    Somewhere between here and there
I have been ocd watching snus sales and prices. I really want some of the summer snus and will need a couple rolls of thunder raspberry within the next 4-6 weeks. I’m thinking about placing an order with snusexpress since they sent out a coupon code. I ran the same cart through a few sites and they came out cheapest. I keep hesitating since I just bought my wife a new iPhone. I’ll probably give in eventually and order.

I had that need for something new on Monday so I scratched an itch. Years ago I bought a cheap VR headset where you put your phone in it and played some VR stuff, but it wore off quick. I kept seeing all the pricey stuff that came along and ignored. Well Monday, I was reading an article on the Oculus Go and decided I'd give it one. Wow.

The main reason I decided to get one was for Netflix as it seemed like you could immerse yourself it it, I was right. Once I figured out how to get the view to appear over me laying on my back, it was one heck of an experience. It has built in speakers so other than the occasional dog barking, it felt like I was in a movie theater, the screen appeared so large.

I fooled a little with a roller coaster ride and I would have looked and sounded as foolish as people look on youtube experiencing VR. Did a little tour of Yosemite before the batteries were crying for a recharge. At $250 for the 64GB model, it wasn't wallet cracking so I'm happy with the purchase thus far although I have a sneaking suspicion they'll get me to buy other stuff somewhere along the way.

It's an uncommon occurrence. The foundry had one 2 week shutdown, and this is the second month long retooling shutdown at the assembly plant. Out of 8 years it's not too shabby.

The downside is they can contractually force us to use all but 8 hours of our vacation time, so we end up having to work the rest of the year with no vacation days.

90s with high humidity here too. The plant was a steamer oven today. They say Sunday and Monday will hit 100.

We are on mandatory overtime here too. Then they make you use PTO for the 10 day shutdown at end of year. New folks only get a couple days for the fist couple of years so they have no vacation the rest of the year either.

We're supposed get heat relief (extra breaks) when the heat index is over 100 degrees in the shop. There's a "if manpower is available" caveat however, so we've never once actually had them.

Thankfully they let us keep 8 hours, but our low seniority guys end up having more time unpaid. Double edged sword of actually having the time off but not having any extra cash to enjoy it.

Boy I wouldn't like those shutdowns at all. I took most of my vacation time in shortening weeks. Whenn I had season tickets to PSU I'd take off Fridays and make those weekends long. Then toward the end we'd only have half days on Friday during the summer so I took the other half day to give me 4 day weeks most of that time.

Heat wise, it was around 90 here (well, outside the woods) and up to 97 on Sunday and Monday. I think I'll need to put the air on for the first time tomorrow. Only the dogs will be in the house until I get home at 5 or 6, but I don't want the fur babies over heading and uncomfortable.

Bought a few games for the Oculus, just to see what they were like. I've had no interest in gaming for decades so these are pretty lame compared to what's out there but they were actually a lot of fun. I hope I'm not getting addicted. lol

Yeah, I think I'll stay with the fun games they have in this fantasy world.

Don't know how hot it was out in the sun today, know it was bad when I left poker. It was 90 in the woods when I got home. It's amazing how cool 78 feels with that heat. When I walked in the door it felt so cool.
