What's with people buying multiple tanks?

At the beginning we want to buy everything. rssss
Think it is normal to want to buy many things (when possible), after a while we found the accessories that best adapt.
For example, I repair my coils, then i use evod, mini protank, T3 and T3s because it is easier to repair and uses less material. Thus I have mini-vivi, T2, CEs that hardly use.

You do realize that no one throws the actual tank away right? While the cartomizer does burn out and get tossed they often don't cost more than the coil heads many of the clearos us. I'm sure someone else pointed this out already, just didn't read through all the posts yet.

NOPE, I'm talking about people that actually buy a complete clearo, and use it like a disposable atty. Wastefully like I said in my post, and yes believe it or not I've seen it ALOT, I don't know if they're lying and think it's cool to be wastefully rich, or just found their vaping heaven and that's what works for them. I prefer to be efficiently rich. I am aware of tanks that are interchangeable with their atty's though, and no nobody pointed this out I think they all understood what I meant.

Here is a pic of my buddy's tanks and mods... he has been vaping for almost two months.

He has quite a few tanks as you can see... and has a few more mods and assorted types of toppers soon to be ordered ($400+ from Fastech)

That's a nice FT collection, dayum he caught the fever harder than I did! I had maybe 3-4 setups in my first 2 months, and not nearly as advanced of pieces, bravo! Thank god for fast-tech, probably one of the biggest reasons people trash their units, because why not!? :p

Part of addiction is being paranoid about not having your chosen item. Some of what I have is backups for the backups. I've made some mistake purchases too.

I used some blue foam and 510 attys to test DIY flavors. Then ripped the innards from a carto. I could probably find some tubing to put over a bottom coil head and test that way too.

 Oh man that brings me back, I had a half gallon bag full of empty blu's myself, I thought they'd come in handy one day but I got into the serious business and lost interest. I wish I hadn't thrown mine away :p

the little silicone seals make great gaskets for the 510+ pin on mods :)

I do think about the wastage of plastics and whether or not that plastic, metal etc is captured for recycling but with oil going up the wall I imagine plastic will become a very expensive commodity sometime in the future although it can be made from coal and synthesis, its just easier to use black gold to make it.

My money is just as hard earned as anyone else's so to answer the OP's question, I spend it how I see fit, my money. If this is a question to clarify that they actually do make disposable tanks then cool, if not, there are more important and thought provoking questions out there like, how do you cure the common cold. :glare: To clarify, I pay mine forward but if someone wants to toss or waste, then thank God it is a free country.

*preface: I'm by far not hating on anybody, I know everyone has their own flow to their go and everyone does things differently...that's ok by me.*
I know alot of people have ALOT of mods and batteries to put their tanks on, but what's with this trend of buying "disposable" tanks to just throw away? :?:Maybe my momma taught me right, and how to pinch a penny, but it just sounds plain wasteful to me. By all means if your rolling in it, by a few protanks to put in the garbage, but I'm (not to toot my own horn) in the middle-wealthy tax-category and am MORE than comfortable with my finances (all hard earned by me too) but that doesn't mean I blow my nose with my bills lol.

I only am bringing this up to find out why people do it really, for convenience, for filling up tanks with different flavors ahead of time, or just because why not? I'm able to buy a big box full of aspire nautilus's (favorite glasso) with every paycheck but I certainly don't lol. I personally have 1 tank that I researched and chose to be my favorite per battery, mod I have open. And when that pre-made coil burns out I buy a replacement coil, and change it out preferably I'd rebuild the coil if possible and put my own wick in it. If the tank gets dirty, or crudded up in anyway I clean it out and re-use it until something actually breaks. Again I'm not hating on the people that buy a handful of tanks just to have as disposables, as they are fairly cheap at around 15.00 per, but the vape quality doesn't go down if you put a little elbow grease in and actually fix the problem.

-Maybe I'm wierd but I don't buy a new car if it needs an oil change :p

*Edit: I do understand having variety of flavors, believe me I have quite the library now, AND the convenience of having it pre-filled/ready to go, and even just to give your mod/battery a partner. Hell I have ten different tanks myself, some in duplicates for going to work/getting impatient with a flavor. I solely mean those that buy tanks to use like toilet paper, they use it til the atty blows/gets dirty, then trash it and throw it away, and I have seen ALOT of people bragging about this.

At a dollar per tank, that basically works out may better tank buying cartos; no fiddling with cartotank tools and priming, plus you get eGo thread disposables .
Hassle free vape.
Its a sensible option if you don't mind vaping plastic and don't want to be fiddling with the thingy.

Does anyone actually buy protanks and throw them away after a couple of uses/when it gets dirty/when the coil doesn't work properly anymore? I haven't heard of anyone. CE4s, yes, but you can't replace the coil when it doesn't work properly anymore.

Of course not; but people do buy CE4 type tanks, the disposable ones; in fact I think last year alot of the starter kits came with disposable tanks.

Up from the disposable tanks are the ones with replaceable atomizer heads.

Next up from those tanks is the glass tanks.

It makes sense for example for somebody who buys a starter EVOD kit and uses it for months to eventually upgrade to miniprotanks, which is essentially the glass version of the evod.

I'm not so familiar with the topcoils but I'm pretty sure there are plastic topcoils (CE5?) that use the same coil as the pyrex vivinova, so somebody using those plastic topcoils could upgrade to the pyrex.

You posted a picture of real tanks in your opening statement. Most people arent throwing those away.

carto.jpg

Theyre probably using clearomizers and incorrectly calling those tanks.

clearo.jpg

FYI, Tanks were invented right here on this forum by some very talented modders.Lately people have taken to labelling them carto tanks.

Clearomizers have been around for a long time as well but the early ones leaked like sieves and had quality control issues (some still do) and are seen as more of a throwaway product.

If the real tanks are called carto tanks then these should be called clearo tanks as both refer to the method of juice delivery. One uses a slotted or punched carto, the other uses a wick and coil system.

Your juice preference, all VG, 50/50 pg/vg 80/20 etc etc can have a bearing on your enjoyment of either device, ie typically heavy vg liquids do not do well in top coil clearomizers.
