I totally respect yours and Burnie’s decision not to get it. Every person has the right to decide what they put in their body. My wife and I help out and visit her parents and she wanted me to get it so all of us would be vaccinated. I really didn’t have a preference either way. Last year was the first time I got the flu shot when she wanted both of us to get it. I had no ill affects from it. My concern now is if we have to get booster shots down the road to keep it up then will I get sick each time?
Got my appointment today for Tuesday before work. The health department sign up thing indicated J&J was going to be available one day and Pfizer the next, and I accidentally signed up for Pfizer. I would rather have had the 1 and done and not had to make a follow up appointment but oh well.
It's a drive through thing at Bishop Airport 2 minutes from work, so hopefully the first shot doesn't effect me too bad.

You should be fine besides a little soreness in your arm. After the stories a few days ago about people having reactions to the J&J you’re probably better off getting the Pfizer.
Back to the Home meal programs. We've been doing Tovala for months now and, other than one pork meal that neither of us liked, we've been very satisfied other than price. In addition, I keep seeing offers from others that has me thinking about seeing what the others have to offer.
One think can't be beat is the no brainer aspect of Tovala. Meals arrive with aluminum trays, a little putting on some ingredients, pop it in the tovala oven, have it read a bar code and press start and in 15 minutes or less a tasty meal. It figures out how much baking, broiling and steaming you need. It tells you when to even add water for the steaming process.
Anyway, I've been seeing offers from Home Chef and Hello Fresh that I might give a go for comparison. We've saved a ton of recipe cards and they have others online that we've used to make our own store bought stuff so we can experiment with using the tovala oven with whatever comes from someone else.
Which brings me to your post about Hello Fresh, Waho. Are you still using them and still liking it? You're right about saving money though. We do three meals right now, Saturday is eat out and light the other three days or an occasional real dinner like salmon. As expensive as tovala meals are (around $71 for three nights a week), without having to buy all the ingredients and throwing out what's not used or sitting in the freezer too long, it's still pretty efficient.
Almost forgot, the air fryer sits mostly unused now since the reheating works so well in the tovala.

One was a package of chicken had a hole that leaked juice all over inside the box, another was scallops that were already turned when we got them. One box looked like it was squeezed in a vice but everything inside was fine. Each time hello fresh refunded the entire $55, so the customer service is pretty good.

I can see where it would be nice during the work week but I actually like cooking when I can. I made some pan seared pork chops with onions, baked potatoes coated in butter and seasoning wrapped in foil to bake, and a Parmesan pasta yesterday. I’ve never really looked at cost per meal before.
Yeah Waho, definitely cheaper and definitely more prep time. I reviewed a number of Youtubes and Hello Fresh had a distinct advantage. I sent them over to the cook to review since she does the prep work. If it were me alone, I'd be Tovala all the way, just too easy. Well, actually, I'd be eating a lot less and could lose some extra weight in the process. lol
Hitt I don't worry too much about the cost anyway. What I do like is the portion control. With an Irish/Italian in the house there are full plates with plenty of pasta and potatoes. The extra weight goes on me or the dog. Never a problem when I was active in sports, but in my seventies and just trying to stay vertical makes her meals an issue.

I do also. Hello fresh still has you doing all the prep/cooking, so you feel like you're doing it. There's just a bunch of hand holding with spices and the recipes are fairly simple. Everything has been tasty and some things got us out of your comfort zone and trying some new things that my wife has since replicated.
As an aside, we got a new fridge on Friday. One of the ones with door in door and knock to see what's inside.

I hope you like it Waho. I’ve talked with a handful of people that bought one with the bottom freezer and after having it a while didn’t like it.
Waho, that fridge is definitely more expensive than my first new car in '71. lol. It's beautiful but I just want something that pumps out ice on a regular basis. That being said, if I were younger and had space for it, I'd probably like it a lot more.

My wife refused a regular side by side that was $1000 cheaper, what're ya gonna do?
Thankfully I live 4 minutes from HD and around the corner from a local Gilroy's. Forgetting something isn't the worst but still rather frustrating.

You did what I would do if my wife insisted on something. She wants a counter depth for our next one which adds a few hundred to the price compared to a standard one.
It is rather nice compared to our previous standard size bottom freezer. Ignoring the handles it's only 3" more shallow, but it "feels" a lot smaller while having more interior space being taller. Combined with the double doors it's much easier to maneuver between it and island.
The counter depth side by side we were looking at was $2200, but my wife "needed" the french doors so it ended up being $3200. Thankfully I got 18 months deferred interest so it's not as harsh on the wallet immediately.

And that story flashed me back to the late '70s deep within the last raging inflation period and gas shortage. We were headed down to VA Beach to visit friends and were on the 18 mile Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The bridge has two tunnels and we were between tunnels and the fan belt broke. I kept watching the temp climb and climb praying to reach the island before the second tunnel. The distance between them was something like 5 miles with no place to pull off.
Finally got there red lining the temp gauge. Let it cool down as I searched for a solution. I think it was a trucker that had water and filled up the radiator but I still don't know how much that helped with the water not being pumped in the system.
Anyway, we sat for over an hour waiting for the engine to cool. Unfortunately this was a long time before cell phones so we were at the mercy of fate. Never thought to look for or ask about an emergency phone on the island. All I considered was if I was going to be able to make that last leg without blowing up the engine.
I chose to drive as fast as possible for what I guess was about 10 miles and hope for the best. Fortunately it wasn't the summer so the temperature factored in. I was never so happy to get on dry land, found the first exit and there was a garage there. Of course it wasn't opened as it was during the gas shortage, but we'd made it and there was a phone booth right there.
Got it fixed the next day, filled with gas and felt blessed.

My first car was a 77 cutlass supreme. My dad picked it out and I paid for it. It was a pretty decent car. I'm a little surprised he picked something with a V8 in it for my first car.
I should have written my first new car. I drove a new '64 Ford Falcon when I turned 16 but that was only because my mom won it in a grocery store drawing. That was a little lower list price so all they paid for it was the income tax. I drove it for two years then my sister had it.
Boy did I have a rough day yesterday. It started with sulfur burbs and ended with my first adult diaper although it stayed clean until it was over. Just so happened that there was still a box around from when my uncle reached the end.
