We got away with only 4 inches or so this last go around as it turned to a light sleet at the end. Not enough to make too crunchy and it blew off easily. Waho, I don't miss the drifting snow. My mom's house was notorious for it across her front yard and drive. She'd get a foot of snow and there'd be more than two feet in her drive. That was the one part of her finally selling the house that I was happy about, not trying to keep here trive opened. Second were the leaves, she had a lot of them. My houses has no drifting, one of the big advantages of living in the woods.

Got another 6" or so of snow today and a chiro appointment tomorrow, lower back is killing me. It was hurting before the snow removal but worse now.

The snow was being followed by rain so I quickly got myself together in what was supposed to be the last 45 minutes before the rain hit, hoping to get as much cleared before the snow was turned to a heavy mush. Fortunately or unfortunately, the snow just kept coming and I kept clearing. I was down to the tarp over my firewood when the rain came. It was light and I wanted to get the snow off before it got too bad, but that didn't help much.

There's no place to ut the snow anymore so it's a lot of shovelling and lifting and throwing above piles. It looks like the next ten days will hit the mid 40s to low 50s with some rain thrown in so maybe some of this stuff will start to disappear.

We got into the 40's yesterday and today as well.

Figuring the snow was going to start melting, I checked my sump pump on a whim. Turns out it died sometime between now and the last time I checked it in January. Sooo much easier to replace when there's not water gushing in and your bailing while working. Took me longer to drive the 5 miles to Home Depot and back than to actually replace.

I went up from a 1/3 to a 1/2 horsepower pump. I have an 8' vertical run followed by a 24' horizontal run on the outlet and could hear that the 1/3 HP pump was struggling a bit. I'm hoping it runs for a good while as the 1/3 HP pump went 7 years for us and I don't know how long with the previous owners. I don't like that it has a built in float switch as those tend to fail well before the pumps, but we'll see.

I just bought a new sump pump Monday for back up. The one I have now is probably 7-8 years old and we are getting ready to head into the rainy season. I just got another 1/3hp one. It's been fine. I run a shorter 4" flex pipe outside in the winter. The long one that runs the length of the house on that side will freeze in the winter.

Well, while you were buying pumps, I've been laying around. I decided after snow removal I couldn't wait for next week's monthly chiro appointment and set up one yesterday with my old chiro as he is easier to get into and the back pain needed a more aggressive approach. I was hurting so bad that I fell asleep around 8 and never got up until 5:50 to the sound of my dog whining at my ear.

He normally goes out late at night so he missed that trip and I was ready to go too so I quickly pulled my shoes on and out we went. All went well until we got close to a snow pile that he wanted bad. He pulled just as I was standing on black ice and down I went hard.

I laid there for a number of seconds trying to determine if anything broke and in serious pain on my right side hip and leg. Other than the pain, nothing seemed broken but I was in the middle of the black ice with six feet or so to drag myself to find some crunchy snow to attempt to get up.

I finally did but until this morning, I could hardly move after getting back from the chiro. The fall seemed to give me a mini adjustment as my back wasn't hurting as much as the previous day or maybe it was just the pain in my hip, .... and leg was just worse. I basically slept on and off all day after icing my leg and did feel somewhat better this morning.

I have pull on ice cleats that I just didn't think about at that hour of the morning. I've decided any time there's a chance of ice, like tonight, to put them on my shoes at dinner time so I don't do that again.

I like general white but the only thing I could trade are other things in the same bergamot flavor profile.
Would you like the 15 cans I have, I have no use for them, and I would rather give them to someone who likes them. If so PM me your address and when I get a chance to get to the post office I'll send them to you.

I do wish that thunder would come back with the raspberry though. I really miss it. I’m down to just a few cans in the freezer and have been rationing it.
I'm down to only 8 cans, and it is a treat when I open one. I also wish they would come back with it, or we could get the chew bags I have seen in the EU. I am going to try to flavor some pouches with Raspberry flavoring and see how it works.

Ouch! I hate falling on ice. I’m glad nothing was broken. That and you got a free chiropractor adjustment out of the deal.

I’m down to 7 and just opened one. I hadn’t used any for a month or two so felt like a treat.

Ouch Roth, hoping for your speedy recovery.

The last few times I went to the range, they had tons of ammo available in the store with a 1 box per day per caliber limit. I went to sight in my AR over the weekend and they were wiped out. Everything was behind the counter and they'd only sell you 2 boxes if you bought another gun. Not to mention the horrible mark ups going on.

Figuring I could shoot my .22 caliber air rifle on the cheap, I wandered over to the pellets. Even those doubled in price as well. It's still way more affordable at $0.10/pellet vs $1/round, but still pretty frustrating.

I haven't bought any ammo in quite a while. What is driving the price increase?

From my understanding, it's a combination of an initial covid related slow down on manufacturing, hoarding (akin to toilet paper, buying way more than you need because you're worried you won't be able to get it in the future), and worry over gun control legislation what with the "civil unrest" going on. By all accounts, manufacturers are now running flat out but demand has absolutely surged.

I bought 2 1000 round cases of Federal 9mm range ammo for $280 shipped last Jan 2020. Shot through all of it breaking in a couple new pistols, and waited too long to order more. Just 1 case of that same 9mm is $720 before shipping now.

That's crazy prices. I spent well over $100 for a box of 12 gauge and a couple boxes of 40 cal. They barely had any stock about a month ago. They had nothing for my 30-30 but it is available on line. I was considering getting a 9mm conversion for my Glock so ammo was cheaper but at those prices, I'll wait.

It slipped right past me that ten days ago I crossed the 11 year mark on quitting smoking which means I've been here for a bit longer than that.

    Congrats on the anniversary Roth!

I only have one gun and plenty of ammo. I haven't been to the range in a long time since my favorite one closed.

    Congrats Roth!

A couple coworkers and I would hit the range every other weekend and burn through 300-400 rounds back when 9mm was $9/50.

Of course the year I have to renew my CPL ammo becomes impossible to find. MI requires you to refresh on the laws and show marksmanship practice when you renew. Thankfully I saved a few boxes or I'd be spending the long dollar getting some shipped just for that.

Checked my nicotine stock as they will no longer ship after April. I'm down to 350ml of the liter I bought in November 2016, so I ordered 2 more liters. At that rate of 150ml per year, the supply should last another 15 years. Hopefully by then I'll have either quit or sanity prevails and they'll be shipping again.

A few vendors have said that they are seeking alternative shipping methods but I'm not counting on it. I'm stocked well enough that I could probably never buy anything again if I didn't want to.

Hitt, I'm having a hard time understanding why PACT is affecting ecigs and liquid so greatly. I suppose that's the end of your review gigs also. To me, it appears that they have the same restrictions as the snus vendors. I realize that there's increased cost to end users with signature requirements and placing orders would become significantly more expensive for picking up a small order. What am I missing?

I suppose it will be advantageous for the B&M stores but I'm not getting why it's so hard on the vendors.
