Even the feral (well semi-feral now) tomcat realized he was a big friendly lug. He'd run from the other two, but he'd just sit and watch when T went out. I think Jackson is a little confused by the whole thing. I am a bit concerned about when he ends up here all alone. He's never had that before, although he's stayed out of trouble since he stopped chewing on power cords as a pup.

Yeah, it's going to take some time. I'm just thankful I had him for nearly 13 years. I don't remember if I wrote this before but his mother died suddenly one night, just went to sleep and didn't wake up. When I was looking up their email information to let them know, I hit the email I received about her passing. It was 2005 which would have made her around seven. I should be thankful.

You are right roth. You should be thankful for having that much time with him.

We're writing down how many times a day our pup's leg gives out and are going to talk to the vet when she goes back to get her stitches out from being spayed. I feel so bad for her having the knee problems. At first we thought it was the left leg but we see it happening to the right leg too sometimes. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. It doesn't seem to be painful because she doesn't yelp or anything when it happens. That's at least one good thing.

I got out my Patrick Collins snuff box and put some honey menthol in it. I had a couple more pinches today. It was kind of a weird day. I was super tired in the morning and my legs ached all day. No doubt it was the arthritis letting me know it was still there.

    Hitt,
I don't guess you've got any hedges 260 floating around do you? I'd like to try some but putting in an order just for that seems silly.

    As an aside,
I've got a bunch here I need to give away.i guess I'm not a toque fan....

Hey Gutter, do you have any Toque raspberry? I was loving a big tin of it. I had it in my winter cycle jacket last spring when the weather went from pretty chilly in the morning to darn warm when I left the thrift shop. The bike was loaded so I strapped the jacket to a duffel bag I was carrying on the bike. To make a long story short, the wind loosened up the straps, caught the jacket and it was gone. I took three runs up the mile stretch where I knew it came off but it was gone including the can.

Both of you need to pm me your addresses again. I do have some hedges l260 and can send you a couple of the little plastic smash boxes of it and I'm pretty sure I have at least two unopened cans of the toque raspberry menthol. I stocked up before the pact act took affect.

I've got a full tin of the raspberry menthol - if you want it, just shoot me a pm with your address and i'll get it sent your way.

There's also some toque espresso, quit, peanut butter, mcchrystals original and some wos (vanilla ice and coffee cream)stuff here if any of you guys/gals want it.

hopefully getting some sleep sometime soon with:

i spent the day working on a few computers and learning the newest version of ubuntu.it's come a loooong way since i messed with it last and if it wasn't for the ancient recording interface i'm using, i would switch all the pc's here to it. it's insanely awesome for something that is free and community supported.

i slept for about 2 hours last night and i'm hoping to get more sometime before the sun comes up.

Good morning. I'm not familiar with that one gutter. I found out this morning when I came into work that we are having a huge increase on our health insurance premiums. It's going to almost double what is coming out of my check each week. That's really hard to absorb.

That sucks about the insurance Hitt. I think we are all in for it, honestly. My copay on one of my rx meds tripled since jan 1, from around $40/month to $120/month. I really wish the whole health system was a free market system. You know, every clinic post a price menu and we go to the one we want. I don't see how freedom means we pay for stuff without choice. We should always have a choice and be allowed to shop around. Why is it that the health care system does not have to justify itself at all?? Sometimes I wish I were born a generation earlier. I'm really scared about where things are headed.

    On that cheerful note...

I think the same thing. Part of the problem is that we are a small company and like everyone else we are stuck shopping for insurance in our own state. If we could shop companies in all states then maybe pricing would be a little more competitive. I'm so sick of the whole healthcare situation.

Gutter, I've been learning a bit about ubuntu but know nothing about it technically. I really should download it to a thumb drive and play with it. I've been concerned about getting applications that will run under the OS. I never dealt with Linux other than the fact that Android is also based there. I've been thinking of shopping the thrift stores for Linux references to see if I could improve my grasp of what is going on.

Hitt, I'm hearing rumblings all over about health insurance costs (and lack of jobs in the marketplace). I sure hope we're not looking at four more years of the same or worse.

Skry, you're so right. T arrived at a time in my life that I needed a T. He and I knew each other so well. This one's going to take some time. Jackson's doing his best to fill the void but he's just annoying at this point. I really don't need a dog whining to go out every half hour or to play rope tug constantly. I think he misses growling at T constantly whenever he went bouncing around the LR.

Axl, the only issue with being born a generation earlier is that you're a generation older and can see what lies ahead through the eyes of the generation ahead of you. Trust me, you're in the best space right now, other than the mess created by our leaders.

Ubuntu is essentially a Linux variant that is sort of aimed at ease of use.this newest version has some small quirks but seems to be running nice a fast on the wife's old net book (1.6ghz iirc).

It's too bad about the insurance man. There's been a couple of other guys I know that have mentioned it - doubling premiums are nothing to sneeze at. Ouch..

It's come a long way,for sure. This newest version looks just like osx with the dock running vertically up the left hand side.
The way I see it, when Linux gets to the point where you don't need the command line to do anything,it will take off and put everyone else out of business. Until then, I'm afraid that having to know the commands and proper syntax relegates it to the enthusiast market and people who otherwise have the know how to bootleg any operating system they want.
On the upside, it is quick, comes bundled with any software you would possibly need, looks absolutely beautiful and seems to run really, really well on outdated hardware.
It's definitely worth dedicating an old machine and a thumb drive to - if you don't have any ancient outboard gear, I could easily see it doing anything most people need/use a pc for.

Good morning. That sounds interesting. Unfortunately I don't have an old pc to try it on. I haven't had much exposure to MAC software but have watched my daughter use her macbook air some. It's for school so I haven't asked to mess with it.
