oh my bad. its been a while since I looked at all that. good feature to have for sure

edit: my mechs have thermal monitoring too. "is this hot? oh god it feels hot. *pulls out battery and touches to lips feeling that it is in fact not the slightest bit hot* oh that's better". I repeat this ritual about every time I vape

It's hard to dispute the quality, reliability, and "work-horse" features of ProVape's chip.. It's only going to get better. :) They're working on something now, but details are hush-hush..

We do have some new technology being developed, its just not perfect yet, but we are working around the clock to make it happen as soon as possible. As soon as its ready we will certainly let everyone know.

I'm fairly certain ProVape will follow suit with upgrades offered to existing ProVari's like done with the v2. ($20.00 in that case) ;) :)

If it does 30w and gets a more modern look I'd be all over a new provari. even if they just put in an option, pay $10 extra for a 22mm top cap instead of the 19mm cap, it would help a lot. Don't get me wrong, the current provari is an excellent, if dated product. but as it sits it just doesn't fit my vape style

What I love is how P.opus drops that line, gets everyone (except me, I embrace my nature) worked up, then ghosts out of here....leaving a fantastic train wreck in his wake!

Wow, you make an obvious observation about some SERIOUS flirting going on, and you get blamed for the nuclear wasteland that follows. That's what's weird about forums. You think everyone is on the same page, yuk, yuk, yuk, and then someone reads your posts in the mood THEY'RE in, and you get scolded. Oh well.....

.....

You thought that was a scolding?

Re-read what I said P, that was a compliment.

And Starbucks? Meh...that's an every morning thing. I'm more of a beer girl (after 5 or noon on weekends/holidays). :)

You can have a beer.....Me and beer have decided to part ways....

Anyway, it's not about what your drinking.....It's about who you're drinking with....

I didn't mean you...I meant the people who told us to tone it down. Everyone here was on the same page until someone came in and read it out of context and told us to behave....we're good.

I have experienced venting in two mech mods over the past 3 years.. I believe Baditude had a batt vent in one of his.. It does happen. Says everything for the ProVari and other safe, regulated voltage / power devices.. The battery is constantly being monitored. Personally, I think anyone who does not at least run a fuse in a mech is foolish.. ;)

This is 2014.. We used mechs a few years ago because that's all we had until the Buzz and ProVari came on the scene. I own and like mechs for reasons I posted before, but I use them with Kick 2's. I have a DNA 30 device just in case I do get the itch to go more extreme with my builds. :) With the many high wattage devices now here, and more coming, mechs in general will be a relic of the past before too long IMO.. ;)

I'm foolish.

...and I vape on relics.

same here. but I overcompensate with paranoia so its all good

technonut you mention using a dna30 for your more extreme builds? A dna 30 would barely hold together my daily drivers. different strokes for different folks

That was me. And I offer my apologies here now. I popped in, and saw what looked to be something nasty going on, and spoke my mind.

I'm admittedly jaded from some of the things that I see, particularly when the word "Provari" is involved. So it was wrong of me to pop-in and pop-off, but I'd be lying if I said it was the first time.

Again, apologies all around. Please continue.

And on that note, I'll just pop back on out. :vapor:

It's just common sense... :) I do have a good sticky on safe sub-ohm vaping here:

anyone know if Provari is coming out with a new/upgraded unit anytime soon?
Would like to see a digital display (2 digits seems antiquated to me)on it like other mods and see them do away with the 15 button pushes to turn it off, 13 pushes to check the atomizer, 11 to check the battery etc. seems like this would do some wear and tear action on the button & switch.

if you can find me a resettable fuse that trips at 29.5amp and is less than 2mm thick I'll run it.
I date my batteries, use a good charger, swap out at 3.8v, meter my atties about a dozen times during the build, and about 2 times a day after. I have no plans of going below 0.2 with my sonys. I give my batteries 10 hrs to rest after coming off the charger, I check for shorts every time I drip, and I always lock my switches. I wont run a fuse because I haven't found one I like.

edit: and I do the afformentioned "thermal check" about 3-4 times a day. I have to touch the batts to my lips because my hands have little sensation of heat anymore. working on motors will do that to you.

The button pushes don't bother me too much because I so rarely use them (I never turn mine off, either, except on rare occasions). It doesn't *feel* like that many when you're using it - I just think of it as 5 to get to the menu and then I'm cycling through the options, not counting presses. I would like to see them remove the extra button push between menu options though; does anyone know why those are there? Is there a reason?
