That does look pretty neat, I saw them at focalecig a few days ago when I was browsing. I might pick one up if I decide to spring on anything from them. I do wonder how many folks noticed the coil gizmo with the attire of the young lady showing it though ha.

My coworker got his two rolls correctly, so that's good. It's funny watching him run around like "Dude, try this raspberry! No, no, no, upper lip! Yeah, 20 bucks a roll!"

Got a record income tax return (for me) right on the heels of GM announcing a record profit sharing check. People at work are busy discussing all the "sexy" things they're going to do with it, while I'll just "scrooge" it on bills. Should be able to axe $400 in monthly bill payments, then promptly add it right back since that's how life seems to work.

I do have a grand earmarked for El Camino parts though, I guess that qualifies as "sexy." Apparently the previous owner wanted a rough idle without a rough idle camshaft, so he just timed it way off to the point its a miracle it runs, leaving me to tear it apart haha.

What year is your El Camino? I haven't seen one of those in a long time. Congrats on the big return and profit sharing. I'm not sure how I'm gonna do on taxes this year. We took some money out of a mutual fund to buy my daughter a car and pay the deductible on my wife's appendix surgery.

Waho, there was e cig stuff in the video? I guess I missed that in not knowing Chinese. :p I forgot how nice those trucks looked. Haven't seen one in ages.

Yeah Hitt, the medical deduction is ridiculous. You have to have some major issues before you're not using after tax dollars to get medical care. That and auto mileage always bothered me. I was driving 25-30 miles each was to get to work. Business miles are something like $.56/mile but you get nothing for travel to get to your job. Never thought that was fair.

That reminds me, I saw a story about a guy from the Detroit area that was walking 30 miles a day to get to and from work for 10 years. His car broke down and he didn't have the money to fix it so he walked. He was only making like $10-11/hour. Someone picked up on the story and opened up a GoFundMe account. As of Monday, people contributed $43k to the fund. The a local dealer heard about it and donated a new car. He should be good for quite a while.

    That sucks FC.

It's always nice to see stories like that in today's world. Hopefully it has a happy ending and it doesn't end up being another "guy with the golden voice" situation.

Glad to hear you're at least getting store credit, although a proper shipment (with free shipping) would have been the right thing to do. It always blows my mind when things happen and it seems the last thing a company wants to do is try to keep our business. If it were my business I'd bend over backwards to keep a customer.

I'll be sure to grab a few more photo's of the El Camino as it progresses. Getting a new legitimate rough idle camshaft/lifters/pushrods/timing set since it needs to be timed anyway, new carburetor as its leaking gas and the electric choke was removed for whatever reason, new mufflers and exhaust tubing, and shocks/springs. It's a ton of work but a good friend of mine loves old cars and wants to help. Weird how I'll complain about having to drop money to repair my daily driver but want to drop all kinds of cash on this old thing for the fun of it.

That does sound like a lot of work but is a labor of love. Or at least like. Few things give as much satisfaction as fixing or making something with your own two hands. Speaking of fixing things, my daughter hit a curb the other day when it was icy here so I have to replace a tie rod on her car tomorrow. After seeing how much it was bent last night I would have to imagine that it scared the daylights out of her when it hit.

I think it shook her up a little but the funniest thing is that she drove the car back and forth to school and to volunteer after school like that. It was like riding on an oval wheel instead of a round one on that side. I don't know how she drove it. I told her that if anything like that ever happens again that she can try to make it home but needs to come to me so I can look at it. In my opinion it was unsafe to drive and I would never want her to risk her health over a stupid car. She had told my wife that she hit a curb and my wife told me but she never mentioned that it was driving awful and had to have the steering wheel in the wrong position to keep it straight.
