vaping. As I got closer, I noticed that they were both wearing shirts that said "America's Best Smoke Juice" (or "Favorite", I don't remember). I said, "Are you guys from Johnson Creek?" And they said "Yeah".

It was a fairly awkward "deer in the headlights" moment, where suddenly, the internet had entered the real world for a second. But, I mentioned the irony that I had JUST placed an order, said good luck, and went on my way. At the time, I wasn't quite sure if they were from JC Smoke Juice, or just two guys from Johnson Creek.

I had to make an address change, so I emailed the company, and I also mentioned that I was the guy that ran into two of their guys on Sunday.

It turns out that the two guys were the owners of the company. They ended up comping my order, because I recognized their brand on the street!

So, free JC juice for me. I'm not entirely pleased with the taste, but I thought it was incredibly cool to give it out for free.

Anyway, that's the only time I've ever seen another vaper in my area.

BTW, I'm still a junior member, so I've been waiting for like a week to tell this story in an appropriate thread. Thanks.

Interesting. Since I didn't know, I looked it up on Infoplease. Columbus is actually slightly bigger than Austin.

Hmm, never would have thought that they would be that close! Haven't been to Austin for ages, went there once in 97. Maybe I should have compared it to Houston.

Maybe it's just because I am used to Columbus, I just never thought of it like a "Big City" type city.
